Shearwater Resort, Shearwater TAS

We enjoyed our stay here made exploring North Tasmania a dream. Groceries shop across the road .pool.spa.sauna. was welcome after a day exploring. Golf course looks fine .staff were excellent food in house was honest . Beds were not the best but done there job .would come back again

We stayed recently in August and had the best time! The rooms are older but we loved the 70s/80s charm with huge spacious unit, massive main bedroom, big spa bath tub & underfloor heating. We used RCI credits as Wyndham owners & were out adventuring all day, this felt like a home away from home. Big galley kitchen & internal laundry was so handy for our week. If you don't mind older dated interiors, this place is such great comfy value for money and the pub attached makes the best food! Waves Restaurant was perfect. Great food, wines, value and service consistently, we ate there most nights and walked to our room, awesome. The resort has a heated indoor pool, spa and sauna as well. Gorgeous balcony views over a golf course and really handy only 40 mins or so from Launceston city so any direction you travel has things to see. We loved our week there, thanks for a great stay.

We were booked in for a week 20th to 27 July. I wasn't going to do a review but I have decided to do one. We stayed one night and left the next morning forfeiting credits with RCI. On arrival the unit smelt like a male toilet. The bathroom is at the entry to the unit. There are two windows and two sliding doors in the unit and the thermostats set at 32degrees and 27 degrees. Ok if you are needing heat but not so if you find the unit hot. The thermostats are covered by a locked box. There is no choice in the unit temperature. We booked in to the restaurant that first night and the meals we chose were awful. Satay chicken tasted of sugar. We left the next morning and headed to Launceston and enjoyed the rest of our holiday.

Dropped in for an evening meal which was quite good and. nicely presented. Service by a young lady was very good so no complaints.

Abysmal place to stay - like a dinghy rent by the hour motel not a timeshare resort - no heating - 1960s furniture - dishwasher doesn't work - no oven - asked for disability unit - had to go up outside uncovered stairs and use a shower over the bath. No laundry in units - only 2 washing machines for the block of dinghy units and only open 8-8pm. Advertised heated pool but the titantic would have been sunk earlier if using this. Avoid at all costs.
