Had a fantastic meal here - all 7 of us very impressed with the food, great staff, and lovely atmosphere. Best steak I've had in a while. Will definitely be back next time we are in Tasmania!

Fourth time dining at the River Arms. We choose to dine on Valentine's Day. Friendly staff. Very nice environment. Delicious food. This time there was an incident. But it made me realize how much River Arms cares about its customers. This time I ordered the eye filet steak. Actually, I ordered it medium rare. But when I cut the steak I felt like it was almost done. I respond to the service personnel. They took care of it for me immediately. They made me a fresh steak. And sorry about the doneness of the steak. Give me a free drink! Even my steak ended up being free of charge. I feel customer oriented service! Thank you very much for your service! I'm sure I'll be back for dinner soon!

My wife ordered the lamb and Greek salad. The Greek salad wasn't available and the fillet came out rear ? and tough to eat
Service was good and beers cold

Dined for lunch with a friend. Served quickly. I ordered Thai Beef salad. Not much beef but lots of noodles which were very crunchy and difficult to eat. Good sized serving. Took some home. This was the small size. My friend had the schnitzel. She really liked the mushroom gravy.

Was disappointed there were no views available.

The atmosphere was great everybody was so nice and cheerful despite every table being full and being so busy still had all the time in the world for customers, if I could rate them higher I would the food was delicious and the service was extraordinary, even sang my wife happy birthday and gave her a free main meal which gave me more beer money. Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone after great service, cold beer and great food

I ordered the most ordinary chicken Caesar salad that I have had in a long time.
The lettuce, the boiled egg and the chicken were all chopped up tiny as though it was a child's meal. The bacon was not nice fresh pieces of bacon but dried up shards that are bought in bulk.
For a $28 dish it was very disappointing. Come on guys - put your boiled egg on top or at least in decent size pieces that you can taste, do your own bacon, and don't have everything chopped so tiny.

Great food and great service. A reliable meal in town and a good choice for a night out.

Fresh and soft ~ ??'?The environment here is very warm! When I asked the waiter to change my seat. ?They served me very well. ??The friendliness is impressive!? I have recommended several friends must come to patronize!

Always a favourite venue when we visit TAS, Restaurant has a great atmosphere, staff are friendly and menu has a few different options to the normal pub food. Crumbed scallops lovely although quite small. Thank you

Usually very satisfied with the meals, but this time my husbands meal was mediocre to say the least.His fish and chips meal was not up to your usual standard, chips pale, and the piece of flake was was very small. Staff very friendly as always. We were told an apprentice did the chips. For a over $70.00 meal for two , disappointing!

Quality of these meals was impressive. Had a table of 12 and all meals (kids included) were spot on. Service was above average and prices were fair considering the quality of the meals. Will definitely be back again!

Firstly RA meals are usually pretty good but this was poor bang for buck! Tried ringing to place legit 18x and couldn't get through so not sure what was going on there, drove down & order and had to wait 15min-20mins watching defeated looking people comin out of the pokies back door ..anyways got a takeaway "RA Classic Fish and Chips" @$32 .. the meal was missing tartar and lemon but was tasty still, two small bits of flake and curley chunky chips was poor value at that price in my opinion??'?

Great venue for dinner with the significant other, especially if you have different tastes in food and don't drink alcohol ? they stock de-alcoholised beverages which are actually good.
The staff were also very patient while we made up our minds.

Right from the start, it was obvious that we were at the right place.
We had booked earlier so, when we arrived we were seated immediately and asked if we would like a drink.
The staff were friendly, seemed happy to help and enjoyed a bit of fun.
The meals were delivered quickly and were spot on. Servings were large enough that no one wanted dessert.
We sat and talked, turning out to be the last customers out but, never felt pressured to leave.
It was the best all round experience in some time.

This used to be one of our family favourites as they had beautiful vegetarian dishes. Now they only have one beautiful dish and a few disgusting dishes. I made a complaint about the cauliflower popcorn bites with honey and soy... The flavours do not pair well as they use so much honey that it is sickening. Went back over a month later and still on the menu. Very disappointing.

Had a great meal, friendly staff and fantastic service. Had a supreme pizza, others in the group had chicken schnitzel, burgers, chicken Caesar salad and lamb shanks. All enjoyed, will be back next time we have work here.

The large Thai salad came in a MASSIVE bowl, next time I'll definitely be ordering a small - which I'm going to assume would still be a big serve based on the large size!

Very family-friendly venue, great kids menu. The kids serving sizes are also gigantic. Two kids under 12 could easily share one meal and be full. The chips (real house-cut potato wedges) that come with the kids meals are without a doubt the best wedges I've ever tasted. Will be returning next week for another Friday dinner.

Will give 5 stars when all new staff are fully trained. Some staff, although very friendly, were a little inattentive and at times we felt that our table was overlooked by some wait staff.

Lovely service and decor. Fireplace was amazing and service was quick. Drinks made how we liked. Meals were lovely but not sure about the noodles on the Thai beef salad. Bit too over kill. Just a few would of been better. Cauliflower steak was divine and the veg was cooked so well. Desert's were amazing. Loved the white choc cheese cake . The eton mess was lovely and sweet but wouldn't rave over this one. Over all its a great place and real family restaurant with awesome service and lovely meals. Be sure to try it out

We've been here to eat twice and the food was excellent both times.
Plenty of food on the plate and very tasty and enjoyable.
I was looking forward to dessert, but on both occassions the main meal was so delicious that I had to eat all of it, which left no room for dessert!
I thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

Fabulous meal, atmosphere and friendly staff.
My steak was cooked 'blue' to perfection, it wasn't only good it was excellent. The seasonal vegetables were great with a lovely crunch and not overcooked. The fries looked to be house made as they were crunchy but super soft in the middle, just fabulous.
My partner's pressed lamb meal was equally fabulous.
We are regulars and will continue to return.
