Stayed here for the weekend 2nights, for Vivid. This hotel is an old charmer with all that goes with it. The service was excellent and the room was very clean and all that we expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is so close to Circular quay, the Sydney Opera House, trams, and a short walk to the Rocks. The price we paid for the room was also very reasonable. We will definitely stay here again when in Sydney.

5 star experience due to location, breakfast, and parking. The location was perfect - minutes from the Opera House, Circular Quay, and The Rocks. Breakfast was delicious. The free parking was the biggest cost-saver with this hotel - unlimited self-parking in the garage beneath the hotel for the duration of the stay.

I stayed at the Sir Stamford Hotel at the end of January this year, and it was one of the best hotel stays I have had.

When we first checked in and saw our room, we noticed the window didn't open. While this didn't bother me personally, it's important for my partner, who has a dust allergy, to have access to fresh air for his comfort. We let the staff at the reception desk know, and they immediately began to try to find a solution to help us. They found a perfect room, and we didn't need to pay anything extra. He kindly escorted us to multiple available rooms until they found one that suited our needs perfectly. The staff member assisting us was extremely friendly, although unfortunately, I didn't catch his name.

We then ordered food to the hotel and the restaurant didn't give us any tomato sauce, so I called the reception and asked if they had any I could come down to grab or buy. The man who answered the phone told us not to worry and that he would be right up. After a few minutes, we got a knock at the door, and the man had shown up with a handful of tomato sauce containers. He was very polite and generous and completely made our dinner and night. I was unable to get this mans name either.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay here and would stay here again if we returned to Sydney. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!
came to see the gentleman magician perform at the stamford and have an overnight stay with my family- best experience ever! the show was fantastic and i highly recommend seeing him if you can. the room had a lovely old time charm to it, so did the rest of the hotel. the room was clean and tidy, the staff were fantastic and extremely welcoming and were very helpful when we had a large group checking in at different times. the location was so nice too! made it easy to pop out for a stroll along the harbour. 5/5 highly recommend!

Could not fault the customer service. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.
Walk down the street and you are at the Sydney Opera House. Right across the road is the Sydney Botanical Gardens, and a stone's throw to Circular Quay. Location is ideal for a city getaway.

Luxury and marble is the way to describe the room, although the hotel seems to be a bit tired and in need of some refurbishment.

We paid $60 for 24 hours of parking underneath the hotel, and it was worth it to leave our car in a secure spot, and not have to worry about getting around as we were in walking distance of all major attractions of Sydney.

Would recommend if you are going to the Opera House. 5-star location.

Lovely old world hotel although our room was quite dusty. I wouldn't recommend if you have dust allergies.
The Christmas decor not up to hotels presentation. If not there at Christmas no biggie.
Breakfast was included for us very nice spread. Although only the baked beans seemed to be hot on all 3 mornings.
The coffee in the machine was better than I expected really good.
The staff ok.
Bit mean with the coffee in the room I think they are trying to save money in many areas.
All in all a lovely room and out look.
I was looking forward to a sauna when we arrived and it was out of order.
If we go to Sydney again I would stay at the Sir Stamford.

Great stay - made me think of a european manor house. Room was massive and so was bathroom. Tasty breakfast with huge selection.
Location was perfect for us - 3 min walk to train station and ferries

We stayed in a spacious double double room, with plenty of space and classic furniture. The bathroom was large, including both separate shower and bath, plus two sinks. Annoying that the power point on the kettle was off, which took a while to notice and correct. Main lacking is self-catering item (such as plates and cutlery) and there was no toaster. Beds were very comfortable and we slept well in spite of the odd noise from other rooms.

Location was great, walking distance to the opera house, botanical gardens, and bus stops/train station. Staff was really professional, friendly and helpful.
Decor is on the old/vintage side, and there was always a smell in the elevator/lobby area like burnt wood scent, not an overkill but definitely noticeable. The only reason why I give them 4 starts is because the bed was really really soft, my husband and I woke up with backaches every day. Other than that, this is a great hotel at a great location.

?Gorgeous Hotel, beautiful styled room very clean & tidy. thoughtly enjoyed my stay. Fantastic views, had a Juliet balcony could open the windows very quiet for location. Lots of Birds sings in the morning. Breakfast in the Dining room lovely decor & very clean. Breakfast large selection of hot & cold foods. Yummy yummy
Hot food. No hurry relaxing start to the day. Staff very polite & helpful. Perfect location so close to Circular Quey, Opera house, trains & ferries. 2 minute walk. Nice park opposite hotel & lovely walks near by. For Me the wonderful location & Great hotel.Looking forward to my next stay. The train to or from Hotel to Airport was so easy, I like to travel light in luggage so was very quick for me. Perfect in every way. Loved this Hotel?

Beautiful, old-style hotel in a great location. Just few minutes to Sydney Opera House, ferry, and train station. Walking distance to Sydney and Australia museums, and heritage places such as the Rock. Breakfast was also fine, we didn't used hotel facilities such as gym and pool. The room was also large and was maintained well.

