This place is centrally located
But the room was very cold. We reported this to management three times.
We even set the temperature at 35.5 degrees Celsius ( most settings only allow 28 degrees) but after two hours the room was not warm. It was warmer in the lobby foyer than in our room.
I would not stay at this hotel in winter

From check in to departure the whole experience was excellent. The room was comfortable, the shower was very good. The buffet breakfast was the way to start the day. One block to Wynyard railway station. Patrick was so helpful on check in. I would recommend this hotel if you are going to Sydney for business or pleasure. The other team members were great and helpful.

Great stay on many levels. Great customer service, very clean, buffet breakfasts were wonderful and especially the fresh juice maker with fruit and veg right there to use machine-brilliant! Room service great and kids size meals a good size. Lifts are quick and 3 to use when hotel was crowded so you are not waiting long. Pool a great temperature being heater but much smaller than the photos depict on website. Gym well facilitated . Great value for money too . Nice and close to tram line and so easy to get to Circular Quay and connect to trains and all places . Honestly can't really fault.

Clean room and bathroom. Comfy beds. Please put anti slip mat before shower as it can get quite slippery.
Travelling 4 of us but only has 2 cups & saucers in the drawer?? Nice selection of teas.
What we like the most is the LOCATION. Only walking distance to Chinatown and Darling Harbour, lots cafes and restaurants nearby. Parking was easy, pay upfront at the Hotel beforehand, or if you enter the car park before paying like we did, just go to the Reception, once you've paid, they'll issue another parking paid ticket. Multiple entry and exit during your stay. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

Great location in the middle of Chinatown. Walkable to most of Sydney attractions. Staff was helpful and pro active. Swimming and gym area was clean and tidy. Restaurant is very welcoming. Only downside was check -in, There is normally long queue to check -in and only one or two members of staff on reception.

After a disappointing experience at another hotel that left us somewhat stranded, Novotel was absolutely amazing. A quick 5 minute call was all it took to have a room reserved for us, with Rachel being exceptionally helpful and friendly over the phone. She happily answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable, and was even nice enough to find a cheaper rate after already quoting me a price. The reception staff were amazing and had us parked and checked in in no time. Regina was super friendly and an absolute delight to interact with. The hotel is very well presented and our room was spotless with everything cleaned perfectly. The pump soaps and lotions in the bathroom are a nice touch compared to other single use soaps at most hotels. We were also pleasantly surprised by a NYE gift of champagne and a box of snacks waiting for us in the room after watching the midnight fireworks, a very nice gesture that made our stay even more memorable. I cannot thank the Novotel Sydney Central staff enough for accommodating our NYE holiday with such short notice and for being so friendly throughout the entire process. I would most definitely stay here again next time I'm in Sydney.

The property is too old for the Novotel brand. Pool is small. Doesnt have an Executive Lounge or a replacement of the facility. Suite comes with minibar but was told replenished once every 3 days. Suite pretty empty. Whole hotel dont have a body weighing scale. ALL Diamond member but didnt even get a welcome note of the benefits

The rooms are clean and well decorated. The bed was strange, rolled into centre. The aircon unit was centrally controlled so buzzed all night. Staff were so lovely. Breakfast is not recommended, especially in central Sydney with endless options! The pool is great.

We stayed there for a night to celebrate my birthday. The hotel was very generous with compliments to make my birthday extra special. Indeed, they helped me enjoy my birthday.

As per the location, the hotel is just 7-10 minutes walk Central Station. There are several restaurants, cafes and supermarkets nearby. It is short walk from Darling Square and Paddy's Market. In short, very accessible.

The room amenities were good enough for the price we paid for. The only concern was the lift that taking too long to arrive when it was peak hours (like check in/out).The buffet breakfast was a wide spread, even my kids enjoyed it. It's just sad they do not re-heat outside food (for my fussy-eater son)

But all in all, we had a wonderful stay. We achieved the goal of relaxing weekend. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Hotel is in a great location to my work with convenient parking. Comfortable clean rooms, although I was placed in a room close to the lifts and they were quite loud which kept me up at night. Also in the morning not all the lifts were working and I had to wait 15 minutes for a lift as they were all full. This was at 8am and ended up making me late for the meeting I was in Sydney to attend.

This is probably the worst Novotel that I have stayed. The photos looks amazing. However once you stayed, you will know why this is poorly rated.

Room cleaning is quite poor. They have only empty the bin. No refill on tea bags or free bottle of water.

The bed lamp is poorly design. It is like right above your pillow. So you can easily bang on it when u get up or trying to lie down.

The only good thing about this hotel is location. It is close to Haymarket and train station.

It is definitely not a 4 star hotel and way below Novotel standard. I will say it is only a 3 star hotel.

*The staffs are so kind and helpful with your needs.
Spacious room, toilet is way too small for a gigantic occupant.
*It's a really good location for me as it's just walking distance to nearby activities.
*Restaurant is just on the ground floor and you can also order for in-room service for your meal if you're not in the mood to go out.

Nice hotel with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. A key aspect is the rooms are quiet and seemed to have good sound proofing - making for good sleep and privacy.

Staff are very professional, enthusiastic and patient. The buffet breakfast has a good range without being ostentatious - highly recommend packaging this into your room booking.

Some of the decor is becoming weary but on the whole, a good place to stay.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews but i did not get those same experiences. I stayed for 3 nights and right away was greeted nicely and was given early checkin. The room was clean with 4 large towels, the bed was very soft, and had coffee and tea packets. There wasn't water bottles in the room but nearly all hotels I've stayed at in Sydney didn't so I believe this is not out of the norm. The only thing that bothered me was the shower. Water would splash onto the mat. Housekeeping changed these so it wasn't too big of a deal.

