Have been here a number of times. Food is always great. Always busy with a great atmosphere. Friendly for all. Great on a Friday night to watch the footy or a mid week dinner. Got a number for featured nights like steak night etc. would definitely recommend checking it out.

Thought the food was below average, but I had ordered the veal schnitzel, which is a menu item I don't see often. Needless to say, I was a bit let down, dry and chewy....
The service form the staff, local atmosphere & cold balter XPA's certainly did make up for that though.

I look forward to coming back here and trying other menu items and enjoying more cold beer.

Cool little back street pub with old school vibes in a modern setting - will definitely be back for a few beers. Edit: Came back for a couple of beers and dinner, and it did not disappoint. The food here is fantastic. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of nostalgic charm and contemporary comfort. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. If you're looking for a cozy spot with great food and drinks, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Great pub! Feels like a proper local that has been classed up just the right amount. Great mix of people. Perfect for a sneaky pint and something to eat, food nothing special, good enough pub food.

The Mona Castle Hotel is a local family-friendly pub located in Seddon. It is a whopping 150 years old, and was recently purchased and renovated by the same team as @theascotvalehotel. 🍺

Keeping its old charm, retaining the same facade, bones and bar but breathing a new life and warmth into the interior. There are 4 different dining areas, including a private downstairs area and outdoor courtyard.

The food and drinks menu has all your favourite pub classics, and the prices are kept reasonable and fair. Cocktails range from $17-21. 🍸

??- Chicken Parma - a very classic, simple parma. Chips were cold, salad could be improved.
??"️ Roast Lamb Shoulder - incredibly tender, flavoursome and a delicious gravy. Vegetables were cold.
??"️ Mussels, Tomato, Coconut Broth - biggest mussels i've seen! Amazing broth, mopped up with some slices of sourdough.
??"️ Chips, Chicken Salt - I didn't really taste the chicken salt but these chips were hot crispy!

Happy Hour: 4-6PM weeknights, with $5 pots and $9 selected wines.
Monday: Chicken/Eggplant Schnitz/Parma Night $20

Thursday: Locals Night, Drink Specials, Veg/Meat Raffles

We visited for Mother's Day dinner, and we were all satisfied with our meals. Its a comfortable and inviting space and the service is quick and friendly. Great spot to come watch sports too. Would revisit! 😀🏼

Went here for their Wednesday steak night. I think it's around $25 and absolutely amazing... atmosphere on a Wednesday night aswell goes off. Definitely recommend.

Pros: great atmosphere, bar staff are excellent, service excellent.
Cons: I wanted this to be good! My excitement at a vegetarian Parma was short lived when my meal was delivered, undercooked and hard eggplant, no sauce except a tiny scrape underneath the two eggplants, two tiny knobs of unmelted mozzarella and half a bag of undressed rocket on top made for a very dry and indigestible meal.

Fantastic local hotel in my area, with great friendly staff, and nice meals. Always current live sport on overhead screens. Have taken many friends and relatives for meals here, and they all would come back, for similar reasons, Favourites are the steak night, and Seafood pasta dish, For sure one of the best tradional pubs in Melbourne for quality food and atmosphere. Great Young Henry's Ginger beer on tap. Tell them Richard sent you to MONA CASTLE!

Only have good words for this place, very nice little "back street" pub. The food is good, beer is cold, and a good little beer garden.

One of the bar staff obviously didn't want to be working there on the day we ate there, but perhaps she was having a particularly bad go of it. Otherwise, I'll be returning again soon!

There was a big group of us, and we weren't rushed at all for a family lunch. It was a busy day and the atmosphere was great. Every meal that came out, smelt and was flavourful. We had the seafood pasta, the mushroom burger was awesome, a great change to a meat burger, amongst other dishes. Must book as this place is busy, and there is plenty of parking. Great day out.
