Royal Hotel Mendooran - Pub in Mendooran New South Wales

Was looking forward to a pub meal and a few drinks. We were camping by the river.
My partner went in to ask if we could sit outside with our dogs in the beer garden as no one was out there. He was told the dogs would have to go in a dog run out the back, which had 2 barking dogs on the other side of the wire fence. Not nice. He was made to feel very uncomfortable. Not a friendly atmosphere at all. It's such a shame as we like to contribute to the local economy when travelling.
Down the road at the cafe was a completely different attitude. Happy to spend our dollars there.

Great spot to stop between Adelaide and Brisbane. Staff were friendly, meals were generous and well priced, and the accomodation was easy with clean amenities. Free to set up to camp just next to it too.
This hotel has been, and will continue to be, a regular stop on the way through. Thanks guys!

Friendly crowd in the public bar, had some great conversations with my new friends. The lamb chops were great and the free continental breakfast was a fantastic surprise.

Free camping down on the river. So nice to go to a pub that serves good Tooheys Old on tap. Could of easily settled in for the afternoon on the punt and give the Old a nudge.

Popped in this evening (Sunday) for dinner. Delicious chicken parmi at a great price. Plus they stock the local whisky from Black Gate just down the road. Live music on a Sunday evening was an added bonus. If you're passing through Mendooran, make sure you stop in for a meal.
