Myrtle Bar & Kitchen

My husband and I were here recently for a meal. We accidentally booked the wrong date, but the staff were great and got us sorted out in no time. I have to say, this is up there with one of the best dining experiences I have had. The dining room is beautifully decorated, quite dark and moody and there was plenty of room between each table which made the meal feel very private and intimate.
The service was perfect, every server that came to our table was friendly and attentive and they seemed like they really enjoyed working there. The food was delicious, especially the desserts! I had the cocoa pavlova and I would come back again just to have that! I didn't actually take any photos because I put my phone away and really enjoyed the whole experience. We had a wonderful time here and will 100% be booking again the next time we visit the area. Thank you to all of the Myrtle team!

I recently dined at the Myrtle Bar & Kitchen, and I have to say, the share steak was absolutely divine! The atmosphere was fantastic; the music was at just the right volume, allowing for great conversation. Our hostess was attentive and welcoming, which truly elevated our dining experience from a 10/10 to a 15/10. I highly recommend this place for a wonderful meal!

My wife and I enjoyed a night out to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary.

I had my eye on myrtle for quite some time and decided that then was no better occasion to book a tabe (bookings highly recommended, up to a week prior).

From the moment we walked in, to the time we departed Myrtle Bar & kitchen, we were welcomed, respected & felt extremely comfortable.
The power house, husband & wife working the floor were great at generating conversation without intruding on our privacy, timing our need for drinks and food perfectly. Making suggestions for our meals and reinsuring us on the good decisions we had made.

The meals were divine, a real treat, and a quality that exceeded many other restaurants in the area. Sure, I can agree that the cost is also extravagant, but you get what you pay for, and i know most people couldn't afford to do this on a weekly basis, but for a special occasion it's a must try & I think once you've been it'll be a place to on your list to go back to.

I am so bummed I forgot to take any photos to post with this review, but that probably just proves how good the food was.
I had a shared rib eye with the cauliflower and cheese and potato sides (and borrowed some fries from our friends we dined with that ordered the fries). The steak came out cooked perfectly (medium rare as ordered) and full of flavour. The sides were lovely and unusually, we even ordered from the dessert menu.
All the desserts were lovely, but the pick of them certainly appeared to be pear dish from the specials menu that day.
The food and service were amazing, and when I get back there again, I will try to remember to snap some pics!!

What a tucked away, surprising little gem! Its petite facade hides a beautifully presented dining establishment. Greeted by name at the door (we are not locals) was a pleasant surprise and we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely beautiful. Shared prawn entree was delightful. Brisket and eye fillet were just perfect. No steak knives or additional seasoning necessary! The bernaise sauce was amazing too. Two shared sides, everything was sized just right for two. Two cocoa pavlovas for dessert topped it off. It was the best meal we've had on our Great Ocean Road adventure. Well worth a visit if you're looking for great food in a lovely environment.
