Stayed here for a friends wedding and had a wonderful experience. From check in to the breakfast buffet (great cup of coffee) everything was superb! Staff were so lovely and professional. It's not our first time here and won't be our last. Would definitely recommend!! Don't forget to check out the Cidery Bar, great selection of draft beers!

Latest reviews for Rydges World Square Hotel, Sydney NSW

We stayed for 4 nights and it was a nice stay, the service was great, they were very helpful in providing a cot for our baby that was nice and clean and at no extra charge. As parents travelling with kids, not having to worry about our room helped a lot, we managed to have a nice little set up for our stay.
You had the option of opting in or out of housekeeping any day if you wanted. The room had a double bed and had a separate shower and bath. It had plenty of power outlets as well. It was just the right size for a family with kids.
If travelling there by car, parking was fairly straightforward just ask the staff if you have any questions.
It was a nice location, close to trams which we used everyday and there was a shop close by if you needed anything. Overall no complaints from my family. Thank you :)
Good basic 3 star hotel that is clean and in a good location. Noisy in room as we can hear street noises, voices, water flow. Beds and pillows are uncomfortably soft.
Breakfast is basic but good. Concierge is great.
Unfortunately, not all hotels in this location are good (see my other review), but I felt very comfortable here. My room had a modern bathroom, decent amount of space, well maintained, very good cleaning every day, and overall just a positive environment with people, bar and cafe. No wonder the airlines book their stewards/stewardesses in here. I can only recommend the hotel and if you forget something, like I did, you get it back, even if the hotel reception has to wait three weeks for you to get back to the hotel. Thank you very much!

The staff was truly amazing and accommodating during our stay. Their warmth and assistance added immensely to our positive experience. Commendations to the team for their outstanding service!
Our stay in the deluxe room with two double beds was delightful. The spacious layout added to the overall enjoyment for me and my kids. Highly recommended!

Great location with easy access to shopping and transport right outside. The customer service was decent, check in was fast and staff were nice.

Only complaint is the room itself. The room was pretty disgusting with hair strands on fresh towels that weren't used yet as well as the bedsheets. The pillows had hair that weren't our length or colour. After finding those strands, decided to inspect the bedsheets and found more hair.
The coffee drawers where the mugs and spoons were was dusty and had specs of dirt/coffee powder in their compartments. The kettle seemed as if it was not used in months and had layers of dust on top.

This is a hostel parading as a hotel. Room was dusty, the bathroom floor was dirty and hallways looked like they had not been vacuumed in a long while.(I counted 8 sneezes from the room to the elevator). I booked this hotel as it stated online "sleeps 3" . I proceeded to pay the $691.60 upfront got the two nights (this makes it a $345.80 room per night which was partially acceptable given the marathon was on ). I then called to advise them that we would be checking in at 7 pm (not 2 pm) and asked to confirm that a roll away would be in the room on arrival. Reservations confirmed yes and advised thy would charge the card on file $100.00 PER NIGHT FOR THE ROLL A AWAY. This makes this stay at $445.80 per night a rip off. This hotel is far from a $445.80 hotel per night and on top this the:

1. Staff were unfriendly. (I did not count one happy looking front desk staff member on check in)
2. Supervisor I spoke to re roll a way and price uninterested.
3. On the Saturday morning as I walked passed a coffee stand in the foyer I believed it was a stand for hotel guests only to be almost tackled to the ground by a staff member advising it was for "conference guests" only. (Coffee in hotel foyer is common in many places around the world especially USA and is a nice touch...usually)

I am in Sydney almost weekly for work and will never ever stay at Rydges World Square ever again. The hotel needs to grow up and be a real hotel at the rate they charged me.

Great hotel! only criticisms I had were that the shower door's inability to shut properly caused water to constantly flood everywhere! Also, the fridge was way too cold which actually freezed the water in the plastic water bottles we stored in there. As well as how stuffy the room would get. I would recommend staying here though and would definitely look into staying again because the location is great, staff are very friendly and the rooms were great :) I also loved how fast the elevators went up/down!

