Stopped here overnight in a hotel room, found the staff fantastic the food over delivered, ordered the beef cheeks, sensational the best I've eaten, cold drinks available and if you get a flat tyre that can be fixed.
Camping is available with showers and toilets open 24 hours.
You'll find some great memorabilia on the walls.
Great stop midway Maree to Birdsville.

Congratulations to dazz and his team

The meals were fantastic. Rooms are bare minimum - no kettle or toaster. Showers are nice and hot. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

In the vast expanse of the outback, this spot is nothing short of sensational. It's the kind of place that demands you pull over, kick back, and enjoy its unique vibe for a day or maybe even a tad longer.

An iconic hotel situated on the Birdsville Track.
The sunrise/sunsets here are amazing.
You can either camp here, or stay in one of the small rooms.
Toilet and shower facilities are available if you're camping.
The beer was all in cans, but it was cheaper than some other less remote places I'd visited.
The food (only had dinner here) was pretty damn good.
You should expect the fuel to be expensive, but you'd be silly to think otherwise.

Make sure you have enough fuel and food so you can drive straight past.
Very expensive 2 toasted sandwiches and two beers $40, which I think is expensive
30 cents dearer (on the day) than the towns, either side and freight, isn't that expensive ( I know I work in fuel freight)
If you don't have to stop then don't.

What a hidden gem!
We stumbled across this place accidentally!
Staff bloody awesome! Friendly and welcoming! Food delicious, hot pressurised showers. Clean bathrooms. Free wifi and there's a Telstra phone box at the front door which is free to use. My daughter loved calling family from this "old style phone" ?
10/10 ??

The best bathroom of donga in the outback so far (room )! Very relaxing at the spacious verandah. Small cozy room, nice heater, quick hot shower, free Wi-Fi.

Excellent chef, friendly staff and great service. Beef cheeks highly recommended. Great atmosphere in the bar.

Many birds nearby the creek bed. Pretty sunset.

*No kettle/fridge/closet in the room.
*No fire in the BBQ area yet.
*Wall is a bit thin to hear the snoring of neighbor :)
*Be careful not to knock yourself out of bathroom which can't be opened by room key.

The new owner Darren (not that the last owner was bad) is great, the food was great. It's a classic outback pit stop that I reckon is illegal to drive past without stopping in. We pulled in for a few cold beverages and a meal and ended up staying for 2 days ???'???'???? Ya don't travel the Birdsville track to drive straight past Mungerannie hotel. Stop in and spend a couple of bucks and keep this iconic pub open.

We stopped here for night while doing the Birdsville track. They have unpowered sites $10 pp/pn which included using the amenities block. The spots are along the tree line. Not a bad overnight stay. We had dinner at the pub and it was so delicious. They also did a small slice platter for us for on the road which cost us $15. Pets are allowed just remember to clean up their do dos ?

What an absolute cracker of a place in the middle of nowhere! We had a quick (unexpected stop) on our way from Birdsville to Marree and had one of the best hamburgers ever! The staff were absolute characters and handled themselves really well given the amount of traffic heading through. Would highly recommend.

A stop you must do on Birdsville track. They have cold beer and exquisite food at a very reasonable price. Tony and Bush were excellent hosts, we felt like home in the outback's thanks them. Here we found what we needed, petrol, clean toilets and showers, a really nice iconic pub. We definitely recommend this place and would come back again. Thank you again Tony and Bush
