We enjoyed a delicious meal in the Palace Hotel. My Porterhouse was cooked exceptionally well and it was a very tasty enjoyable dish. My wife enjoyed the Chilli Garlic Prawns in Spagetti. Staff were fantastic. Overall 10/10.

Stayed one night in a balcony room which was fine. Ate here once before so knew to give it a miss. Plenty of reviews explaining why. The internet is terrible. So don't log into Netflix and expect to watch a complete episode of anything on the generously sized TV.

It's a typical old pub, the room smells a bit, creaking floors, thin walls and all a bit shabby around the edges but lots of character and better than a soulless motel.

This review is from about six months ago. I had the most delicious vegan and gluten free pasta I have ever eaten, at the Palace Hotel. All too often, restaurants throw in a cursory meal to cater to this group, that doesn't taste great. Not so here! The Palace hotel kitchen served up a perfectly cooked, tasty, moist and textured pasta that I still remember! Love this pub. Great atmos, amazing building and excellent staff.

We stayed at the Pricilla and it was a really cool and fun experience. It was pretty good for the price and it was right on the Main Street which was convenient. Only thing which doesn't make it 5 stars is that a lot of the things in the room seemed faulty/broken. The shower sprayed water everywhere soaking the floor and we had to mop it up with towels, the air con in the smaller bedroom would go to the temp you set for 10 seconds then go back to 20 degrees, the water from the tap is hot, little things were broken like the kettle handle and the freezer controls. Otherwise it was great but the room might need some maintenance.

The pub is iconic since "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" was made there in 1994.
I had a steak for dinner, the meat was deliciously tender and perfectly cooked. The staff was helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my experience. I recommend this pub for a nice meal? ??'??

The Palace Hotel is a great place to visit and was high on my list of places to see in Broken Hill and it didn't dissappoint. The murals on the walls are fantastic plus it's history and whilst the food is nice but nothing outstanding the overall experience is worth a visit.

Locals should get behind everything that Selina and Esther do for the community. Decent, skilled and hard working sisters. Amoungst the chaos and about to go on stage for Broken Heel, Selina found time to speak with my elderly Mum. A lovely person.

I dropped in for some dinner, and I got the coopers beef stew, and it was absolutely delicious. Lovely atmosphere and food, anyone coming through Broken Hill looking for somewhere to sit down and have a nice meal should absolutely come to the Palace Hotel you won't be disappointed.

Food was generally quite good but some things definitely overpriced for what you got. Even had to pay extra to add salad. We had a table of 6 people. The first meal came out and the second one came out about 20mins later. The third one came out about 30mins after the first one. My husband's and mine were obviously forgotten because other people that arrived well after us received their meals before us. Ours came out about 45mins to an hour after the first meal arrived at our table. No apologies, no checking in. Was pretty poor service. The place was pretty much deserted so no excuse for being busy. The one lady at the bar was also the server. Very understaffed obviously.

Do you want: an overpriced schnitzel that is simultaneously dry and soggy? Do you want: to pay EXTRA for salad or veg? I can't reiterate how ridiculous charging extra for salad and veg is. Top it off with garbage chips that are stone cold and presented in a basket. Then waltz on down to the Palace. What a sorry excuse for a meal. Interior went hard though.

More than just pub food! Very good quality meals that were delicious. Lovely grand old pub with an amazing history. Room was recently updated and access to a beautiful grand balcony.

We had drinks and dinner here and throughly enjoyed our evening. Lovely bar with lots of comfy seating. Friendly bar staff and dinner at the restaurant was great. The beef stew and the stuffed jalapeņos spring rolls were standouts.

Interesting artwork in this hotel. We enjoyed a late lunch (the waitress asked the chef to stay awhile when she saw us pick up a menu) and a few drinks. Definitely worth a visit.

Great decor and friendly service. An icon!
Both quite disappointed with our meals. Steak was gristly, schnitty was dry and oysters were watery like they'd been caked with ice when frozen. Asked for mushroom sauce and got given tomato.
2 stars for great staff and 1 star for delicious jus

Was really worried as a vegan in Broken Hill trying to dine out in a group and get a decent feed. We wanted to go to Mario's (Pricilla fans) and were worried only one vegan option on the menu, a pasta dish ?. Not expecting much was amazed at such an amazing and flavoursome dish, easily the best vegan pasta dish I've had in some time. Would highly recommend this dish to anyone visiting Broken Hill an try out Mario's.

Booked a balcony room, which was nice, but very small room, 2 beds but one bedside lamp, nowhere to hang clothes, stained sink in room but no mirror above it, no towel rails, showers down the hall had seen better days, could do with some plumbing repairs. Food in restaurant was very expensive so didn't eat there.
One positive, plenty of power points.

