The Rabbit Trap Hotel, as you might have guessed (but probably didn't!), has a massive rabbit trap on its roof. Although the hotel was established in the 1930's, the rabbit trap didn't arrive until 2013.1
It was placed there to attract attention to the town in order to boost interest in the struggling outback town. The name was inspired by Aussie Joliffe's cartoon, Saltbush Bill. 2

My partner and I did a little ride from Dubbo for lunch. Great little pub, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was great. Definitely recommend a visit.

Little bit of a boring ride out there but good pub to tick off the bucket list. We carried on all night without any problems. The dongas out back were nice and cold in summer. Cool pub.

We camped for free at this pub, no power or water however you can pay if you want. There are toilets and a decent shower in the park. The pub itself has great food, good service and is a quirky place to visit. Be mindful no phone service around. They do have little dongas for rent also.

Two night's dinner and stay on a busy weekend.
The donga accommodation was value for money and comfy with plenty of hot water. Great staff keeping a big crowd happy.
The only downside to a packed venue was running the cigarette gauntlet at every entrance every time.

Looking for a country pub to relax and enjoy a meal or just a drink ,well then this pub's got you covered, it's a great little pub with a real out back country Aussie feel about it, it's in the township of Albert and has bushland all around it, and if your lucky enough on the trip out there you may see wildlife like emus, kangaroos, pigs and goats
