I had the beef schnitzel here last night it came out curled up and black. It was so tuff that it was inedible. It looked as if it was deep fried. Salads, were bought out left over from lunch. Left feeling hungry and ripped off.

The room was basic but comfortable.
Having the pub dining room less than 50m away was great.

We had two meals, pork belly which was not pork belly and the gar fish which was paper thin with no taste. The only reason I am not giving a one star is the Bar staff were fantastic!!!

The food was good.
Very cold day and no decent seating for people with dogs. It was very warm inside and not outside.
We were sitting outside, and a couple sat down lit up and blew smoke all over my wife. Maybe some segregation of seating to cater to both smokers and non-smokers with dogs.

Great country pub in a great town. Nice and warm on a cold night. Very friendly and helpful staff and good wine list. Very good menu with realistic prices thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
Will return next visit.

Great place for dinner, some of the staff could smile a bit more and their service could use a bit of refinement. I know it's regional but "you want a bread roll" or "you guys finished " could be said a bit better. Bar staff are well mannered and have exceptional service. For the food would definitely go back.

Absolutely brilliant food to be enjoyed here. Huge serves, attentive service. The pub itself is one of those old school classic venues that are rapidly disappearing in too many parts of Australia. The chicken roll I ordered was huge, and so tasty. Well worth coming in for a meal and drink.

Very much an old fashioned country pub. We had a group of 22 people and submitted our orders in advance from a reduced menu supplied by the pub. Prices were very reasonable and the food was served within a short time frame. All meals were served hot and were delicious. Serves were big enough without being wasteful. We were able to close the dividing door so we had a private area. Would not hesitate to eat there again. Well done to all of the staff for making us welcome

Very friendly staff. Awesome food served hot within minutes of order. The satff (Adrian) was very helpful.

We were passing through Peterborough on our way to Port Augusta and stopped to have lunch at the Railway Hotel. First time we have been there. The serving sizes were very good and tasty. The prices were reasonable as well and the dining room was clean and comfortable.

Lamb shanks but cold in the middle. Good price meals. Huge beef schnitzel. Will provide doggy bag if asked.

Absolutely gorgeous old building, nicely decorated
Terribly understaffed meaning it took time to find someone to take our lunch orders and etc.
Hubby had chicken schnitzel looked great, nice portion, and tasted great, however our fish and chips and pasta dishes left a lot to desire.
They weren't even kiddy sized meals, very disappointing for the top dollar we paid.
Beer was cold always a good thing and my lemonade, lime and bitters was icy cold and fantastic

We stayed in the Motel at the rear of the Hotel, room was very clean and large, no Wi-Fi, plenty of hot water for the showers. Nice lot of bench space to put our bags on. Normal parking out side the room. We were unlucky that there were no meals available at the Hotel on the night we stayed, "chef day off". So we wandered down the main street to eat.

Delighted to see calamari schnitzel on the menu which we both ordered. Thanq chef for just crumbing mine ( due to allergy restrictions ) Much appreciated and it was very tender, too.
Most places in Peterborough serving wine seem to all favour Yellow Tail - which was a shame as not our preferred drop but not much choice other than this.
Warm rolls a bonus & served by a nice young man.

Went home hungry!
Meal came out cold ask to reheat it and it still came back cold!
Sent it back again and they said they aren't cooking anymore! So left totally hungry !
Other table ordered before us and a large table after them , they got served last

Great Hotel, and the accommodation in their motel section was great, clean, and the best shower ever! Lucy and the hosts were great, and the food really good value for money, especially the Sticky Date Pudding. Can thoroughly recommend this Hotel/Motel. If you're going to stop at Peterborough, then this is the place.

Great service and food. Good pub for a lunch stop.

Friendly helpful staff. The room was basic, and clean. Shared shower room was also very clean, and the shower had good pressure. Good feed in the restaurant. The pub is a good place to stay after a long drive at a budget price.

Have eaten here a few times and twice in a week recently. On both occasions the food was great and the service quick and very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
