Such an epic spot, located amongst working farms we watched sheep being herded. Our four year loved seeing the resident pigs which were friendly, especially if you feed them. Learning about the history of the pub is a great journey through history.

Came here for a drink after a walk to St. Columba falls, it was pretty quiet when we arrived, but the publican was really charismatic and we had a good chat. Fun to give some beer to the pigs, though by the time we came, they were a bit tuckered out. Good atmosphere !!

What a great old style country pub with a great atmosphere, open fire and some great tunes playing. I chose the seafood pasta. It's probably the best I've ever had. If you're in the area, don't drive past without checking it out. Oh and I almost forgot to mention Priscilla - the beer drinking pig. Very cool.

We had lunch here after visiting St Columba Falls (which were spectacular!). Such a cosy pub with plenty of atmosphere and a very welcoming Border Collie. It was a cold and wet day, so we enjoyed sitting next to the fire. We both had the steak sandwich which was yummy! Definitely worth a stop!

Loved this for a tourist attraction, not a cheesy, money making trap at all.
All the animals are gorgeous and living their best lives.
Staff are super friendly and the food was delish and good value for money.
Highly recommend!

A local recommended we stop here on our drive from Darby to Chain of Lagoons and I'm so glad we did. It was extremely cozy, everyone was so welcoming, and the food was excellent. Prices seemed very reasonable to me. Highly recommend stopping here if you're looking for a cozy, casual place that feels very local.

The Pub in the Paddock is a lot of fun. In the middle of nowhere. Great atmosphere and food. The beer drinking pigs are a must see. Stopped here on the way to St. Columbia Falls. Recommend a visit here. Fun place.

Driving through the valley, the scenery and greenery and animals was the best part of my Tassie adventure. Then arriving at the Pub in the Paddock just topped it off.
The pub was so homely, food delicious, bubbly staff and friendly locals.
Definitely worth a detour for lunch, dinner or overnight

Friendly service and quirky historic building with a good atmosphere but can't help but think they are taking people for a ride based on pricing and the quality of the food we received.

A pint and schooner of a local hazy pale ale came to $29!

Of the food we ate off the menu the seafood chowder was tasty but so salty we couldn't finish our servings. I may be wrong but suspect the mussels and oysters used in the chowder were of the tinned variety and not local seafood (not that they claim it to be local seafood).

The 3 Peking duck spring rolls with very little filling, mostly just a deep fried won ton felt very over priced and light on for what they were.

Pretty underwhelming all considered.

We had lunch there yesterday to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The food was exceptional and the service was great. Lovely warm atmosphere on a rainy day. It was so good we went back again today on our way through. Again the food was exceptional. Forget about fancy restaurants this place is historically magnificent. Great views, great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks, we hope to get back one day!

Called in for lunch and a coldie. Was welcomed by the owner who was very friendly and had a table reserved for us from an earlier message sent to them. We both had Surf and Turf, one with veggies and one with chips and salad, both with fresh grown produce. The steak was locally sourced and probably the best one we have had in a long time. The young lass that is the cook also serves tables and is very warm and friendly. Keep up the great work guys.

What an awesome place. Off the beaten track but we'll worth it for the food views and overall atmosphere.
Great place to stay a night if you have a caravan or even a tent.
The food was reasonably priced and tastey. The views were great and although not dead silence it was quiet in general.

Loved the experience!! ..friendly atmosphere.☺.meals were good .it was raining and thundering whilst we were there .not everyday you get to eat a meal in the middle of a storm outside under the verandah!!! ☺We loved it !!!..also appreciated that patrons were considerate to others having their meals then moving on to allow others to enjoy the experience too ..

Stopped by to see The Pig in the Paddock and a quick afternoon drink.
The location is a bit out of the way, but we'll worth a visit.
The people are wonderful and on for a chat, and the pigs love a good rub.
If you enjoy the peace and quiet of the bush and like to be out of the way you will enjoy a stay at the pub. You can park your caravan or pitch a tent if that's how your travelling.
We couldn't stay but hope to next time we are in Tassie.

A great place to stop after doing the falls (which are about 15 minutes from the pub). An absolute gem of a place that serves great food in a warm, inviting atmosphere with views of beautiful green fields.

We arrived there around 1pm for lunch.
The staff were super friendly, the beer cold and the meals great.
We had a yack to the new owner

Nice menu with lovely people running the pub. Fun having a pub in the middle of a paddock. Very scenic area. You can eat outside if you want to enjoy the scenery or eat inside and enjoy the interesting decor.

Stopped for lunch. Delicious garlic scallops and panko crumb chicken breast with coleslaw and chips. Craft beer ?. Fantastic place to stop. Highly recommend. Very relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and clean. Great service. Open fireplaces burning add to the warmth of the inside. Wonderful. Hats off to the owners.

Great fun pub with fast, decent food. Famous for Pricilla the pig who likes to drink beer!!! Very picturesque drive in surrounded by green dairy farms and rolling hills. Excellent motorbike ride through the winding mountain roads.

Seems we had a similar experience to others... Unfortunately the rude and unfriendly woman taking our order ruined the place. Acted like we were personally putting her out. Also said we had to pay for water even though licensed venues are meant to give free drinking water. Couldn't make a lemon, lime and bitters (was all syrup). Don't waste your time and just go to the cafe down the road. Also the poor pig onsite has overgrown nails.

From the moment we arrived at pub the waitress was very rude, threw cutlery on counter no please or thank you. We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains. My main a seafood chowder arrived first. Then starter's which should have had plum sauce but came with BBQ Sauce. Then mains which left a lot to be desired. All in all a very unpleasant afternoon. Would not recommend especially if you get be same waitress.

We came in on a Sunday evening hoping for dinner, that sadly wasn't available, so we settled for a drink to go eat dinner later at our camp. The owners were super inviting and friendly, having a nice open conversation about the pub etc. They were that nice we came in the next day for lunch and were not disappointed. The steak sandwich was 10/10, and the schnitzel was pretty good too! Only strange thing is the lady behind the bar who has a copy and paste conversation with everyone that walks in.... Without doubt, you will be asked "where ya from?", "First time here?". On our particular visit "No flathead, It's Whiting" was also a heavy feature. Very entertaining to watch from a distance.