We visited The Palace Hotel on an October Wednesday night for dinner (one adult and two kids). We were wondering why the rest of town was so quiet and a lot of other places were closed? Well the answer was because everyone was at The Palace Hotel for Karaoke Night. The dining room was packed but the staff asked us to wait while the tables turned over and we were seated on the lounges for about 20 minutes. The food was very good pub grub though it did take a little while given the full dining room. Tables were turning over quickly as the party kicked off next door and people moved into the other bar. We tried the beef schnitzel with mash and veggies, main size spaghetti bol, kids nuggets and chips and then sticky date puddings with butterscotch and ice cream. The staff were very busy but friendly and helpful. The servings were generous but we were able to finish it all. All in all spent about $96 for three people including soft drinks and sharing desserts.

Stayed for a week for work and was shocked at the state of the place.
The room was filthy and had clearly not been cleaned to an acceptable standard.
The bed sheets we're riddled with something as I woke up covered in bites.
The communal bathroom wasn't cleaned the whole time I was there. Towels left on the floors and soap bars all over the cubicles.

No amount of movie novelty can make up for the state of the place and lack of care by the ownership.

Had a decent snitty though to be fair!

A grand old lady that is tired and showing it's age... I have mobility issues but was told with great enthusiasm that we (partner and I) were in a newly renovated room, up 2 little steps to a small side hallway. The room at first sight was elegant as was the bathroom... But! ??

Didnt stay at the hotel but ate there most of the time due to closeness to worksite. And I have to say, it has the best food/consistency I've ever experienced. The steaks were delicious, sides were amazing. The sauces though is definitely the part that takes it to a new level. The depth of flavour in them is above and beyond. Staff service is great too, always friendly and open, will try to help with things, make suggestions etc. Legit would say it's worth an interstate trip just for the food alone.

We stayed for one night... I reviewed the website and contacted the venue - we booked a "Family Room" and was advised it was the only one that could accommodate us - queen bed, set of bunks, shared bathroom. We arrived late, picked up our keys from the bar, and went to our room. The room was anything but a family room! no heating, freezing cold, no towels, bedding was a cotton sheet and light blanket, it smelt musty, lights didn't work - the Balcony Budget Room on the website presented better. After advising staff that it was nothing like what was presented on the website I was told "nothing ever looks like it does on a website does it?". We were given some alternative rooms and found one that was suitable and available - a queen bed, single bed, and trundle (after having been told they only had the room we were allocated that could accommodate us) - we paid the difference in price and settled in for the night. We were put in room 106 which is the Standard Room with Ensuite on the website. The room was comfortable, warm, and well presented.

I don't know why we weren't offered the option of that room when we booked other than the fact we were only staying for one night. If traveling as a family check the room you're going to be given and avoid 225 - it's more suited as backpacker accommodation at best.

I have raised my concerns with the venue before writing this review but have received no reply

Dinner at the Palace restaurant was excellent. The mixed mushroom risotto was delicious. The beef schnitzel was made with a nice thick slice of tender beef and generous in size. The accompanying chips were crispy and salad was good. A good lively atmosphere in the restaurant on a Monday night. Service was quick and efficient and prices reasonable.

The hotel is located in the centre of Broken Hill. Perfect location for any visitor.
Unfortunately the rooms are a bit dated and the walls are paper thin.
We had people staying on both sides of our room, with both snoring it made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Must visit legendary pub in Broken Hill's main street. Has become famous for its appearances in Priscilla Queen of the Desert but is still an icon in its own right due to the magnificence of the building and its interior murals. The front bar is good for a drink and pub grub with the adjacent main restaurant has a top shelf menu but with a higher price tag. Photos are allowed inside but they prefer a gold coin donation.

Iconic hotel, great pub. Picturesque! You can only visit to their downstairs hotel lobby to take photos. However, if you stay there you are allowed to take photos from top floors. Plenty of roadside parking. Curtoues front desk staff. Perfect for photography.

It's a fantastic place to visit especially if you're a Priscilla fan!!!! We went on a Wednesday night which is karaoke night so be prepared to be patient (it's busy!!!). I have to say the food was worth the wait. But it was quite a wait. Almost an hour to place an order and close to 90 minutes to get ur food. Like i said...... u gotta be patient đŸ¤"

The Palace lived upto all our expectations. A quirky check in via the bar was just the right flavour to savour the wall murals before hitting the Priscilla suit and its full on glitz that comes straight out of the film. Dinner was delicious and I don't know how the 2 waitresses kept everyone happy as they run around and must lose weight with the work they did. A great outback adventure and the clock didn't change from SA.

Was booked out the first night we were in Broken Hill so we booked for the next night and had a fantastic meal.
Group of 4 and we had 2 x Chicken Oscar, Sicilian Pasta and Mushroom Risotto for mains and all the meals were fantastic.
We followed up with Nut Sundae, Sticky Date Pudding and Afogato which again were all fantastic.
You don't want to miss out on a meal here so remember to book ahead.
