I stayed at the hotel to attend a business conference. Everything in the room and hotel made my stay easy and pleasurable. I had only a couple of queries with hotel staff and these were handled in a professional and very friendly manner. The room was comfortable and provided everything I needed to get my work done and then to relax after. Breakfast in the restaurant each morning was excellent and set me up for pretty much the entire day. Thanks very much to all at Novotel.

We had a fantastic short stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the action with easy access to nearby attractions. The highlight of our stay was the room, which offered a breathtaking view of Darling Harbour. Waking up to such a picturesque scene was truly a memorable experience. If you're looking for a spot with stunning views and a central location, this hotel is an excellent choice!

My wife and two children had an overnight stay in darling harbour and chose Novotel for its location and reputation. The stay was exceptional, from the moment of meeting concierge to checkout, the hotel staff were like family. Very warm and welcoming, their charming demeanour made us feel so at home. Loved our stay, my only suggestion though, the kids area is awesome but really only caters to older kids. If there was space somewhere down the line an area for under 5yr would complete the family friendly set up. Thank you again for having us!

The location provides a great view of the city Skyline. Light Rail is easily accessible or alternatively a brisk 15 min walk gets you to the heart of shopping. The Suite we booked was large and sufficient to cater for 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff were always friendly and breakfast was great. The rooms could do with a refurbishment to make them more modern. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely motel, beautiful views of the harbour, quiet rooms. Check-in 3pm, however, our room wasn't ready for us to check-in until 4pm. Not good enough, especially when the fridge hadn't even been cleaned. Meals were nice. View from the balcony next to the bar is amazing, looks very pretty at night and staff ensure that the patrons are comfortable and warm with gas heaters & comfy couches.

The festive ambient of the lobby area is everything in this hotel. It is a happy place, and if you are lucky enough to be on the harbor side, your room will have magnificent views. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The staff makes all the vibe wonderful. They are well trained, friendly, and vibrant. We will be happy to stay here again.

We always know what we get when we stay at a Novotel, and this did not disappoint. Rooms were clean and well furnished. The harbour view was lovely and the breakfast had good variety. It's a good location to access many city activities, but at the same time just out of the way to be nice and peaceful.

The hotel is well located with easy access to the public transport system including light rail and ferries. The hotel also has a good restaurant and cafe area although the noise levels were high. There were only four lifts which were completely inadequate to deal with the volume of people, especially with one lift being out of action. The staff were all pleasant and professional, but I was a bit disappointed with the accommodation itself. While my room had a nice view of Darling Harbour, it was marred by an ugly construction site outside the window. Construction noise was audible, starting early each morning until rain halted the work and provided a reprieve. While this is beyond the control of the hotel, there was also no information about this issue when booking so that patrons can make an informed choice. More generally, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean, but the decor and fittings are old and tired, especially in the bathroom. Lighting in the main room is depressingly dingy - even with all lamps turned on, it was difficult to move around and find items in my suitcase. The room was overly warm and stuffy at night, with the air conditioner not appearing to make any difference when switched on. All in all a bit disappointed in what I had hoped would be a wonderful experience.

After a very long day flying in from Cairns to then having my flight back to the UK cancelled. My airline put us up in this hotel for a few hours. Considering it was 4am the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfy too. Also a great view of Darling Harbour.

Stayed here only for a night, loved the location.
It's right on the Darling Harbour, we enjoyed a late night walk on the bridge.
The location was so good, that during the day we explored so many things by foot.
About the hotel & amenities -
We paid a little extra and got the room upgraded to the suite room, which was very spacious for us (especially with a 10 year old).
We got a living & dining space along with the separate bedroom , lot of closets, a bathtub in the bathroom.
We invited friends over in the evening and took them for dinner in the restaurant. The closing time was 9:30 PM, so we managed our timings and were there by 9:25. But the kitchen was already closed at 9 PM and they did not take any order. So, we all got disappointed and went to the room, ordered from the In-room dining menu (very limited options) which was very inconvenient.
The information could have been given clearly, that the "kitchen closes at 9 PM", rather than the "Restaurant closes at 9:30 PM"
The next morning, we skipped the buffet, had A-la-carte at The Ternary (the same one which got closed early last night).
During our 1 day stay, we had all major 3 meals here, food is amazing.
Otherwise, our stay, location, hotel ambiance, staff & amenities were all very good.

