Quality Hotel Mildura Grand, Mildura VIC

Recently spent 5 nights here and couldn't fault it at all. Great location, super clean rooms, comfy bed, good shower. Would absolutely stay here again.

Very disappointing. When we phoned to book there was no mention that the room was upstairs so we had to lug suitcases up stairs - not easy when you're in your 70's. Car parking is across the road in a public carpark. When we found we had to lug suitcases up stairs - which would be very slippery in winter - I mentioned this wasn't ideal and the receptionist just shrugged her shoulders.

When booking I asked what the difference was between a Queen Bed room and a Suite and was told the Suite had a view of the river. It didn't, it overlooked the train station and yards with only a tiny glimpse of the river if you looked hard enough.

No microwave in room, no biscuits. Very basic room for a lot of money. In fact, the only good thing I could say about it is the location. The front entrance area is very grand but our room certainly wasn't. Definitely won't be staying here again.

Like an idiot, I left my keys in the room and didn't realise till I was about 400km away. The staff called three times asap but my phone was on silent. When I realised my stuff up, I was cranky when I called back but shortly realised I was wrong thinking that they hadn't tried to contact me. Staff were still happy to mail my keys to me even after my less than friendly tone. (No swearing or abuse I promise, just tone) keys arrived today and I rang to thank and apologise for my tone. They were still friendly. So my review goes less to the actual venue and all to the helpful staff. My bad, lesson learned. Thank you staff!

Old pub style rooms in a large old (nice) building a stones throw from the Murray. Fixtures are aging, some switches and fittings don't work. Comfortable and about standard for a 3 star Aussie hotel room of this price, defo don't see 4 stars here. No drinking water provided in rooms, but the tap water is meant to be ok. Carpets in the halls look like they have been ripped up for cleaning and re-placed without care regarding the old style patterns which is a little nauseating but a minor quip. Parking is not secure - on street or in an open park across the road. The surrounding area is teeming with nightlife with lots of little pubs and cafes full to bursting later at night - great location if that is your cuppa tea.

We paid $220 for one night for a hot, wood rotted, water damaged shoe box. The room was tiny, the fridge was kept inside a cupboard that was HOT and causing the fridge to work overtime and couldn't cool anything!

There was bubbled paint from water leaks everywhere, badly watered rotted timber around the window frame that you could see daylight out of, skirting boards falling off walls, the spa had large sticky tape residue throughout and just looked dirty. The aircon barely kept the very tiny room cool and we were hot and uncomfortable the whole time. There were 5-6 available tv stations, all either sbs, abc or radio stations.

I wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal by any means, the buildings very old and full of history and that I can respect, however the quality of the rooms was nothing we could have mentally prepared for. The lack of upkeep was astonishing, and overall very disappointing.

We paid for late check out, however left at 9am, because of how uncomfortable the room was to be in.

Unfortunately I don't think we'd stay again, or recommend to family and friends because as much as I was looking forward to staying here, I was deeply disappointed.
