Goat beer in newtown! Lovely beer shop and its brewery. They have billiard, arcade machine and lovely variants of beer. And they had my name as their type of beer, offcourse i must try it 🤣

They only do their home brew here. Beer stated a bit weird to me but I think I may get used to it. Too much bitterness. Bar man is very generous for offering us plenty of sample beers. Excellent food. American style pizzas got a real nice pull. Fries is very good!

Came for a meal and a couple of beers and everything was amazing.
Steak sandwich was really good.
Had a tasting paddle of a few different beers and ultimately my favourite was the fancy pants amber ale.
We'll definitely be back.

Love the vibe here. It's a great place to hang out with a variety of beers to choose from that they brew. The decor is unique and the space is comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely keep coming back.

So, the fam and I were craving a bit of a vibe switch-up and decided to hit Mountain Goat Newtown for dinner. Honestly, it turned out to be such a chill spot.Right off the bat, the place has this super cozy vibe. The way they've set it up with the lighting and the tunes in the background just makes you wanna sink into your chair and relax. After a week of the usual hustle, finding a spot where you can just let out a sigh and enjoy some quiet is gold.Now, about the crew workong there - even though the place was buzzing and they looked like they had their hands full, it didn't take away from how welcoming they were. wvery one of them was all about making sure we were taken care of, popping by to check on us and keeping things moving smoothly. Big thumbs up for the service.

Just down from the train station at King St Newtown, the Mountain Goat is a micro brewery and a great place to spend a few hours. Not only do they have a vast range of beers they brew, but they also have great food. Of course if you're not into beer, they have your usual wine, spirits and cocktails.
I had the fish and chips which came with salad as well. Very tasty with crispy chips and a great salad. The fish was one of the better I've tried in a while.
Wife had the salt and pepper squid which was delicious.
Certainly a place to have a few beers and great food. Plenty of room as well so your not in too of each other, with an outdoor area as well.
When you go you can buy a few cans of your favourite brew.
If you are into your beers, they have the taster paddles or just ask at the bar to try before you buy.
I'm certainly coming back.

Nice spot to grab drinks and have some food. Tried the popcorn cauliflower which was great but I recommend sharing as I felt a bit nauseous after eating the whole portion!! The staff is really friendly and I am obsessed with their Dog Wall.

We've had a nice afternoon with tasty beers and friendly, fast and courteous service.
The place is interesting with cool decorations and as a highlight the brewery just inside.
The restrooms were clean and enough space and we were able to change our little daughters diapers in there.
I can highly recommend to spend some hours there and next time I will be keen to try the tasty looking food.

Decent margarita pizza. The crust was burnt. Delicious Goat ? hard cider. Good music and vibe. No AC so hot in summer but nice to sit at tables facing the street and getting the occasional breeze.

I had 3 different beers yesterday and I didn't like the flavours. All too fruity and overwhelming taste of yeast. The bitterness is missing. The schnitty was good but way too thick, $22. Not your normal pub schnitzel. French fries were awesome. We ordered bubbles for $55 for the bottle but they should take that of the menu. Ricca Terra Pet Nat. Terrible overwhelming smell of rotten egg, like sulphur. Didn't taste good. We all said the same. Cider on the tap was good.

Wonderful open space. Fabulous food at a reasonable price (you can't beat their schnitzel). Friendly to all two- and four-legged creatures. My new local.

We have our local neighbourhood dinners here and couldn't ask for a better venue: Kid and dog friendly, laid back vibes, lovely staff and tasty food. Green Goddess Salad is delicious! Thank you Craig and Team for looking after us! We'll be back!

Amazing microbrewery, delicious craft beer, great staff. We had a big high school reunion here and the staff couldn't have been any more accommodating and the beer any more delicious. Thank you Macca and Mountain Goat Brewery leges! =)

Our recent visit to Mountain Goat Brewery in Newtown was absolutely delightful! We decided to bring along our toddler for a weekend outing, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and at ease.