Lots of issues here. From the extremely long check in time to the mold in the shower.
Be aware the floors do not have secure access. Typically the floors need you to swipe your room key (there's even a sign saying as much in the lift) but unfortunately you can go to any floor without swiping your card.
The shower had mold in multiple areas, the floor needed a good scrub and the guest 'premium' WiFi was $10 per day. Parking is $65 per day.
There is zero water pressure in the shower and the grouting and painting looks like a first year apprentice did it.
Housekeeping staff took a room key we'd left in the slot near the door to keep the aircon on (didn't leave a note, nothing).
Housekeeping replaced the wet towels but didn't replace the hand towel, face washers or bath mat. I called to get some and asked the rude staff member for them to be sent up; after three hours waiting, went to bed. No sign of the towels.
I will say the size of the room was good but that's about all.
Check out was just as long as check in.
I would never stay here again.

Great hotel in a perfect location for Darling Harbour. The staff were outstanding- couldn't do more for us, which was lovely.
We had a great view of a fireworks display down the wharf.
Very allergy aware - and breakfast buffet had GF options. Rooms were compact but clean. Hotel rooms needs renovation along the way but seriously that's minor.
Will come back again!

The service from all the staff was outstanding! Had a great experience staying several nights at Novotel Darling Harbour. The little things made it memorable, like kids activity packs in the restaurant, the kids buffet, a handwritten thank you for your stay card from a staff member in the room, friendly service with personality (not robotic like some hotels) and a great atmosphere. I think to improve the recreation area including the gym is small for the size of the hotel and the pool is outdoors (an indoor spa would be good for the cooler months). The location is good.

Spent 3 nights here. Booked on the official website so we got a great deal. Yet I regretted adding on breakfast options as it was very boring and although I already paid in advance, the information of the transaction has never been updated on the system so every morning I had to go to the reception to solve this same problem. Wasted my time. However, the rooms were good, with great views, great location, easily access to malls and Chinatown.

Pretty good location, nice rooms, facilities were nice but was only a pool and tennis court, could do with a spa.
Bar was very good with lots to choose from and breakfast area nice overlooking harbour.
Service was by far the best ever experienced.
Would choose over Sofitel any day.

My partner and I decided to come to vivid and stay the night here. We were welcomed with great hospitality and the room had such a great view that is partly the reason why we chose to come to the Novotel.

Things started out very well until, I noticed that we could hear external noises from outside our room coming from the foyer / bar area. I was on the 4th floor and could hear kids, yelling all the way into our room. Also no one stocked our mini bar, there was nothing in it. Not to mention that we paid for breakfast as well just to wait 30 mins to be seated. I could easily walked across the road and got breakfast quicker than that. What topped it for and the reason I'm writing this review is that our room did not get cleaned even though it's all included in the room package. Not one cleaner came to bring us fresh towels. I should not be chasing up staff to get a fresh towel because someone didn't do there job correctly.

For the price we paid for the room and the service that came with it was not worth it.

Amazing location right across from the heart of darling harbour and the ICC. Was comfortable, clean, and had amazing kind service. Hubby and I stayed here with two kids and they had a light show as well as tents set up for my toddlers. Such extra love and care for our first trip to Australia. Lisa and her team were prompt, thoughtful, and swift to resolve issues. To be clear, the issue we ran into was our toddler locking the bathroom door from the outside leaving us with no bathroom. Called the front team and they took care of it in less than 20 min. And kind and happy to do so. No grumpy faces here all week long! Love this hotel. Highly recommend . We will be back when we return to Sydney!

Loved how this hotel was kids friendly and very nice for families. Breakfast buffet was good and the waiters were very friendly. They provided colouring activities for the kids to keep them occupied which was great.
Rooms were clean but the bathrooms can use some upgrading and maintenance. Overall our stay here was great and kids enjoyed it.

Stayed in this hotel for a business trip - 3 days, 2 nights. The room I stayed in was spacious. However, the bathroom fixtures need updating, especially the sink! The food was okay, nothing special. Ordering food from room service after 10pm - you only had 2 choices, make sure you don't go hungry after 10pm! Just bring lots of snacks with you. Location was good, it was nice to walk by the harbour at night.

This is a good place to stay with family.

One of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed at. Room is fabulous, very large with a view of darling harbour to die for. Hotel is stunning with beautiful common areas, restaurant, bar, terraces, outdoor swimming pool, gym and tennis court. Staff are beautiful, so helpful, friendly, pleasant. Having a fabulous time. 5 star all the way. Highly, highly recommend!!

What a service! I took my son to stay at the hotel for his birthday. We've got a room overlooking Cockle Bay Wharf. Stunning view, esp the night view. To me, this is the most beautiful part of Sydney. We love the hotel, this is our second stay this year. Love it. I also love the fact that there's a bath tub in the room which you don't find it available in most hotels. And this time we found a new treasure - Deep Nature amenities which is new to the hotel. They are absolutely lovely. The scent, the freshness, and how my hair feels after the wash. It adds extra points on top of everything else.

