The olive tree is a big venue plenty of dining area and a public bar as well the outside bar and seating looks good but I have never been there when in use night time I guess. They have pokies to take your money as well if that tickles your fancy. Regards Kevin Knc Assist

What a disappointment this was.
2 of us dining, 1 drink arrived, had to ask for other one when mains arrived.
Pumpkin risotto was tasteless and dry.
Ordered lemon tart and meringue. Got half way through it and the meringue was so hard that I removed it to eat after the tart only to find there was paper still attached to the bottom of it. I had unknowingly eaten the other half of the paper.
Showed it to the waitress who took it away and showed who I presume was the manager and they quickly scampered back into the kitchen. There was no apology at all.
After some time the waitress stopped in passing and asked if I wanted another one. No thank you was my response.
To be honest, I was totally turned off by the paper and would not have wanted another one.
Again no apology. Whatever happened to good customer service.
Paid full price when we left. Good PR would have been to not charge for the contaminated dessert, but they didn't seem to care at all.
Overpriced and well under par.
Was very disappointed and definately will not be back and will not be recommending this place to anybody.

Very impressed with this venue. For a hotel/pub venue the food was great. I had a steak that was perfectly cooked. My friend had the pork belly and said it was great. Recommend.

Return visit and didn't dissappoint. Beautiful food and friendly service.

Went for dinner had barramundi with vegetables potatoes deep fried looked a week old veggies tarnished and withered tasteless also had stir fried chicken this resembles a soup made with sugar and salt overall a disappointment. Won't be back Service was however good hence a few stars.

Nice food, I had the squid salt and pepper. Cooked to perfection and a nice salad dressing with the meals side salad.

One thing the bar staff needs to know.
You do Not open a can of Guinness and serve it in the can. You MUST open it and immediately pour it into a glass and then serve it with a frothy head. Not flat and tasteless.

Utterly disappointed with the poor quality of our porterhouse steak chips salad and mushroom gravy
Steak was half the advertised 300g weightand overcooked
Use to have the best chips in Sunbury however the quality of the said chip's were sad sorry shrivelled and dry
You could count the number of mushrooms in the gravy on one hand
Salad? NO DRESSING
Whole meal was unpalatable and a huge disappointment to the previously high standards and quality of meals
Then we were accused by the Manager telling her staff that we were 'nitpicking!'
The discussion we overheard between them and shows their inability to take ownership of their inability to provide value for money and then the Manager said we hadn't even said 'sorry'???

Will never frequent this establishment again and ensure we advise others not to waste their good hard-earned money at The Olive Tree

Having written 490 reviews and 450 being for food places, i do not like writing bad reviews. But after much consideration, i am writing this review and its totally correct in my opinion.
We attended as a large group of seniors and one none senior. The food dished up as seniors meals was well below reasonable standard- fish over cooked, parma wasnt even a parma it was a slither of over cooked chicken. Were as the one non senior meal was beautiful cooked and well presented. Also the Coffee was cold. Maybe it was just a bad day. Will not be coming back

Use to love the food here but I think there must have been a change of ownership. Tonight I had the Chicken Kiev with prawns and creamy sauce I was really looking forward to it. When it come out looked good but not much sauce so I cut the chicken in half and there was no garlic butter at all in the chicken everything was dry even the rice. I asked for some extra sauce and 20 minutes later still no sauce I called the manager over and explained to her no garlic sauce and hardly any creamy sauce she really didn't care and went and got my extra sauce by then it was cold and I couldn't eat it. Very disappointing for the prices they are charging. On a good note my mum loved her meal.

We went here for dinner and would say the food was great, the pricing was just a little high for us.
And they wouldn't allow kids meals for adults, which I know is a rule across many shops but think they should offer smaller portion sizes if possible.
Otherwise food was good

Eaten dinner there three times in a couple of months. Food and service have been excellent every time.
Kid's meal is good value too.

Their service was excellent, responsive to our needs and their suggestions and the variety of food that was available were amazing. They were able to deal with all our dietary requests. It's a pub.
Don't get the Senior meals deal.
You get half portions. The cake slice was ridiculous in its tiny size.
They are having a lend of the seniors, the attitude is sort of "your not going pay full price you don't deserve a full meal".
The service from the staff was great.

Went with boyfriend and mum for my birthday dinner. My mum and I both had the porterhouse steak which was so yummy - definitely recommend. We tried 3 desserts, mousse, crumble and sticky date pudding. All were really nice. Staff were nice and professional. Will be back soon!

I love the olive tree hotel! It's my local when I'm back at mum and dads and yesterday we dined for lunch. I was very happy when I saw my absolute favourite dish was still on the menu! I will be very sad if the tandoori stack ever leaves but the other dishes on the menu are always beautiful! Everyone else really enjoyed their meal including my partner who is northern Irish who had the Irish Parma said that the mash was so creamy and it was the best Parma she had ever had. The staff were lovely and very happy to spend some time making our experience exceptional.