We ordered the burger, and oh boy, it was tasteful.

The staff at Mountain Goat Brewery were not only friendly but also very attentive to our needs. They noticed we had a toddler with us and promptly offered a high chair, which made dining much more comfortable for our little one.

Despite being a popular spot, the patrons were a great crowd. We also appreciated that the music wasn't too loud, allowing us to have conversations without any difficulty.

Nice brewery with an industrial theme. Great selection of tap beers although not all were to my liking. The staff were friendly and the tables clean. The pizzas are particularly good too. The bar seating overlooking king st is a nice spot for a few drinks while watching the people go by.

I visited Mountain Goat in Newtown for the first time in January and had an awesome time. Venue itself was nicely laid out and staff were super friendly.
Also the first time trying their beer since being back in Australia and all the beers I had were super tasty ??"?
Definetly worth of a visit if you fancy a cool brewery with delicious beers, I already can't wait to go back.

Nice place to hangout with friends. Impressive to see the distillery equipments. Generally good food, the squid is on point and the soft shell crab burgers are very satisfying. However, there might be a mistake with the pizza because it was overly salted.

Spacious, great range of beer (loved the stout), standard menu with pizzas and burgers. Has kid menu and is dog friendly. Have kept returning to the brewery as it's relaxed, laid back and we'll priced. Offers takeways, $16 for 6 pack which is excellent value.

Didn't meet expectations unfortunately. Both the burger and wings were meh. Even the beers were uninspiring too. So many good breweries in Sydney/ NSW to come back

Love it! Mountain goat always has something new. Their IPAs are some of the greatest in the city, specially if you love high alcohol % content stuff. When you come to the craft brewery, you want to explore some new worlds, not just have another pale ale and this place certainly has got that!

Exceptional customer service with very helpful and friendly staff. Got to have a really great chat with some of the staff while tasting all the wonderful selections they had on offer. Great atmosphere for small or large groups.

My 3rd time there, this time took my brother in law with me. He likes the basic flavours, I love more complex flavours. We got 2 paddles, so 8 flavours. We tried all, my brother in law loved the lighter flavours, lagers, XPA's. I liked the triple IPA's & stouts. So go try what you like, then try the flavours you don't, need to consider the time & effect the brewer has taken to create the flavours.
All is good, but try everything, just expand your taste buds.

It's cool! Nice big dog friendly beer hall , really decent range of alternative brews too - if you like what mountain goat do for their bottle shop stuff, it's really nice to try their smaller batch stuff. Good work

An outstanding local brewery, with the friendliest staff I have ever encountered, anywhere! Having recently moved to the inner west, I have been trying to decide what is my favourite local beer. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Goat Lager, but thanks to the exceptional guidance and hospitality provided by Jonah, Andre and Ash. I now realise that the Goat summer ale is my favourite beer. It is a crisp, refreshing beer, very easy to drink, absolutely delicious. I cannot fault this place, I have been made to feel so welcome. My new local hangout, (wife permitting). Absolute champions the goat team, including George and Allan the doormen. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Great layout, right in the brewery. Massive space and good lighting. Food was great (well, the chicken burger was at least). Would have liked to try more, but I am but a mere boy. Didn't even go a beer (regret that now) as I was too hungover. Looked awesome though.

I grabbed a tasting paddle as it was only $12 and I could not decide what to have. The sample volume was quite generous in my view and good value especially if you want to try the barley wines.

Anyway I recommend this place and I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing, so spacious and full of light, one can see it is brand new and it's great to have "something different" in Newtown. While I prefer local beers, Mountain Goat still deserves 5 stars because of the amount of beers they have on tap, its reasonable pricing and the friendliness of the staff, from security at the door to the bar, everyone was smiling and making sure we were having a good time. Just a tip: if you are 4 people or more, I seriously recommend you book a table as it was very crowded when we went on a weekday. Looking forward to coming back soon!
