Palace Hotel since 1877 - Pub in Haymarket New South Wales

Great service, although very busy just prior to a show at the capital theatre . Chicken schnitzel was very good, as was the fish and chips. Both reasonable priced basic pub tucker. The place was rocking, people everywhere, and the service was great, very fast. If you have a few to drink and need the toilet, take a sober person with you. The steps down to the loo are steep.

My friends and I came here for dinner before a show at the Capital Theatre 🎭. I was not overly impressed. I had the chicken schnitzel and chips. It was average at best but not the worst I've had. It's in an ideal location which makes it really convenient if you're going to a show but I am sorry to say that's all it really has going for it. The toilets are down stairs so it's not really set up for people with mobility issues ie wheelchairs. The staff really need to learn about a facial expression called a smile 😊, it's not that hard. The prices are pretty good not too expensive. I don't think I would come back. Thumbs Down😀😀😀

Average food at best. Clearly just heated quickly / thrown in a fryer.
Staff were lovely and friendly and provided a good atmosphere though. Well worth a drink stop but wouldn't bother for dinner given the prices too.

An old pub very near the markets. Featuring indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and a decent menu this place provides new tastes in an old traditional setting. It is definitely not to be missed. I went with the traditional chicken parm - it was good. All I can really say is come hungry as the portions are quite generous and the food is good enough that you will keep eating well after you have filled up.

This place is great. Expansive with a bunch of different seating areas. They had cheaper drinks for right downtown cbd. They had mountain culture on tap for ten fifty, an award winning katoomba brewery.
Live music /DJ on the weekend.
Seemed to be open incredibly late hours, might even be close to 24h
Recommended for a brew while stalking pitt street.
