Oaks Melbourne On Market Hotel

The location is convenient, but also quite and peaceful. I didn't understand what "unserved" exactly meant when I booked the room, but actually it meant that they didn't change the towels, clean the room or collect the garbage bag. So, I cleaned the bathtub for myself and stopped by the front desk to get a new towel almost every day during my stay. I felt it wasn't so bad because I wanted to save.

This review is for my stay at late 2024 - sorry I just got the chance to write it.

Great location, but the 5 stars is for the service. Shout out to front desk staff Avi for honoring my GHA Titanium upgrade benefit despite the last minute reservation. And adding goodie bag with few cookies to make my check in really memorable!

That's not all. The hotel is also very clean and come with facilities such as gym and pool. Seriously with the price, its very worth it.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was great - close proximity to shops and tram stops. The bed was also comfortable. That's about all the positives.

When I walked in, there was a wet towel in the shower. I thought the housekeeping must have forgotten about it, but no, it turned out the bathtub tap couldn't be fully closed, and without a towel to soak water, you could hear the dripping throughout the night. Not only that, but the bathroom door couldn't even be fully closed as there was no wedge in the door. Worst of all, every time the air conditioning kicked in, there was a bang which sounded like someone closing the door. The soundproofing is also not good, you could hear people in the other room. Wouldn't be staying here again.

On arrival we were met by a rude female receptionist. Asked for credit card did not tell us she was taking a small charge from it only realized when I got alert from bank stating overseas transaction. We were not told to scan card to use lift but we were not the only guests not informed of this.
Rooms are very dated not cleaned properly. We booked 2 bedroom for 4 guests there's only 1 sofa for all of us. All the dining chairs the seating is peeling of so the fake leather is split.
When we asked for fresh towels the dirty ones were left lying on bathroom floor. No ventilation in bathroom which led to unpleasant odours.
Only 1 bar person was pleasant an Asian girl she always smiled the male staff were just rude was an effort for them to serve us.
Only good thing about this hotel is the location.
Would not book to stay here again.

I can't express enough how fantastic this hotel stay was! The hospitality from the staff was exceptional, and the facilities were superb. The breakfast was extraordinary ??" definitely one of the best I've had. What stood out the most was the flexibility they showed with our check-out time. We had a late flight, and they allowed us to check out at 11:00, which was incredibly helpful. Afterward, we went for a walk, and when we returned, they kindly let us stay in the lounge until our flight time. To top it off, they served refreshing lemon drinks in the lounge, adding to the overall comfort and warmth of our stay.
This hotel truly goes above and beyond in treating guests with care and hospitality. I'm deeply thankful for their kindness and the amazing experience we had. Thank you for making our trip so memorable