Staff were amazing. Room was clean, beds comfy. 2 down lights for the entire room is rough especially when only 1 working. Needed to use all lamps to be able to see anything, reminded me of camping outdoors ?
Bathroom was spacious but pipe under sink looks like its been leaking for a long time.

Nice room and bathtub. Good location. Good service. Great buffet breakfast with very good variety of food with beautiful view.
Room is not well soundproof. I can hear the noise outside of the room.
It is a little tricky to walk back to the hotel, you will need to find the bridge to cross the road.

Never staying here again.
Firstly, this is not a 4 star hotel. On arrival had to stand in a queue for over 20 min, since there was only one person at reception. That was around 12 o'clock at noon- not at night. The check in process was fine and the receptionist was helpful and accommodating.
But then when I saw my "executive" room I was severely disappointed. Firstly, the bed is definitely not a queen size bed, there was no robe and slippers (it's included in the room description), and the bathroom is super old with a shower in an ancient bath tub with hardly any water pressure. Called about the bath robe and slippers and was told that it's on request. True, the housekeeping was quite quick and brought the bath robe and slippers and also extra hangers.

On Friday night we came back from an outing only to find that our key was not working and had to go back to reception and get new ones. My feet were already killing me and the extra trip to reception didn't bode well. The pillows are super uncomfortable and there is no pillow menu like in other 4 star hotels. For ~$400 a night it's absolutely not worth it.

First guy at main reception didn't seem real friendly. Room and beds a bit smal but room and bathroom lovely and clean. Our view sucked compared to what we could of had. Bar and restaurant staff fabulous. Very friendly and great service. Bar and restaurant great place to hang out. Food was great. One thing I did notice on another review was the hotel charged more than the booking.com online price was. The same happened to us.

I stayed here for the 14 day hotel quarantine and I was blown away by the effort the staff and hotel made to make our bad situation as good as it could be. Before going into hotel quarantine I was very anxious to see how I would do without fresh air and sun for 14 days. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. For one the food, was incredible. Absolutely amazing and they gave us a daily option for lunch and dinner which many other hotel quarantine programs do not. They accepted outside orders and deliveries and ran them to your room quickly. On top of all this they ran events such as Trivia, a Wine Tasting and Bingo night that connected the guests to another and provided free prizes which included wine, seafood platters and chocolate. These events really brought the hotel guests together, from some I've connected with and continue to after hotel quarantine. I really can't say enough about the staff and standards of this hotel. I can not wait until I can travel back to Sydney and stay as a guest (on my own terms) at this hotel. Fabulous job everyone (Angela / Andrew / Eric). can't thank you all enough!

I just spent 2 weeks at this hotel under quarantine for returned travellers. The rooms were good size, clean and well appointed. Bathroom was good size with large vanity, shower and bath. The staff were excellent! My special thanks to Laura & Amanda. But also to the NSW health staff, NSW Police Service and the Australian Army. You all provided excellent support and help during some trying times.

I feel very lucky to have been here for my 14 day quarantine, as it's been extremely comfortable, clean and the rooms & facilities in them are excellent...a large fridge big enough for my 'care package' items & even had a bath! The staff are brilliant & so helpful, with any request I made to the Housekeeping team delivered straight away. The food was great & having a choice of 2 options was very unexpected...a highlight of my day was the meal 'knock' on the door! Large room (with 2 very comfy beds) & a large window, so I didn't feel claustrophobic at all and could easily exercise. Great idea about the extra Zoom activities. If it wasn't for missing my husband, the cat & fresh air I could have quite happily stayed another week!! Thank you to the management & team for an enjoyable relaxing 'stay' : )

Great experience so far!! I am on day 8 of my 14 day mandatory quarantine and I am feeling so lucky to be staying here.
The rooms are clean, I have an amazing view of Darling Harbour and I cannot speak highly enough about the food. It's of such high quality, not to mention you get to choose between two menu options for both lunch and dinner. They also accommodate all dietary restrictions, yet still maintain such high quality dishes for all meals.
The staff have all been very friendly and requests I have put in are tended to immediately, which makes me feel like they genuinely care about the experience all of their guests are having, especially during this strange time.

I'm currently on Day 4 of my hotel quarantine at Novotel Darling Harbour and I feel very lucky that I was sent to this hotel! I was immediately put at ease by the staff member who boarded the bus and explained everything to us in such a welcoming and understanding tone. In fact, all the staff have been lovely and welcoming (both during "check-in" and on the phone). The food has also been excellent! The hotel is clearly going above what is expected and are also offering additional perks such as zoom workouts and discounted alcohol/snacks. I hope I will have the chance to stay at this hotel in the near future as I am incredibly grateful for their effort during this unprecedented time. Well done to all the team!!
