Peninsula Hotel - Pub in Newcomb Victoria

We stayed here on Friday night.
Before I write review, I want to thank Jack for doing his best and being so helpful.
As for the room/s we were very disgusted by the filthy state of them. The first room we were given had a very foul smell, then I saw the big stain on the bedspread that appeared to be a fecal stain.
Jack then moved us to a second room, but as he opened the door and we went in, there was rubbish on the bench, dirty linen on the floor and a bin full of rubbish as well, it also had a very bad smell.
Jack themoved us to a 3rd room. This is where I was left feeling more disgusted. No pillowcases on the stained pillows, stick carpets, a broken toilet seat, mould on the ceilings, stick stains on the bedside table, TV remote could only turn the TV on or off.
The curtains were torn and dirty and again it stunk.
We were told there would be a microwave in the room for me to heat our meals, but there wasn't.
How the health department hasn't stepped in is beyond me.
At $140 per night it was not justifiable.

The rooms are old and gross.
I wouldn't stay there again.
Spiders everywhere even wrapped in supposedly clean towels.
Taped up shower head.
Party room was freezing cold.
Not enough staff on for a party booking. Long waits for drinks.
Meals were good.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day! The Mother's Day brunch was delicious. It was a great way to spend Mother's Day with my mother in law. would definitely recommend this place. staff was friendly and service was excellent. definitely we will come back. cheers.

Before I write the review I would like to thank the staff for their endless patience to be overworked and underpaid in this dog water establishment, clearly though management don't care about their staff at all and expect the staff to deal with the chaotic mess that management have left for them.

Mother's day my extended family about 15+ people went to enjoy a mother's day celebration and while the three staff were so understanding and helpful I couldn't help feeling sorry for them for being so under the pump, however they were clearly understaffed to deal with the chaos, after waiting for well over an hour for food to start coming including warm bread and butter which was frozen in the center and mussels that weren't even attempted to be cooked correctly, now I don't really blame the chefs for this as they were well overburdened by the amount of food orders coming in but this issue continued to persist including having one of the dishes returned to the kitchen more then once so I wished to speak to the manger but surprise surprise the management didnt think they were needed on such a busy occasion.

Overall, I won't be coming to this venue anytime soon nor will I be recomming this place to anyone and I hope the staff that worked that day have enough self respect to tell management they shouldn't be subjected to such treatment

0.1/10 because I can't get behind greedy Aussie business owners taking advantage of the every man and I wish all the best to the staff that worked there on that chaotic day

Still waiting for my meal. Everyone at the table finished eating 20 minutes ago. The staff that are here are working really hard. Looks like they don't want to pay penalty rates on mother's day and therefore under staffed. Would not recommend. One of our friends pasta had to be returned twice. Inedible.