Great location! Easy walking distance to most tourist spots and excellent transport links. The room was clean and bed was very comfy. Shower door didn't close properly so bathroom would flood with a shower. Housekeeping vacuumed the halls and next door room at 6.30am! But otherwise a lovely stay.

Excellent location in Sydney CBD. Room is big and well appointed. Wifi is fast. Staff is nice and courteous. Plenty of food options within walking distance. What else one could want? I would definitely stay here again.

I felt the rooms were clean and spacious. More than ample electrical outlets for everything you need to plug in. I came from the US prepared for the higher voltages however, I didn't realize the adapters were different however the staff did have an adapter available. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. From what I could tell Rydges hotel is very centrally located and even if I stayed at the hotel swing sites within walking distance I would run out of time before sites.
I stayed for 4 nights on a trip. I chose this hotel because it is convenient for sightseeing. When I went sightseeing and returned to the hotel, the cleaning was not always thorough. The snacks on the counter were always dusty and the refrigerator was always a little open. The bed cover has not been replaced even if it gets dirty. The staff in the lobby was very kind and gave a good impression. Thank you.

Close to shops and transport. Room was clean and presentable. Staff were friendly
And very helpful/ professional. Only downside would be the layout of the building. Small corridors that make it feel as if they crammed rooms in everywhere and anywhere our tiny balcony was big enough to put one chair on it. The view was "city" which included looking at the other buildings that were next to us on the 17th floor. Prices are quite high for the size room we got.
Had an amazing stay! The hotel is right in the heart of Sydney CBD, making it super convenient to visit all the popular attractions just by walking. The room was great, and they had everything I needed. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. The breakfast buffet included in my room booking was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this hotel for its central location and proximity to all the must-see spots in Sydney!

It is a very big hotel, but the service is very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located. You can walk to different metro lines in a few minutes. And if you need something quickly, there are several shops and supermarkets nearby. I will come back again, definitely

Location of the hotel is great. Unfortunately they don't offer any complimentary bottled water, no body shower within amenities.
We requested an early check in which we didn't get, the rooms was unready until 2:15 and 2 receptionists were not very helpful, the third thankfully took an action and moved procedures to check us in as the extra bed was not ready. The bed and pillows are horrible, you could see the bed base is touching the floor for its middle (check the photo) which has caused us back and neck pain.. the breakfast open buffet is okay, not much varieties however basics of eggs, bacon, some pastries and cereals are there and only instant coffee. To drink a proper cup of coffee you got to pay for it.

Although accommodation in Sydney is expensive Rydges World Square provided neat, clean and very comfortable accommodation. The king bed for my wife and I was fantastic, although sometimes I did think I'd 'lost' her during the night. Buffet breakfast was great and the food at the bar and restaurant delicious. Each morning we were cheerfully greeted by their friendly and accommodating staff. If the price was a little lower I would have given the venue 5 stars. A little expensive but that's what Sydney is!

Will definitely be back. One of the most centralest (yes, it's a word now that I've used it) hotels. World Square has groceries plus lots of dining options right at your finger tips. Tram half a block one way and trains two blocks the other, is all the transport you will need in Sydney. A nice spacious room with and equally spacious bathroom. Thank you Rydges for the great stay.

Stayed here for a work conference and couldn't be happier. The staff were so friendly and the rooms a great size and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options.
The facilities for the conference were fantastic and the whole overall experience was effortless from a customer's point of view.
We had a wonderful 2 nights stay at Rydges, excellent location close proximity to many restaurants/cafes and station! The only negative was that our room had a dodgy shower door, so the whole bathroom got quite wet after use. Other than that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this great hotel.

I stayed for 3 nights with my husband and 4yo from 4/1-7/1.