Disappointed only that the reviews don't stack up to what this place actually is! Great value, great times and honestly my favourite spot for either a dinner out with family or drinks with friends.

Ordered a Scotch Fillet however I received a Porterhouse Steak, I was told by management that I was wrong and even tried as far as bringing raw meat out to show me the difference between the two cuts of meat.
There is a significant difference between the 2 cuts of meat being texture, smell and taste I know what a Scotch Fillet and it was not on my plate.

I wasn't the only person questioning the Scotch, managements clearly didn't care, I had a choice to eat the porterhouse or eat nothing.

Very good parma & pork belly, salads have a nice dressing & radish slices a win, Dad said his risotto was terrific. We were all content with our main meals. Chips good. Service good. Nice wines too - the brown brothers red was delicious. And finally, the sticky date pudding was well received, sweet enough, & not too sweet. We will be back. Prices fair & competitive for the area. Dinning room open & bright. The Olive Tree is similar to the Sunbury Bowls club (Olive Tree was better) as far as meals & meal quality goes & better than Vic's (Vic's is over priced & should be better for the price they charge) & the Royal Hotel. Finally, the squid was close to perfect- very tender.

A awesome hotel very classy, there is a out door area where you can relax in the sun while having a meal or a couple of drinks. There is a bistro area which is very nice and a great place to meet up with friends or family to have a meal together, the menu has a wide variety of dishes which can cater for all. Not only is the Olive tree hotel a great place it is also a historic building. I definitely give the Olive tree hotel a thumbs up....

Food was ok but portions extremely small. Gluten free menu very limited and nothing special. No gluten free beer and cider very standard. Left hungry and thirsty. Not very good value for money. Service too fast for it to be cooked fresh.

Food was reasonably good. I've had better meals at the OT previously. The service is friendly just a little bit slow to get out drinks orders

Shared the parmi and squid. Parmi wasn't great, probably 2 stars, squid was 5 stars. Chips and salad were standard but the chips were cold and the gravy was watery. Service was slow as well. Other people weren't exactly raving about their meals either which were sliders and pasta but the fish and chips were good.

Generally very good however meal was cold and it took so long to get a drink we were ready to go home. Only offered a free coffee, who knows how long that would have taken. Probably won't go back for a while now.

I took my parents here for lunch on Monday. We were all very impressed with this place. The food was delicious and the service of the waitresses was exceptional. Thanks to Tuulah, Sam and Mel for being so welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this place for a great meal out.

Food was amazing! Hot, flavourful and delicious. Waiters were also really nice, and had great big smiles and provided us with great service. Came here for the first time and loved it. Will hopefully be back soon ?

We Had Lunch under Chad 04/08/2021 we both Ordered the Global Parmas , Spanish and Mexican. I had the Mexican, with veggies and chips! Was absolutely amazing! ThankYou to the chefs! The Veg OMG and Parma was juicy, even down to the chips! Can not fault.. thanks again x

Great food, steak was perfect and no overcook. Had with mushroom sauce...no 1 delicious. No mushroom hair, A1. Also got buy one get one free garlic bread - a nice touch. Service was good, the waitress was lovely. She told us all about her daughter, and her life...She even had sore ankle and work quick. Very enjoyable.

If the meal was as nice as the chips it would get 5 out of 5. Unfortunately, the main dish was Italian Parma. This is the one that should come with Bolognese Sauce. In my understanding Bolognese Sauce is a lovely rich sauce. What was on the chicken was like a blob of paste. It was extremely dry and the meat in it looked like a pesto. It didn't taste like Bolognese. So disappointing as I'd been to the other hotels in the area and for a change thought this would be more upmarket. It wasn't.

We had a private function at the Olive Tree Hotel. Every step of organising the event was made easy by the friendly management and amazing staff. Nothing we asked for was unreasonable. The cost to hire a space was the cheapest I had found in town, but remained at a high standard. The food was delicious and served on time! If you are looking for somewhere to hold a function, consider the Olive Tree Hotel!

Great ambiance with a neatly presented, fresh fitout. The mood lighting is good and enough spaces between tables allows for meaningful conversation.

Food
The Wagyu burger is a generous serving. The meat patty was proper, (no rubbery hard bits). Fresh lettuce, and soft buns.

I recommend the Veal Parmigiana. Very tasty!

Dessert
I recommend the sticky date pudding with cream.

Coffee
The caffe latte is robust in flavour.

The staff are friendly and well presented.

I consider this place a great find. It's not a place you stumble into but more a place you stumble upon.

Very nice and clean place to have dinner and drinks. Lots of space in the bar areas and a large dining area with awesome staff. The bar staff went out of their way to work out a cocktail that my fiance would like. The meals came very quick and were extremely tasty. Will definitely come again next time we are in Sunbury
