We spent a weekend in Whitfield for an anniversary and birthdays. Dinner on Friday night was such a great experience that we went back again for dinner on the second night. Dining room was friendly and cosy, the staff were friendly and offered great suggestions for local wines. The meals were a great size and delicious - handmade pasta, vegetable stack, steak special and cheesecake. Our only disappointment was that the weather wasn't any nicer and so we couldn't sit out in the gorgeous looking beer garden! We'll just have to come again another time when it's warmer.

Lovely, welcoming pub right on Jessie's Creek in Whitfield. We had the dog with us and had walked down from the caravan park for dinner. It was close to freezing and the young lady from Colorado who greeted us at the pub lit the outdoor gas fire straight away - and as we had forgotten the mat for our 14 year old dog so he wasn't lying on the cold bricks the young lady volunteered one immediately. Impressed - and we hadn't even seen the menu yet !
Started with a couple of glasses of delicious mulled wine for openers and then a mains serving of the meatballs and a chicken parma. Both absolutely delicious. Unfortunately no room for dessert. You will not leave hungry ! True country hospitality and astonishingly one of the staff walked one of their elderly diners home as it was well after dark. We would visit this gem again in a heartbeat.

Great place to stop and have a meal. The atmosphere is really nice. Country feel but nice beer garden too. We had a meal off the menu, the pasta, and a special, the brisket and they were absolutely delicious. Also tried two of the cocktails at the recommendation of one of the staff, which were very nice too. The customer service was excellent. Very friendly.

My son and I had dinner at the Mountain View. Cold outside and cosy warm inside. The Parma and gnocchi were great, coming out surprisingly fast. The staff were awesome and very knowledgeable of the local wines on offer.

We stopped for lunch on Friday. I had the steak, wife had the ravioli. Not the typical pub meal, 5 star restaurant quality. Great chilled atmosphere. Great selection of local beers and wines which really showcase the best of the region. The best meals we have had in as long as we can remember.

Excellent pub on the main road of Whitfield. Great convivial atmosphere for a chilly Wednesday. Our server was excellent, even taking a photo of my daughter and I at the end of our meal. The food was fantastic, especially the barramundi special. Would dine here again.

April 2024- we ate here on a Saturday night and it was really lovely. The dining room is well decorated, the service is friendly, the pub is located on the centre of town, the drinks and food are well priced and it is not noisy which makes for a pleasant meal.
We ordered the MVH fried chicken which was a very substantial entree, followed by the lamb backstrap and side of seasonal vegetables. All were very tasty.
Would definitely return if in the area.

I loved this place, the food was beautiful cooked and prepared. The atmosphere was peaceful, lush and green. The staff were super friendly and accommodation. The only downside was the cost of my Barramundi ($48), which was the days special - they didn't advise the cost and the size of the dish (I was still hungry after). I would definitely go back again (and maybe order off the specials).

Beautiful place surrounded by trees amidst nature. They provided a complimentary breakfast which was really good for the elderly people in the group. The food is awesome. They heated up our home cooked food for someone who cannot have outside food which is really a nice gesture. Very helpful and friendly staff in the hotel.

One of the best dining experiences my partner and I have ever had!! The food was delicious!!! Huge!!! Fit for The King of Rock!! Steph is an absolute legend!!! Phenomenal.we would give a million stars if we could!! As Arnie said!! I'll be back!!

What a great place! Love the atmosphere, the setting, the staff and the food. Really accommodating for a larger group with kids, and even went above and beyond when the youngest accidentally locked herself in the toilet!

Food was phenomenal but what made it great was the wonderful service from Caroline and Anne. They were attentive and kind. Made the experience 10/10 would definitely return. Best meal I've had in a long time!!

Great spot for a cosy meal and a drink. Very friendly staff, excellent food, lovely setting with a small stream running through the garden area. Great! Would be amazing in warmer weather to sit outside.

