Oriental Hotel Tumut

Great service and food that obviously came from a chef not a pub cook. We had the whole oven baked trout with lemon capers and potato salad, chicken schnitzel and chips, both with salad. Good variety of beverages on tap and more in the fridge and spirits behind the bar. The Nutella cheese cake went awesomely with the Kosciusko Pinot noir. Very good family experience.

Absolutely love this pub!! Had my partners 40th here tonight and it was completely perfect. Food was beyond epic and everyone raved about the quality. Loved it all, so grateful to them. Awesome staff too xxx

My table reservation was easy to find. The food came out in good time. All the meals were absolutely delicious. We were all very happy with the service as well. We will be back. Great work!

We had a group of 9 on a 4 day Motorcycle tour and could not fault the location, quality of food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor dining a the front of the hotel. The only glitch was on arrival for our 7pm booking, being told they no longer had one for us suggesting we had cancelled, but then my showing the email confirmation soon had us at a (fortunately available) table very quickly, so not sure what went on there. But would highly recommend!

This place is hit and miss.
I had a scotch fillet last week, it was cooked perfectly Rare and it was delicious - but the Diane sauce wasn't very nice.

I went for a steak last night and My rare steak came our Medium at best, I thought I would treat myself with the creamy prawn topper - big mistake.
For an extra $8 I got a watery and milky bowl of prawns, I was really really disappointed, I was planning to stay around for a few beers but after my meal I wasn't in the mood and I went back to my accommodation instead.
I will probably avoid the Oriental for the rest of my time in tumut and try the other venues in town.