The hotel is great! The service and location is super good. The only downfall about this hotel is its decor and style. The hotel and room we stayed in was quite dated whilst the bathroom was good. Overall, the room and decor is quite old fashioned. Ultimately, you should consider this hotel for your next hotel. My family and I, had an enjoyable time staying here for our holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at the sir Stamford the room was spacious, clean and quiet. we had a nice little view looking over circular quay. Pretty much all of Sydney's things to do are not far from the hotel.

We came to the Highlands Bar for high tea. My friend suggested we come here as it feels like we are in the UK The atmosphere is exactly that, very relaxing. The food is great, more generous than the usual high tea elsewhere. The waiter was very helpful. It's a relaxing small bar.

Loved the high tea! Good balance of both sweet and savoury items. The Indian spiced one was my favourite. Scones look unassuming but were actually one of the best I've had from high teas. Would be better if they were warmer

We went to spa for a massage and facial on Mother's Day. The staff were so nice and the service was incredible. My skin was glowing after, and my blemishes were significantly reduced. The massage was perfect, there was nice music, it was super relaxing. Highly recommend. Thank you to the staff at serendipity day spa!

Attended a Sunday High Tea in the Whisky Bar. Nice environment, good service. Only negative, they don't make cocktails which we had asked for to toast a special occasion. Nice place to meet and chat. Quiet.

Attended a private event in a function room so unable to comment on the hotel aspect. However, the staff were wonderful, very attentive and friendly, anticipating the needs of all the attendees.
I also loved the decor, conjuring an old school (?gentleman's) club feeling.
The range of wines, spirits and liqueurs on offer in the bar was also outstanding.

A beautiful old style hotel with plenty of charm and character. Would highly recommend staying here especially if you are boarding a Ship at Circular Quay as the Hotel is in walking distance. The service and rooms were really nice and clean with a touch of class with the Marble Bathroom and quality antique furnishings throughout this Hotel.
Guaranteed a really great experience, as the Hotel is also well located to The City of Sydney. Make sure you look at this place for your next stay in Sydney.

By far one of the most impressive accommodations we have stayed in, from the comfort of the room to the exceptional service given. Fay at reception was exceptional. My mother wasn't 100% and the care given was beyond excellent. Can't wait to stay here again. Thank you Fay for being amazing and you portrayed one of the the highest levels of customer service i have experienced in a very long time.
Had a great stay here with my boyfriend. The hotel itself has a unique characteristic. The room is clean and the swimming pool is lovely. The view in the room of Opera House and Harbor Bridge is fantastic. The service is nice. However, giving 4 stars as the breakfast wasn't fresh enough - some fruits were moldy.

Will love to visit here again.

The only reason for 1 star less was that our room was right above the air-conditioning vent that hummed all night.
Other than that it was gorgeous, super clean, had a huge bathroom with a bathtub (5 stars ? in that alone), bed and pillows super comfy. The room was warm without it being stuffy.
Little extras such as slippers and robes, good quality toiletries, a shoe shine service.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.

NB: we booked online so therefore did not have a choice in rooms.

Despite the great location and the old-world feeling, the rooms could benefit for some upgrades in general, also to allow it to feel more fresh/clean, given the amount of furniture and carpet across. Having complementary water would always be a welcome addition for tourists like us. Good value for money, although I may consider other options in the future as being more comfortable, in general.

So warm and inviting. Felt really relaxed and enjoyed the food and company. Such a lovely place to have a wedding.
The chandeliers were amazing

Amazing place. The concierge David explained the local area with his expert knowledge upon arrival. When we went up to our room we were amazed by how big the room was. Complete comfort and luxury with excellent customer service. Ideal location also being short walk to opera house and darling harbour. Highly recommend and will be back.

We love the Sir Stamford at Circular Quay & always enjoy not only it's comfortable relaxed atmosphere but also the friendly professional service. The Whiskey Bar is our favourite place to go before/after a show or just a great place to enjoy good quality food/beverages on a night out. Accomodation is also fantastic & we just love that there is a little bit of "London" in Macquarie Street.

Booked a room with free parking which was onsite. I'd recommend parking out the front, taking your bags in and then parking the car. The room was massive, the bathroom was opulent and the quaint balcony offered a nice breeze and beautiful view of multiple construction sites nearby. Amazing staff - so friendly and helpful on check in and out.

The hotel lobby and floors themselves I'd recommend taking some time out to go through slowly - the artwork and furnishings incredible.

Lovely bar and not noisy. Had as great time and could hear myself think!
The drinks were great as well but if you want great atmosphere with quiet, go here.

Attended the Wizardry High Tea, service was slow - it looked like they lacked staff. Also, it was strange seeing a manager almost "yell" out loud to the patrons, "Does anyone have food allergies?" Unbecoming of a so-called 5 Star hotel. It was an event where we registered, put on a guestlist and assigned tables. I had a young child in my party whom we informed prior that she had a dairy allergy. They nearly mixed up her allergy requested high tea tower with another person's order.
