Love this pub. Go there 1-2 times a week with clients and mates. Classic style, beautiful cosy pub. A few different spaces with dinning room or two, tab area back bar. Awesome outdoor settings as well. Honestly one of the best pubs menus in Australia. Home of the Sydney/ South Melbourne Swans- so make sure you get there for a Swans game! Just had a fresh lick of paint as well.

Really great spot. Service was amazing and food really great too. Had an eye fillet steak and was cooked perfectly. Cold beer and cold beer glasses too. Had a function for 16 and they handled with now problems.

Recently discovered The Rising Sun and we love going there. Such a great atmosphere and a top menu. All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
We also enjoyed our first day upstairs listening to the fabulous band playing music we related to, it was a lot of fun.

Great local gem hidden away in South Melbourne with a real village feel. Steaks are incredible (try the pepper sauce) and now under management of renowned publican of Railway Club fame. Old school pub with old school pricing and generous servings. Highly recommend!

Came here with the family after our drive from Sydney to Melbourne. We did a last minute booking at the pub for dinner and their food was delicious for pub food. Friendly staff and great service. Highly recommend

Our local doing good food for a price. My lamb cutlets came out with three cutlets and a good serve of chips and peas. Angel hair pasta with Morton Bay bugs a good choice too. Can't go wrong.

The place is such a hidden gem that I'm so glad to have discovered. Quite a busy spot no matter what day of the week you decide to go but once you experience it, you'll understand why. Such a diverse menu (which I'm currently making my way through since moving to the area) but below is a picture of the roast I got on Wednesday!(yes Sunday roast midweek 11/10!!) The portion was so big, I couldn't finish it but as the dessert passed our table, we had to order them and we were delighted that we had found room for them! ?The most friendliest and efficient of staff , which is usually the downside to dining out these days that go above and beyond to Make sure you're happy. Even when they are very busy and have given you the bill, they go out of their way to take your card to the bar to tap to save you getting up from the table (which is highly appreciated when you've overindulged)?. Try it and watch it quickly become your local ?

Great local pub. A number of TVs showing all kinds of sports, plenty of room for families, good outdoor space and enough quieter corners for those not interested is busy dinners and sports. Good quality meals and very generous portions. Friendly and welcoming staff.

A good range of beers and wines so something for everyone and the food is great "pub grub". There is always a good range of meals available so so always some thing new to try or the perennial favourites there is always a choice to be had. The sticky date pudding is fantastic too.

Lovely venue to watch my beloved Swannies when I get back to my home of Sth Melbourne. Good food, great drinks wonderful atmosphere perfect for Bloods supporters who can't get to the match when they play interstate... HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RISER ??????

A great local pub to have a drink with friends or a nice meal from their extensive menu. A versatile list of specials is always up for consideration. The staff are friendly ,efficient and nothing is too much trouble. There is a bonus marquee area on the south side of the hotel which is terrific area to enjoy the fresh air and perfect on a warm Melbourne evening??
