What a great town. It is quiet but has important aspects such as coffee shops and a supermarket. The resort is central and has all that one would want. The restaurant has a great menu, and the pokies area has tasty coffee. The rooms are very comfortable.

Abysmal place to stay - like a dinghy rent by the hour motel not a timeshare resort - no heating - 1960s furniture - dishwasher doesn't work - no oven - asked for disability unit - had to go up outside uncovered stairs and use a shower over the bath. No laundry in units - only 2 washing machines for the block of dinghy units and only open 8-8pm. Advertised heated pool but the titantic would have been sunk earlier if using this. Avoid at all costs.

Went there to see Wendy matthews in concert. The setting was great, but not enough shade outside. The advertised start time was out by two hours, it seemed like they wanted to get people in early to buy more food and drink. Then there was not enough seating for the number of people they were letting in. To me it seem they needed as many people in as they could. If they are going to do that, increase the shade, increase the seating. At least one person collapsed due to the heat and at no time did I see a first-aid attendant. Duty of care guys. Money is money, but customer service should be at the top of your list
Over all we enjoy our stay, however. This "resort" has seen better days. The room. Was very dirty and dusty. The fan in the room was caked in dust. No air con in the room so it was very unpleasant, also the showers are very bad. The morning we checked out we had no got water
. We had a downstairs room and the noise coming from upstairs and through the walls was unacceptable. The pools were nice but the spa near one of the pools is in dire need of some repairs. I hope this place gets some upgrades in the future and a cleaner who knows how to dust.

First time staying here at Shearwater Resort in Tasmania through Timeshare. It's a very lovely peaceful resort with a golf course, two indoor swimming pools, a spa and sauna, laundry room, an on-site restaurant (Waves Bar and Grill), Bottle-o liquor store, games room, bike hire and more.

We stayed in number 11 overlooking the golf course. It features two bedrooms, two queen sized beds and twin bunk beds, a kitchenette, dining table and lounge with large flat screen TV, a bathroom with shower, bath and toilet plus a balcony with beautiful views and garden below.

It's a very spacious apartment, though I do have some feedback about some of the fittings. There's no ceiling fans in any of the rooms nor is there air conditioning, though the pedestal fan did make a difference as it can get quite hot and stuffy in the bedrooms.

The exhaust fan and shower/bath in the bathroom are both very outdated and need to be upgraded. The shower screen only has one panel of glass. The cupboards are also very old but still are in good working order.

The spa pool is also in need of maintenance as there's too much pressure coming through the jets along the wall and it splashes a lot.

The service from the reception staff and cleaners was very friendly and approachable. They have many different events and group activities during the week that you can attend and book in for.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience here.

I was there to play with the Blues Brothers Revival Band. Great venue and friendly staff. We were treated really well and had a great time.

A large group of us had a meal. The food was excellent - fresh, well cooked, generous serves. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere family friendly. Great experience.

Hi, loved the locals. The stuff, Charmaine and Rachael,, amazing!!?. Then there was a shift change.
Not sure whom the 2 young ladies where but very rude!!! Not nice , unpleasant. I give 1 star 4 Charmaine, 1 star 4 Rachael and 1 4 the locals.

Shearwater Resort is an ideal base to explore the north coast of Tasmania where there is lots to see and do. The staff are friendly and the accommodation and facilities are excellent.

Great area very nice by the sea but rooms where old food was terrible and they don't like complaints I wouldn't recommend this place gor functions etc wasn't a great atmosphere either due to that not my cup of tea

Just one more thing how much are your rooms for 1.person for 7 days. His reply was I don't have time to answer your question I have paying guests to tend to bang went the phone hung up. Nothing but a rude pig. Stick ya resort were sun don't shine.

Have been coming here for over 30 years. We have time share and it a shame we cannot see more of our annual maintenance fees being spent in the rooms.
The facilities and rooms are always clean and staff clean the BBQ areas daily
We always enjoy the golf course and it is an easy, flat walk.
Across the road are some nice cafes and shops are worth a look.

Rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Staff are very friendly. They have a restaurant on site.
Unfortunately the chef quit, while we were there and we were unable to dine there. ( one of the reasons for selecting the place) and we had to travel to Devonport to eat out.
No body's fault and I feel for the other staff as they had no work while the restaurant is closed.
We Wooli be back.

Good, comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting with our unit having beautiful views over the golf course and a very good size balcony. Waves bistro served up a lovely meal and their seafood crowded was delicious. There's also a Bottle-O on site as well as a very big indoor heated pool and gym.

A beautiful place with views of the ocean just beyond the golf course. Rooms were neat and clean and the actual apartment was very roomy. Offers you everything you need plus more (heated pool and jacuzzi and sauna)

Unfortunately we got placed in the restaurant in an area where there was a five year olds birthday party. This was a table of ten kids under 8. I would suggest that a Saturday night is not the best time to book such a party when you have adults paying $35 for their main and having to sit next kids who are sugared up and bored sitting at a table. We asked to move away from them but they said it wasn't possible as they were full. Their attention to service was poor as a table became available and after 20 mins of no action we went up and asked and then they allowed us to move away from the group. The laugh was that nearly immediately all the kids wanted an ice cream and you guessed it, the ice cream fridge was located next to our new table. We spent the next ten minutes with over excited children and a stressed mother trying unsuccessfully to control them whilst they waited for their ice cream. To top this night off two of our meals arrived whilst the other three went to another table. We were compensated for the missing meals but what a disaster! There were lots of ways with an attention to detail and appropriate service to avoid such nightmares.

The units are tired and need updating, there was mould in and around the shower. For a unit that could sleep 6 the comfortable seating was inadequate. However the service was prompt when we needed it and the view over the golf course was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we found the meals in the dining area very good.

Regular use of the swimming pool as a time share owner. Pools and change rooms are always clean. Reception staff very helpful.

I would like to thank the staff for their wonderful service but I would also like to say that the cooks in the kitchen at the restaurant need to put more care into the food they serve. I've eaten there three times with my partner, each of us have had different meals each time and have been thoroughly disappointed. Please take this review into consideration to better the food you give visitors as it is your weakest link.

We had a meal last night.
Great sized menu with variety and not the usual pub style meals..
Food was excellent. Good size portions. Tasty and excellent presentations. Some hadsmaller options (see pic for large and small fish and chips)Prices seemed fair. Staff were friendly and attentive. Chelsea was great.
There is indoor and outdoor seating, appears there is music played at various times.
Small kids play area, giant chess/checkers board to keep them entertained ?
All on the flat so all accessible for wheelchairs etc.
