Location is excellent for the overseas cruise ship terminal & the staff were friendly & helpful, but the rooms are incredibly basic

No kettle in the rooms so no way to make a cuppa for yourself & if the restaurant is closed you're ahit out of luck. Even the super budget hotels I've stayed in provided basic tea & coffee making facilities in the room.

Booked for three people sharing two double beds, which is what we got, so that was fine, but they still only provide enough shower gel, etc for one to two people.

The pillow choice was pretty cool, with soft & firm available, however I couldn't tell the difference between the two so not sure if they made a mistake & put the same pillows in all the cases or if my pillow softness detector is broken.

The staff were working really hard & seemed to have a pretty stressful shift but kept smiles on their lovely faces. They all probably deserve a pay increase.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a hotel. It's outdated, on the small size, had a weird layout and the fire sprinkler was in the shower with you. During our stay we unfortunately had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night. At no point, did any of the staff help direct any of the many guests trying to find their way out of the building? The fire exits were not clearly marked. At no point did any of member of staff go outside with all the rest of the guests to tell us that we could re-enter the building? It wasn't until we watched the fire department drive away. Did we take the courage to walk in ourselves. We were then informed that they made a single announcement that clearly no one had heard because none of the guests in the lobby were going back to their room at no point where there was an apology or an explanation.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is its prime location in Sydney. You're right down on the waterfront in the middle of all the activities you're going to want to do. Be it tours in the daytime or clubbing in the night time.

We loved the hotel. The harbour location is great, close to Opera House, the Bridge, cruise ship port, and airport...as well as a number of restaurants and shops. The service was great. They were kind enough to hold our luggage until check-in time, allowing us to walk about and enjoy the market. The breakfast buffet was very good, although a little pricey. I highly recommend. I would definitely stay there again.

Really should be a 3.5 star if they had an option. The hot tub and roof pool were STUNNING. Best part of the whole place. Hot tub wasn't very warm though, and every day we were there, there is a different cruise ship parked at the dock between the hotel and the opera house so you don't really get the view you want unless it's night time and the ships are gone. Not really the hotels fault, but unfortunately it's the reality of the situation. Location is good. Really expensive for what you get though. Rooms were big, but very dated. Expensive vale parking. Overall, I'm not mad about our time there, but wouldn't probably go back, even if it was $100 a night cheaper

Very handy location for The Overseas passenger terminal.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean but older. Bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast buffet was very good.
Handy location to shopping and restaurants in The Rocks.
Train station and ferries a short walk away. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel itself is nice and well maintained. Good location close to Circular Quay. Some of the staff didn't know much about the hotel. The breakfast that was included with our stay was quite good for a buffet. Please take note, there is a $50 assurance fee on the room, which was only revealed when we arrived, kind of threw us off a little, but was quickly refunded after our stay. For a 4 star hotel, it really didn't give me that wow factor that I was hoping for.

Positives:
The place is nice, rooms are cosy. The staff were fantastic. The buffet breakfast was also really good, not too salty or overcooked. Nice and close to everything in the city.

Negatives:

Finding it was a bit difficult, you need to go into Mill lane to check in if you're parking there. The club across the road was so loud until 2am with fighting, yelling and screaming, having police attend. Hopefully this is not a regular occurrence. Needs better late night security.

I am reviewing this for a 4star hotel and giving it 5 stars for what it is. Perfect location with a rooftop view of both the harbour bridge and the opera house. Walking distance to circular quay and the amenities here. Plenty of cafes and restaurant just outside the hotel. The rooms are dated but it is an older hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Valet parking was affordable. This is the perfect budget friendly option for this location for a 4star hotel. As a tourist this was only for sleeping purposes, therefore the location and the rooftop views were the added bonus that turned out amazing.

We stayed here for 5 nights during our Australia trip. It is a huge, heritage hotel located in an amazing location( The rocks area). It is very close to Circular Quay, the heart of Sydney. Rooms are clean, tidy with comfortable beds. Our room had a great view of harbour bridge from the window. The rooftop of the hotel has an amazing swimming pool and a heated Jacuzzi. The rooftop has got the most amazing view of the Opera House, Sydney Harbour and the harbour bridge

Good location that's about it. Was invited to upgrade to breakfast buffet for $28.00/night which I did. First two mornings upon arrival - no bacon, no eggs. Almost every person in the restaurant was standing around with empty plates waiting for these staple breakfast items. When they were eventually brought out, they were gone within seconds. I didn't even bother going on the third morning, my partner and I just opted to eat elsewhere.

I wasn't even going to raise the issue but was prompted for my feedback at check-out. I explained the buffet situation and that it resulted in me not even bothering with the breakfast on my last day. I am not one to normally ask for a refund but I explained it would be in good faith to reimburse at least the third breakfast I didn't even attend, let alone the other two mornings which were absolutely worthless. The receptionist told me there was absolutely no way I could be refunded even for one day. Really, no way? That's fine, but my review reflects this experience and I won't be staying here again.
