Smithfield Tavern

Came for my wife's birthday. Service was slow, not the food just the server, and not friendly. Food was good, prices were good. It was a Wednesday night 1st April 2026. No other customers for dining. After our meals and a couple of drinks, we were told there was a 2 drink limit. What!!! Photo of our group, included. No was drunk or disorderly. Worst experience here. Can't even drink at a pub. Very disappointing.

I dropped into Smithfield Tavern for a weekday lunch and was thoroughly impressed. If you\'re looking for a quality meal that doesn\'t break the bank, this is the spot.

The steak special is truly excellent value. It's rare to find such a well-priced meal that doesn't compromise on quality. The steak itself was perfectly marinated, tender, and packed with flavour. To top it off, the salad serving was very generous, providing a fresh and crisp balance to the meal.

The seating was comfortable, making it an easy place to relax and enjoy the food. It has a welcoming vibe that's perfect for a break during the work week.

Highly recommended if you\'re in the area and want a satisfying, high-value lunch!

First time I have come here to Smithfield Tavern I ordered for myself a meal of Rump steak 200g with garden salad + chips with gravy. It was on of the best meals ever....Equal to my mother Chef cooking knowledge. 5 Stars for both

We were welcomed warmly by Lidia (who also served us), she was attentive and, seemed to know when we needed something. We enjoyed our evening immensely. Highly recommended the beef cheeks for dinner and the pink Gin and soda was very well made.

As a table, we ordered 5 wagyu burgers. It was a little busy, so we had to wait just a little, but they were awesome. The sauce was just spicy enough, not too much. The patty was huge and perfect, and the bread was toasted and fresh.
There was a cool atmosphere in the tavern. I can highly recommend
