Stayed here for 8 nights last week and really enjoyed the stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and updated. As a frequent business traveler it was also nice to have lounge access, a nice fitness center, laundry service, and reliable wifi. If I find myself in Sydney again I will certainly stay here - it's central location makes numerous restaurants, shops, and things to do very accessible.

Staff very friendly and efficient. They welcomed me in my cycling gear as I wheeled my bike blithely into the well appointed lobby . Ensured my friend who was late was given a key and ushered upto the room respectfully. Very large hotel. Beautiful big rooms, very well sound insulated. Clean. Electrical interfaces handy to bed and comprehensive. Only one flaw the ironically named dimmer switches next to the bed contained a very very bright blue LED. Which was impossible to turn off or dim. ? In the end I covered them both temporarily with chewing gum and our sleep in the comfy bed was deep and relaxing. Very comprehensive breakfast. My friend enjoyed the Lebanese sausages and I the very well made expresso. Great night. ??

Lovely room, helpful and friendly staff. Club access was great with excellent breakfast and dinner beer drinks. I travel a lot and hate most hotels, this one was different and a lot better than most.

Housekeeping was a huge let down. Stains on the valance. My shower cap, despite being used and thrown in the bin (due to it breaking, very poor quality) was not replaced when my room was "cleaned" the following day. There was no vacuuming done (there were visible bits on the carpet) and the crumbs on the table from me eating the night before were not cleaned when my room was "cleaned". The coffee in the club lounge was the worst coffee I've consumed in years. The room service was appalling, my club sandwich had no resemblance to what a club sandwich is and was inedible, the fish and chips were burnt to a crisp, awful. Some of the staff, servers and chefs, at breakfast were absolutely wonderful, however, anyone that seemed to be in a position of management were utterly useless. Again, that cheap Vittoria coffee that's served in the main breakfast area is disgusting. This is not a luxury, five star property. This was a major fail and I will not be returning to this property and I certainly will not recommend it to anyone.

I did not appreciate finding "The Book of Mormon" in my bedside table and yes, I know the owners of Marriott Hotels are members of this cult.

The positives were room size, the location and leaving, knowing I'll never return.

Finally, this is a very large hotel with 558 rooms. There is zero personalisation of service. If you want to be staying in a hotel where you are merely a cog in a giant wheel, then this is for you.

Wow. Best hotel experience in years. I was here for a big conference, and the hotel did a phenomenal job on the facilities, the technology, and the food and amenities.

Rooms are lovely and well air conditioned. The Level 22 gym, pool, sauna and steam room are amazing and adjacent to fabulous views.

The location simply could not be better.

The service is really top tier, someone is always ready to jump in and help you with anything - including in my case items I'd left behind in the room.

Highly recommended.

Been there for 4 nights. A few points to note:
1- location is awesome. Easy access to everything. Room was spacious.
2- The cleaning staff were great.
3- restaurant's food quality was good, waiters and waitresses were friendly and polite.
4- One point to note: the room's washroom sink was clogged and I ask the reception three times to finally unclog it. After we came back we notice that the left what it was in the drain on top of the sink, which was not the best thing to do!!
5- on Christmas Day and without notice they closed the restaurant and opened another venue (buffet style) with 245 per person entrance which was a hefty price and I wouldn't call it a fair action.
6- we ordered beef tongue and wood fired whole chicken . The beef was magnificent. The chicken was also good except for the fact that the leg part of the chicken was medium rare (not the best term to describe it technically).
7- swimming pool was small and shallow but still lovely.

In general, I would rate it as an acceptable place to reside in.

My best friend and I specifically booked the Sheraton for a spa day and High Tea to celebrate our birthdays.

I called ahead and asked about Valet parking, they said it would be $85. We pulled up to Valet and the service man wasn't very accommodating and wasn't really friendly as such. He had to check about the Valet service as we weren't hotel guests but coming in to use the spa facilities only. He ended up taking the car through for us (And was again reminded about the $85 Valet fee).

We proceeded through to the spa and had our massages done in the rooms with amazing views! The masseuses were very lovely and the massages we had were sooo good, definitely wanted to relax and unwind, however the pool was closed due to maintenance (We should have been notified of this, especially because we booked for this reason, to use the facilities, have a relaxing spa day and follow it up by having High Tea lunch).

So this was very disappointing that we could not use the pool or the jacuzzi. We ended up using the sauna and the steam room. There were only 2 x showers in the toilets as well. I would hate to see it when the hotel is busier with more guests.

The lockers are not very suitcase/travel bag-friendly too, you can only fit a few items in there, luckily I had a bag that could squish down to fit inside the small lockers.

We had the High Tea lunch which was amazing, but there was confusion on cloak room, ended up having my big bag with me whilst dining, which was fine but I would have preferred for it to be put away in a cloak room.

After High Tea, we went to pick up the keys for our car that was Valet parked, we were then told we had complimentary parking as part of our spa day that we booked, we weren't told of this at all, we could have parked the car ourselves and for FREE!

Parking Supervisor ended up charging us $32 instead of $85, however we should have had FREE parking and not be charged at all!