PROS: We originally booked a deluxe king room but we were upgraded to the executive king.
Bed was comfortable and we were able to get extra pillows and towels on request.
Location - central to a lot of sites, 10 minute walk to Chinatown and Town Hall/light rail. On top of World Square shopping complex which includes Coles and plenty of restaurants and retail. About a 5 minute walk from Museum train station which was comfortable even with 2 suitcases and a pram
Staff were friendly and room service was quick

CONS: There is no swing bar lock on the door and there are no locks on the top hung windows. This is a big safety issue, especially when travelling with a curious 4yo
The confirmation email noted a cheaper price than what we ended up paying. When I questioned this at check out the staff member noted it was because the children's breakfast was left off of the email
The bathroom had water damage with some very visible bubbling to the door and patched over paint and there is no fan
The toilet flush would get stuck so water would continually run until you tapped the buttons again.
The latch on the bathroom door wasn't functioning so we couldn't keep the door closed unless we locked it
There was cracking and gaps between the ceiling and crown moulding above the bar and bed

Although it is such a convenient location, the current state that the hotel is in and the price that you're paying per night is not worth it. You're better off paying more for an actually 4 or 5 star experience or paying less for the same. If we're ever back in Sydney we would definitely stay in the area but won't be staying here.
We stayed for my daughter's birthday and it was a nice surprise for her to receive wine and chocolates from the hotel. It was a bit pricey for the room though. The foyer was very noisy at one point, as there was a conference but overall, it was quiet, very central to eateries, transport and shopping.

The shampoos/conditioners bottles supplied were hard to squeeze and could only get out half of the thick content, the rest was wasted. I strongly recommend that these are perhaps replaced with tubes. We were also charged for items from the mini bar which we did not use but later refunded. Overall a pleasant stay.

Booked a family room. Very good experience overall. Staff was great. Comfy bed. If you ask for negatives then 1- lack of good views outside the windows 2- bathrooms probably need some refurbishment. Despite of these I would give it a 5-star

Stayed on a very busy weekend with a major sporting event in town, but despite the hotel being full our experience was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and the hotel is in a brilliant location. Highly recommend

I've stayed at many hotels in Sydney CBD and Rydges World Square hands down is best in terms of location. Everything is either walking distance or a tram ride away.

The room was also great! It was clean and spacious and it was easy to grab the lift at any time of the day. Checking in and out was also quick and professional.

Another thing to note, after a long day I requested extra pillows and a lovely gentleman came to the room and showed me all the different options and let me choose which ones I'd prefer. His amazing service definitely made our stay extra special! I wish I remembered his name!

Highly recommended, I will be back in the future.

best location and amazing service, everyone in this place are all helpful and accommodating specially the Filipino guy who welcomes us in the lobby and call us a taxi. Room are also clean and bed is very comfy. Thank you so much for the thoughtful surprise wine, card and for making our 17th Anniversary special. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended hotel.

Excellent location. Very modern. Great bathroom. Large TV. We stayed in a room with two queen beds, it had a window that partly opened. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast, kids under 12 eat free. Best of all was outstanding service by all the staff.

Location for this hotel is the best thing. Very centrally located which makes it accessible to everything including plenty of food and shopping options nearby. Stay was comfortable enough, room was pretty clean. The only suggestion I have is that I think it's time for a bit of an upgrade/facelift of the decor. Muted colours inside the rooms make it feel and look dated. Staff were helpful at every interaction. Lobby bar has good atmosphere even if just going in for a quick drink.

Service was lovely and accommodating of requests.
Took a while to be able to settle our daughter due to lack of pillows (requested extra for her disability to prop her safely)

Location was good easy walk to theatre, darling harbour,Chiba town,trams..... shopping and eateries all around including on-site.

buffet is back here !!!!! Great options and eggs as per order!

Overall an easy stay well located.

Great location, close to everything. There were many restaurants and shops around the area. A few minutes walk to Darling Harbour. Good sized room. We loved the king-size bed. The hotel is a little bit old, but clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The lobby was just too crowded and noisy because there was a wedding party when we checked-in.

The hotel is in a great location in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Sydney City.
The room I stayed in was a bit small but didn't expected anything better for the price I paid.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
Bed was far from being nice though, the quilt didn't have a cover. It was just placed between two bed sheets.
Breakfast could be better for the money.

Best shopping mall in Sydney. Love the fact that there is a step like bench to sit and relax and possibly a cup of ice coffee. Good place. Good food. Love the decoration and open area. Great options for restaurant and bars ideal for a quick hangout with friend and family. Great views from high floor apartments and great reception. Worth recommending to friends and family alike.!!
