Very mid level food for the high prices. Got the Scottish filet and it was a very thin piece of meat. Usually I would expect at least an 8oz steak when paying $42 for a meal.

As a place to drink I'm sure it's great, but for just a dining experience, I would recommend somewhere else.

Inside there was also an overbearing floral scent that was being pumped into the room to cover up the musty sock smell we kept getting whiffs of in the back.

Had a lovely view of the Quay from the upstairs Mrs Taylor dining area.

Entrance is from George Street (via stairs), there were security persons that prevented you from entering from the outdoor eating area but it is flat there (on a slight slope) where I'm sure wheelchair access would be possible.

The band was a hit! A lot of people were dancing the night away ?? It was a bit crowded and we had a hard time ordering beer but all in all it was a good experience. Don't expect to be seated because there really is a lot of people ? Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes! ??'??????'????

We had a lovely unplanned lunch here today. Despite it being busy the service was very friendly and the food was served quickly.
We all enjoyed our meals and the outdoor seating area was the perfect place to sit a people watch.
We've walked past here many times before and never been in, we will definitely go back again.

The Orient Hotel is a fabulous pub right in the oldest parts of Sydney (really in Australia). The food was delicious, and the service was great. Not a bad place to try out if you are heading to the city, I really enjoyed it!

Horrible horrible experience, security, were demeaning, Un professional, disrespectful and took photographs on my friends and I (20 year old girls) and refused to delete them proceeded to threaten to send photos around to bars and get us black listed. Then when manager got involved he denied ever taking the photos and made up lies. Very much a power trip, when asked him to to present his licence he then proceed to say he isn't licensed.

On my first visit, I gave 5 stars! This place is great for Sunday lunch and entertainment. Why I have not discovered this place earlier? Surely, I'll be back.

Had a quick drop in while exploring and was totally impressed. Atmosphere was on point, staff where great, beer temp and food was spot on. Nice job team. I'll be dropping in again.

The Orient Hotel, a place for a cool drink and some food (after 11:30am), multi level bars with outdoor seating. Right in the heart of The Rocks. The weekend markets are just a short walk but are a bit touristy. I give 5 stars because 4 is not enough.

Pros:
Excellent hotel and eatery right along the sea deck. Taste of Chicken burger and Garlic bread was really good. Fresh chicken patty in the burger which is rare to find nowadays. Guniess beer from tap was good quality beer from the tap. Full taste and density of the Stout as it should be. Price is quite good compared to other places. Staffs are good and always warm in behavior. Overall I recommend it to all and would be back again.

This hotel has it act together, The service was fast and the staff were happy to help. Good place for a family meal the food was high quality the rib fillet was cook perfectly and the drinks were ice cold. The location is but a stones throw from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and has views of the Opera House.

Love it! Watched the footy with a beer downstairs, had a meal upstairs ?, came back down to watch some live music. Highly recommend.

Decent venue for food and drinks, a good location ion in the Rocks with varied selection of drinks and a little bit of everything in the menu with standard Aussie pub fare. Note the upstairs bar can get a bit backed up to do orders (for food and drink) on busy nights as the staff there are minimal and work leisurely in pace.
The dining room hostesses/waitresses are good and will work to accommodate you in seating even when very busy

Upper level and kerbside dining very inviting. Centrally located in the heart of the rocks. Always a staple for a decent beer and lite meal. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Today, I tried the cheeseburger, and it was good. Served with chips and ketchup.
It wasn't busy at the time, and there is a lot of outdoor space seating available. The place is located in a nice location and walking distance for a lot of other shops. There is also an upstairs section for dining, potential location for private event.

Aprox 30 of us were stuck in town on a rainy day when lunch plans fell through. The Orient came to the rescue. With little notice they rearranged tables and accommodated us in one of the lovely vintage rooms that have been refurbished. Food was delightful, staff friendly and helpful and we all had a great time. We will be back.

Don't go here. After seeing a theatre show on a Thursday night we were rejected entry by their rude "door man" at 9:40pm saying they were closed. Even though their hours say open till 11pm. Went up the road to a much nicer bar anyway called Tap Rooms with lovely service only to see the pub accept more patrons after us?! We weren't intoxicated or anything, just two ladies who wanted a night cap after seeing some arts and culture in the area. Jerk. Hire new some security with a better attitude.

Friendly service by caring staff. Most people were having lunch in the sun on portable tables and chairs in front court yard. Food was well priced and tasty.

I had a really great time here with my family on a visit into the city. We went upstairs into the Mrs Jones Dining area and the furnishings were very classy, including lovely brass swans filled with fake foilage. All of our food was delicious and everything was reasonably priced, and I would definitely recommend coming here when you want to spend time with the people you care about!

if I could give zero stars I would. Used to come here before Covid and love the place however now it as one of the most difficult places to have an afternoon drink and relaxation... they have to check that you have a tick on your phone that youve signed in and then you have to be seated in certain places... its just ridiculous (dont get me wrong Im happy to sign in to go to places at the moment)...plenty of other pubs to go to that dont do this. My advice as a resident living in the rocks dont come near the place.

Attended a dinner in the private function room on the top floor.What a beautiful room , perfect for a small intimate function, with beautiful views.The food was first class , and the Staff the same.I wouldn't hesitate booking the function room.Well done Orient Hotel Staff !

Great food and service in the upstairs restaurant! I have tried the Kangaroo steak and it was delicious! I will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Place is ok now, but can't get over the fact I got punted for being sober and not drinking.