Can't speak highly enough about the hospitality, food, cleanliness of rooms and overall experience on this overnight stay in Whitfield. This venue should be so proud of its staff, all of whom were a delight to chat with and were very attentive to all our needs. The food was perfect, 10/10... can't wait to get back there and enjoy a few pints in front of the fire.

Came here for lunch - service and food was fantastic. Staff were accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Chef and kitchen staff did an excellent job with our food. Would definitely come back again! Thank you to everyone for a great experience. Special thanks to Caroline for being a fantastic host.

The last thing you expect in the country is to walk into a country pub and get A1 table service.
Extreamly friendly staff and the most beautiful food and wine.
I never give 5 stars because I feel there is always room for improvement no matter how good you are but this place was top notch... Well done. We will be back.

This is a hotel/restaurant. I don't think it offers accommodation.
The food options and service are very good. The owner/manager supervises everything carefully.
It is a lovely place to sit in the outdoor area on a sunny autumn day. The King Valley is particularly spectacular in autumn.

The dining room is definitely a cut above your average country pub. Great wine list of local wines, mainly Pizzini wines - who own the pub but also some good choices from other local wineries. Food options where a cut above too although some basic mistakes in presentation

We stopped by for lunch and we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table.The staff were exceptional, attentive and friendly. The food was perfect. Will definitely recommend to others. Emily in particular was efficient and accomodating and ensured our visit was one to remember.

Staff great ,attentive but not obtrusive. Menu varied and was easy to find item. Large beer and wine list."local" businesses given priority which is good. And beer garden is 5 star. Toilets were spot on whereby some great places forget that places are also judged on the Loo.

This pub came highly recommended for boy service and its food and it certainly did not disappoint and it exceeded our expectations. The handmade pasta was to die for and the bar staff - Charlie in particular were awesome. A must do if in the area. Can't wait for next time. Em and Angus

Lovely place to have an enjoyable meal. Food is flavoursome and promptly delivered. The beer garden has an excellent atmosphere with many plants and trees enclosing you away from the street hustle. A genuine hidden gem in Whitfield.

Great place. Have been here a couple of times while visiting the king valley and always found it fabulous. Service is always friendly and food much better than any pub / hotel we have visited in a long time. Lovely "feel" inside and out.

We stopped by on Grand final day for lunch we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table. We sat in the garden with a beautiful stream flowing beside us. The food was perfect l ordered battered flat head tails which were cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely recommend to others it's certainly worth the day trip up from Melbourne. We will be back.

We stayed here after we had a hosted lunch at Dal Zotto. It was within walking distance. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was superb. The quality of the service and menu suggestions by the staff were really welcome. The food was delicious. You should give this a try.

Excellent food on a Saturday lunch for six of us and excellent attention from our waiter. All comments positive on the quality of the meals.
Heaters were positioned to ensure we were warm on a Winter's day outside under cover. Our dog was made welcome and water provided as well as a treat. Recommended

Very good service. Staff where very friendly. Looked after the kids extremely well. Colouring packs came out the moment the kids sat down, Kids food came out straight away, and even happy for us to bring dogs. Food was very good too! Thanks

A great example of a "destination restaurant ". Whitfield is a very small settlement but can rightly boast it has a very good pub. Large beer garden set amongst the trees, creek and plants. Food delicious. Do yourself a favour and make the journey.

We were welcomed for lunch by lovely smiling faces and fantastic customer service. We had two border collies with us for lunch and the staff were not only open to our dogs but made us feel so welcome which is a nice change! The service was great, and the food was such a nice breath of fresh air. Perfect meals. Thank you so much for being so good at what you do, we really appreciate it! Until next time :)

We were a group of 27 and all went very smoothly. The food was excellent and the drinks too! Didn't think to take photos until dessert - this was the lime pie! Thanks staff for serving us so very well. Thanks Cooks for good food. Excellent.

Amazing ambiance in the outdoor dining room, and delightful, knowledgeable service from the staff. Food was great and the local wine list excellent. Chips, and chocolate tart were highlights! A genuine pleasure to dine here.