It was a very disappointing day for our birthday celebration, we should have had proper customer service, been told about the complimentary parking, been notified about the pool and jacuzzi facilities not being available on the day, we should have been given a choice to reschedule.

Also upon completion of our massage, we should have been offered some water or tea, like other day spa/massage places, just the attention to detail when it comes to basic customer service and care, it was lacking at the Sheraton on our visit.

Just disappointed about the overall experience, Sheraton needs to up their game when it comes to customer service and trying to be better hosts!!

We had an amazing night performing at a wedding last Saturday. We were thoroughly impressed with the team's professionalism in coordinating the event's details. A special shoutout to Varsha and Anna for their invaluable assistance. Everything ran smoothly, making the night truly memorable for both us and the couple. I had a pleasant stay here for a week in July for a work trip. This is not my first time at the Sheraton, and I always like coming back to the familiarity of the place, which is nice when you are away from home! I was glad I was able to check in early after arriving on an early morning flight - so thank you! The only thing I noticed was that breakfast was a bit chaotic due to the restaurant undergoing renovation. You can also easily walk to most places around the CBD, the Botanic Gardens, the Art Gallery, etc. The best part is probably that Hyde Park is just across the hotel.

I travel frequently and usually stay at Marriott hotels. As a treat for the family we occasionally stay at this hotel for a night or two and spend the day in the City. It used to be great. The high floor lounge was relaxing and cozy and my wife and daughter loved it. Unfortunately they have changed their policy and no longer allow children in the lounge. On a past stay they compensated by setting up an alternative area for canapés. However on the most recent stay they did not even do this. I had enquired about it when making the booking and was assured it would be the case. On the night nobody knew anything about it and were running around confused. They sat us in the bar lounge and brought a plate of sweets for my daughter. Hardly a healthy meal. It was very disappointing and this is the only hotel we visit that seems to have an issue with children in the lounge. We won't be staying here again. Other Marriott chain hotels welcome children in the lounge and we always enjoy our time there. This is a poor place to stay if you have elite status and children. Not kid friendly at all. The picture is what they offered my five year old for dinner.

Awesome place to stay. All the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel so welcome. Big shout out to Vincent who was so friendly and helpful...loved our chats.
Also G at the buffet who made us laugh each morning with his great sense of humour! Well done all!
Our room was perfect and had everything we needed. Great central location that was close to the train station and central Sydney.

I have absolutely loved this stay, this hotel and its staff have impressed and wow'd me. They have done simple things, like good quality, shampoo and soaps, but in big bottles rather than the tiny ones that create waste.

The bed was incredible, sheets and quits amazing, had such a good sleep. The rooms are recently renovated and are stunning.

The gym was epic, like an actual proper gym with lots of equipment, and the pool, spas and sauna were great.

Beautiful venue, looks over at James park with stunning views and right next to the train station.

5 stars from me.

Beautiful, well presented rooms with everything you need.
The king bed , linen and pillows were fantastic and just what you expect from a 5 star hotel.
I enjoyed the fitness centre, with great steam and sauna rooms.
The location was perfect for the train, museum, opera house and botanic gardens etc.
I would definitely stay again , when in Sydney.

So we did not stay here, we only went for dinner.
It was beautiful to walk into the premises and very elegant.
We went to the smorgasbord.
The pizza was very ordinary; the brisket was tasteless though very tender.
No cooked seafood apart from red salmon.
The pork schnitzel was very dry.
Prawns, oysters and crab etc. were lovely
I had to ask for water on several occasions
The used seafood bowl was taken and never replaced.
Staff need to smile More.
I don't usually write any reviews, but $260 for two with only one cocktail was too much.

Classy and grand five STAR hotel. The rooms are nicely renovated and comfy. Location is perfect to explore Sydney. Definitely give it a go. Rooms are also larger than most new hotel rooms. Good for larger groups. Also ask for a room away from the elevators as you do get a little bit on noise.

This hotel is fabulous! The people are kind and go out of there way to make you feel welcome! Daniela took the extra time to help us come up with a plan for our time in Sydney! The Taft in the club room greeted you with a smile and cheerfulness that made you excited to be there! The food in the club area was also beautiful and tasty! Thank you for making our stay so magical! We were sad to leave!

The best feature of the Sheraton Grand is the rooftop pool, and in particular its small outside balcony, which has some of the best views of any Sydney hotel.
Even if you don't fancy a swim, head up here and enjoy the views across Hyde Park to the Harbour and out to the Heads. Open to all guests, even those with the cheapest rooms.
The Sheraton Grand Hyde Park s also well placed for shopping, as it's right around the corner from Pitt Street, and is not too far from the tram, and Chinatown.
Rooms are a reasonable size, with a good range of power points and a decent sized accessible closet.
Compared to many of the 5 star hotels in Sydney, this is a good deal for the price.

