Great pub! Feels like a proper local that has been classed up just the right amount. Great mix of people. Perfect for a sneaky pint and something to eat, food nothing special, good enough pub food.

The Mona Castle Hotel is a local family-friendly pub located in Seddon. It is a whopping 150 years old, and was recently purchased and renovated by the same team as @theascotvalehotel. ?

Keeping its old charm, retaining the same facade, bones and bar but breathing a new life and warmth into the interior. There are 4 different dining areas, including a private downstairs area and outdoor courtyard.

The food and drinks menu has all your favourite pub classics, and the prices are kept reasonable and fair. Cocktails range from $17-21. ?

??- Chicken Parma - a very classic, simple parma. Chips were cold, salad could be improved.
??"? Roast Lamb Shoulder - incredibly tender, flavoursome and a delicious gravy. Vegetables were cold.
??"? Mussels, Tomato, Coconut Broth - biggest mussels i've seen! Amazing broth, mopped up with some slices of sourdough.
??"? Chips, Chicken Salt - I didn't really taste the chicken salt but these chips were hot crispy!

Happy Hour: 4-6PM weeknights, with $5 pots and $9 selected wines.
Monday: Chicken/Eggplant Schnitz/Parma Night $20
Wednesday: Steak Night 250g $23
Thursday: Locals Night, Drink Specials, Veg/Meat Raffles

We visited for Mother's Day dinner, and we were all satisfied with our meals. Its a comfortable and inviting space and the service is quick and friendly. Great spot to come watch sports too. Would revisit! ??'??

Went here for their Wednesday steak night. I think it's around $25 and absolutely amazing... atmosphere on a Wednesday night aswell goes off. Definitely recommend.

Pros: great atmosphere, bar staff are excellent, service excellent.
Cons: I wanted this to be good! My excitement at a vegetarian Parma was short lived when my meal was delivered, undercooked and hard eggplant, no sauce except a tiny scrape underneath the two eggplants, two tiny knobs of unmelted mozzarella and half a bag of undressed rocket on top made for a very dry and indigestible meal.

Fantastic local hotel in my area, with great friendly staff, and nice meals. Always current live sport on overhead screens. Have taken many friends and relatives for meals here, and they all would come back, for similar reasons, Favourites are the steak night, and Seafood pasta dish, For sure one of the best tradional pubs in Melbourne for quality food and atmosphere. Great Young Henry's Ginger beer on tap. Tell them Richard sent you to MONA CASTLE!

Only have good words for this place, very nice little "back street" pub. The food is good, beer is cold, and a good little beer garden.

One of the bar staff obviously didn't want to be working there on the day we ate there, but perhaps she was having a particularly bad go of it. Otherwise, I'll be returning again soon!

There was a big group of us, and we weren't rushed at all for a family lunch. It was a busy day and the atmosphere was great. Every meal that came out, smelt and was flavourful. We had the seafood pasta, the mushroom burger was awesome, a great change to a meat burger, amongst other dishes. Must book as this place is busy, and there is plenty of parking. Great day out.

Good local pub. Fixed up well but maintains a local atmosphere. Don't get here too early in the night as may be crowded with kids but does nicely for a couple's quick walk for dinner, drink and back home.

This has been my local pub since they reopened. I could not fault this place the service is amazing. The staff are so attentive and the owners are always around making sure everything is running smoothly. It is kid friendly and dog friendly which I love. And I also love coming here for dinners they are delicious best parmas in the west in my eyes.
And steak nights on Wednesdays are delicious.

You can't go wrong having a Carlton Draught on tap in the beer garden and a $20 steak every Wednesday. Be careful with the parking around the area during permit zone hours. There is usually plenty of parking on Victoria street (adjacent).

Nice local pub in Seddon close to the station. Has a good sized courtyard, doggy friendly. Very basic but cosy. Open fire inside for cold evenings.

Monday is Parma night for $18. It was cooked well and a very decent sized portion.

Excellent local pub. Great food. Decent beer and wine list. Front bar for casual beers and rear area for dining. Went with our 7wk old for the roast on a Sunday night and the staff were very responsive and helpful. Plenty of others in there early with prams and young kids. Place is definitely worth a look in. Recommend the roast and apple pie!

Lovely new fit out and the food is very good. Good to have a good pub in the area again. My only gripe is it would be great to have some better craft beers on tap. Hop Nation, Bonehead etc. It would go down great.

Decent pub meals with fairly standard offering on menu. Chips could be crispier.
Limited tap selection but some good pales on offer. 3 different TVs in main room all switched to different sports so good if you're wanting to watch while you eat. Assume they play sound for major games.

Can't fault the service or the food. Had table service for our drink in dining area .. staff were very attentive... food was big and wholesome... had the very generous sausage roll for starters and then bangers and mash... beer was fresh... and some good Shiraz by the glass... good atmosphere in the place too... I have only one
minor suggestion... I thought the walls needed a bit of decoration... but I'll definitely be back

Game changer for Seddon! Cozy little pub with great food and friendly staff who go out of their way to meet your needs. We went on a Sunday afternoon and hung around for the night, the staff were able to get a table together for us last minute and very easy going about it. Highly recommend!! Parma best I've had in a long time!!!!

The wonderful staff at the Mona Castle were amazing.
Faced with a noisy environment in one part of the dining areas they kindly moved us to a quieter area, as the noise was over stimulating our autistic daughter, even turning the music down in the new location.
Their attentive service and the quality of the food means we will certainly return and also highly recommend to our friends.
Thank you very much ladies for making our lunch memorable and enjoyable!

Checked out the new Mona Castle since it re-opened for a lunch on a Sunday. Such a great little pub, great selection of beers on tap and food was amazing. This will quickly become the best pub in the west. Can't recommend highly enough.

The staff in the dining room were super friendly