The location for this hotel is perfect for getting around. It's a 5min walk to central station and 6min walk to Haymarket and the Chinatown area which was a huge plus compared to the other hotels around the area for the price.

I had a great stay and would come back.

You want to book Novotel Sydney Central Hotel? Not a problem, make sure that you bring every essential like disposal tooth brushes, tooth paste, body wash and even sleepers or you need to ring up and request them every time when you realize all the essentials are not essentials to the room. Also the generous receptionist will probably ask you to go and pick them up at receptionist. You can train yourself with high level of tolerance about the service and essentials they provide. Thanks to the experience costing me more than 800 dollars for two nights with two star standard. Definitely recommend to you guys who is curious how amazing they can do by shocking you all the time.

Amazing. The beds were extremely comfy and i fell into deep sleeps at night. The pool was good, but it was small. Clean rooms and sanitary bathrooms. The lobby was nicely decorated and the location of the hotel was amazing. The rooms were very spacious and the staff were very nice when checking in. I didnt try the breakfast but it seems everyone likes it. Great hotel to stay at, I recommend to stay here if your looking for a nice, clean hotel.

Booked the accommodation for Novotel brand and security only. But, it was mistake. Starting from the beginning to the end, had a terrible experience.
We booked a double queen bed room. However, the receptionist said, we can early checkin if we opt for a King bed with an additional roller bed. I didn't know it was trap to down-grade. The roller-bed was a bed for patients only.
All the amenities were old. Even the bathroom is not having good space. You can't close the door before squeezing yourself.
We were on 10th floor and one day one of the lift was not working and they took hours to fix it.
The worst part was when the housekeeping took our souvenir boxes which we noticed a day after. When I reported to the reception in the morning, they said, they are going to look into the matter and update me. Waited for hours and didn't receive a response from them. When I followed up, they said, they are looking into it and will keep me posted. During the afternoon, when I contacted the reception, the shift was over for the previous receptionist. So, I had to explain it again. However, no response till the night time. Then we requested to have a chat with the manager (hoping that he/she might help us). But, it looks like they all read the same of excuse. Such a shame. And, as expected, he all said that he will look into the issue and keep me posted. Till now I have not received anything. Instead of feeling sorry for the mess, they are looking for excuses.
I will never ever stay in this place again. And, I also make sure none of my friends are going here.
At least have some courtesy to apologies for your mistake. I chose Novotel for the security reason and found the thieves working there.

Loved every moment of my stay. Rooms were spacious, had amazing views, had everything without requesting, the room service was highly commendable, and overall it simply made me love Sydney evermore! The receptionist Miss Lyndsay was so funny though and cooperative haha!

This hotel is in die need of a revamp of the rooms. If you do not already have dust allergies, you may get it during your stay. Loyalty recognition is not worth it here.

Spectacular location with the distance to central and food options however.

Had a great stay at Novotel Sydney Central over the weekend with my family. A very central location, easy to get to public transport and local amenities. The room was spacious and tidy and made up each day which was lovely. We opted for the breakfast buffet each morning and it was amazing! So many options and the food was delicious - something for everyone. The reception staff really made our stay though. Special shoutout to the young girl who was working the night shifts she was so great with my young children and went above and beyond for us each night which was so appreciated. Would highly recommend staying here ??'?

The staff are very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely clean spacious room. To celebrated our anniversary the hotel gift of bubbles and strawberries coated in chocolate was a wonderfull surprise . The most helpful staff and perfect location. Thank you for everything

Hands down the best hotel I have stayed at in Sydney. Location was great- 5 minute walk to Central station, very close to Chinatown restaurants and 20 minute walk to Darling Harbour area. My room was great, clean comfy bed (a little on the softer side) and quiet.

The staff are so friendly and helpful too, they really make you feel welcome. Special mention to Bradd and the lovely girls that helped me with check in and check out, including storing my very heavy back pack when I checked out! Would Highly recommend.

My family were stranded by Qantas and were able to get a room very last minute late at night. After the most awful day of delayed and cancelled flights, we were greeted by the loveliest check in lady. We greatly appreciated the bottles of water and Tim tams! The room was perfectly clean and very large for the four of us. Bathroom was great and beds comfortable. Buffet breakfast was great the next morning and they even offer freshly cooked eggs to your liking. Cappuccinos were perfect. This hotel is wonderful value for money and all staff were so helpful and friendly.

Absolutely brilliant hotel. Matt on the front desk was really friendly and very helpful. All the staff were amazing - nothing was any trouble when asking for any items such as some cutlery plates and bowls. Downstairs the fire place area is great for those cold days and nights. Pool and spa nice and hot. Although it did cool down it was hot when we got in. Possibly a thermostat issue. Nonetheless amazing place and will be back

Currently doing quarantine here. Staff are really helpful. Nurses are great. Food is nice (vegetarian diet option). Staff are flexible if you need anything delivered. Rooms are cosy enough. Huge towels and great water pressure. Comfy beds. WIFI is sufficient.

Absolutely love staying at Novotel sydney central the staff are amazing; rooms immaculate and the stay is always cosy! The pool is beautiful with a little spa. All you can eat breakfast is our absolute favourite & the cookies on arrival 5/5

I'm staying at Novotel Sydney Central as part of quarantine to enter Australia. I'm on day two. I want to give a shout out to the kitchen staff for the meals. Delicious, varied meals with lots of vegetables and protein in every meal. Even a little sweet treat with each meal. Well presented in takeaway boxes. As a former hospitality worker, I can appreciate the care that has gone into planning nutritious meals that tolerate the takeaway nature of the delivery system. Thank you.