Room is comfy and nice and the lobby is absolutely beautiful. Front desk staff were polite and friendly. Room service was delivered quick and was high quality.
However for the price of this hotel I believe that there are better options for high end accomodation in the city especially for those travelling for leisure instead of business. They seem to be stuck in the out dated phase of extreme overcharging for the mini bar ($8 for a can of soft drink) ($20-$30 for alcohol) which is just not how they things should be done anymore. Another huge disappointment was the credit card surcharge (adding Approx $90 to the bill)
Overall a good experience but unsure if I would return due to value for money.

Let me start by saying the hotel is amazing we had a wonderful time, everything was impeccable from check in to the room itself, staff at the bar, breakfast and facilities were all amazing.

Why the one star?

The hotel decided to change the rate i had booked the room at. I was charged $267.97 more after i had checked out and returned home. No it wasn't minibar or extras, just the room. Apparently there were issues during my check in and the rate reverted back to the current day rate. So now i find myself wasting my time sending emails to prove the rate that i had booked at. Surely their systems would have this sort of information.

So a great experience that has now left a sour taste. Have contacted via chat in the app to which i was told of the issue and a refund would take place. No refund as yet and record of the chat on their system. I called and sent the email showing the confirmation and price. Now i wait..........

A friend recommended the Sheraton Grand after they've stayed a few times. So far I've enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room is nice, plenty of outlets for various devices. The view of the park is phenomenal...I can look out the window all day. I also love the location as it is close to CBD, but feels like a world apart thanks to the proximity to Hyde Park.

My only con is the food at the hotel. It's decent, but doesn't compare to similar hotels in the area. There are a lot of great food options in the area so it's not a negative for me, but wanted to mention it for people that like to eat regularly at the hotel.

The Sheraton on Hyde Park is a lovely place to stay. Anything that doesn't require human contact is excellent. I was impressed with the room beautifully presented, clean, great view, comfortable beds and a lovely place to stay the night. The bathroom was very nice, with bath soap, shampoo and conditioner by Gilchrist and Soammes, exceptionally good.

The check in and check out service was good, despite the 3pm check in having a queue of 10 groups.

What wasn't good breakfast had some okay options. The pastries must have been external order and were excellent. The rest of the food was cold, despite getting to the buffet at 6.30am. The coffees arrived at the end of our breakfast and were okay. What was most disappointing was the staff. They seemed irritated whenever coming into contact with people and just didn't want to be bothered or even want to be there. Despite working sections that needed service.

Having stayed in excellent hotels around the world. There is a difference between excellent service and low budget service. The only excellent service I saw was from the "bell men" helping with bags at the front.

Would love to see a massive improvement in service. Especially for a nice hotels.

What an incredible experience we had staying here. This is now my favorite hotel in Sydney, of the two hotels we've stayed at in our trip here.

The Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park is elegant and situated right opposite Hyde Park. It's also literally steps away from a bus stop and just a few minutes' walk away from the St. James train station.

As our flight got in extremely early at 7am, we weren't sure if we could check in, but the friendly reception staff, Michelle, was able to get us a room early. We were grateful at being able to shower before we started our day.

Our room is spacious and comfortable, and it also has a deep bathtub and a shower enclosure. The shower enclosure actually kept water from spilling out, unlike some other hotels. The indoor heated pool was comfortable, and the hot whirlpool was what we needed to unwind in.

As someone who has been trying to stay fit, I was impressed by the extensively equipped fitness center - complete with barbells, dumbbells, weightlifting machines, and cardio equipment - which was even better than my home gym. The men's changing room also has its own steam room and sauna.

You can't go wrong with this hotel. If there's one hotel you want to use as your Sydney exploration base, this would be it.

My husband and I stayed for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We loved the indoor pool, spa, sauna and gym. The room was spacious and the king bed so comfortable. The service was very friendly and efficient. The buffet breakfast was bountiful and delicious (we had a window seat both times we ate there, with a lovely view of Hyde Park) and we enjoyed the seafood buffet on our last night also (the deserts were a standout). Thank you for such a nice time. My husband doesn't want to stay anywhere else now when in Sydney!

Purchased 2 person high tea for pick up yesterday and everything was delicious. I was able to park quickly at the Sheraton entrance, pop out to get my box of high tea. Very reasonably priced at $69 for two people.

An agreeable quarantine stay. I didn't suffer any of the issues raised by recent reviewers. Good room, varied food selection (all of which was pleasant) and attentive staff. I can recommend this to anyone wanting a 5 star in Sydney's CBD.

Just about to finish my Quarantine here. The rooms are amazing, the food is great. The view over Hyde park is stunning and relaxing. Quarantine sucks but if you get to spend it in Sheraton Grand it's sucks a lot less.

The rooms are lovely. The quarantine food is awful. People are heating their cold and uncooked food with the irons! That's not $3k well spent. Sort it out Sheraton. No amount of feedback is changing anything.

We love and enjoy our stay here most of the times, its the place to stay, if go to Syd for shopping.
But beware last time we stay in this hotel at pandemic time, some of the staff are under trained, not honest and the manager can keep blaming you for their mistake and also very desperate for money!
Trapping guest to pay for something under complementary/ something we are NOT acknowledge is very wrong.
Next visit will definitely when their revenue are up.
