North Fitzroy Arms Hotel, Fitzroy North VIC

Came for a late Saturday lunch and sat at the bar. Service was welcoming and friendly, food was fantastic. Unpretentious, thoughtful and well executed menu with the classics plus seasonal additions. Just what I've always wanted from a pub menu! Gotta get around the home made snags, herbaceous risotto, retired dairy cow burger and ghee fried pork cutlet!

Tried the pie and mash with green sauce 🥧 Beans, Carrots and Cheeseburger
Beers on tap there obviously. I got the pale ale which is from a brewery not far from this pub in Abbotsford 🍺

This is the second time I've dined here in the new dining room and absolutely loved it. Our food was delicious, the wine choices were excellent and the service is warm and friendly. Love that the quality waitstaff look you in the eye and engage personally. The whole place was hopping this eve and seems to have an inviting space for everyone in a diverse crowd. Can be noisy but both times our table of 5 has been able to chat and hear each other. Really pleasant and enjoyable place that we'd highly recommend. Prawns and steak were guest faves!

An old school pub with standard beers on tap, great for catching up with mates and/or to play a little bit of pool.

At the back is where things get really impressive. There is a dining room which gave off an unpretentious fancy feel with ridiculously incredible food (which is available in the whole premises).

I tried a whole array of dishes and they all knocked my socks off!
Entrees I tried were: olives with candied lemon, roo salami with pickled beetroot and chicken liver parfait all delectable in their own way.
Then when you think things couldn't get any better, the mains were out of this world.
I had the tagliatelle - tasting this you knew it was hand rolled only meters away from your table.
My mate said their beef cheek & ale pie was the best they've ever had.
My other mate's BBQ chicken which I tried - was a flavour bomb of that charcoal smokey flavour combined with the sauce that came with the lettuce.

A typical Aussie pub with extraordinary food offerings is a gamechanger and will appeal to any folk that wants to have a beer alone or dine with in a group, this place has it all.

An amazing venue across the board and a great addition to the neighbourhood post-renovation. The space harnesses the charm of the original spot with a contemporary twist, as does the food.

Really love that there's Guinness on tap. All the food is awesome too - especially the retired dairy cow cheeseburger, the pie floater and the chicken liver. It's not fussy but clearly well executed and ticks all the boxes you'd want from a pub. Can't wait to go back.
