The hotel is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Central Station via Eddy Avenue, making it close to everything you need and the CBD. Overall, my stay was fine- no major complaints, but I wouldn't call it exceptional. One concern I noticed was the open access to the hotel entrance. Random people from outside would come in and sit on the couches near the reception area. I also observed some people entering to use the toilets located one level up, near the seminar room (Oxford/Taylor or something similar). This raises a safety concern, and I hope the hotel management will address this issue to ensure a more secure environment for guests.

Currently staying in this hotel and well 4 stars most definitely not. Disgusting is the appropriate word to use here. Rooms are filthy dirty, have not been vacuumed, hair, dirt and debris in every corner, table surfaces minibar (if you would call it that) filthy. Bathroom disgusting, old and tired, tiles filthy, door rotten, no ventilation and smells sooooo bad.
3 power points do not even work near bed and the beds well split king as per request, beds move, pillows terrible, they smell and only one bed had a duvet the other simple hotel sheeting.
Balcony is filthy dirty, glass door contains fingerprints of who know how many previous guests.
Tv remote is covered in pure filth and looks like it's never been cleaned or sanitised.
Seriously PICK UP YOUR GAME. Prices charged most definitely do nit match the standard of this hotel. I've stayed in cleaner hostels when backpacking. Rydges what a DISGRACE !!!!!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Rooms were a good size compared to other hotels we've stayed at.

We got a pretty decent rate for 2 rooms, especially to be staying during the Christmas holiday period, but our joy was short-lived by a whopping $55 per night car park fee!
Other hotels we've stayed at only charge $25-$30 for guests parking, not a huge $55, that's a rate you'd normally charge someone who isn't a guest and wants to park overnight.

We stayed 2 nights on our second day, we left our room at 8am and placed the 'service room' sign on our doors. We arrived back at 230pm only to find our rooms hadn't been serviced.
We called down to complain and said not to worry about it anymore as we wanted to sleep and didn't want to be disturbed but sure enough someone came knocking at our door to service the room around 430pm only to be told to go away.
We went out for dinner at 6pm and they serviced our room while we were away, even though we said not to worry about it anymore, I guess they wanted to please us however, they only left one clean fresh towel in our room, even though there were two of us.

Due to the excessive parking fee and poor housekeeping, we'd probably look elsewhere to stay in future.

Rydges' response about high parking fee of $55 per day was "it is the market rate for that location." Yeah, sure, if you're comparing to car parks that are solely just for parking. You should be offering a reduced rate for guests and charging the high rate for people who aren't guests.

We arrived very early due to our flight into Sydney. Naomi was so lovely. Took our luggage. We asked for recommendations for a good coffee Cafe. She definitely hit the spot!
We were lucky to have Naomi assist us again for our check in. She was so lovely and assisted us with the local eateries.
The room was fantastic. Not to mention the Brewery. Amazing staff!
Will we return? A definite yes for service, location and price.
FYI we had an executive room.

As others have mentioned, the customer service here was disappointing. I am leaving this review in the hope that improvements will be made.

I stayed for two nights, but after the room cleaning, the floor mat and towels were not replenished. The plastic bags in the trash bins were also carelessly placed. On the second day, the body soap ran out, so I requested a new one. However, what was delivered to my room was a diluted, water-like version of body soap. Why would this happen?
I would expect at least the minimum level of service.
That said, the room was spacious and clean. Thank you.
