I usually stay in motels for work but this was all that was available. I was so pleasantly surprised! The service from the moment I walked in was lovely, informative and welcoming. Room was tidy, clean and comfortable. Beautiful river views. Cheap happy hr and the best pub meal I've had in a long time !

Went to dinner with the family, 4 adults & 4 children. Our food came out fast and was absolutely amazing! Very well priced and the kids meals are also very generous! We can't wait to come back.

I cannot recommend The Star Hotel and the restaurant. The service, food, and atmosphere was superb. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I could not fault anything tonight! Thank you so much!!!!!

Great food from the Bistro since the Star has changed hands.

Did a stop over in Macksville on the way to Gold Coast, my husband had been here years ago for work and recommended The Star Hotel, what a lovely gem to fine.
Wonderful food sooooooo mouthwatering, 6 of us dined and all the meals were beautifully presented and cooked perfectly, the staff were very friendly and had a smile on their faces constantly
Will definitely be back, as hardest thing to do was to make a decision on what to eat

Wow since my last review the bistro has changed hands and what a brilliant change. All of our meals were delicious, fresh and hot. We couldn't fault anything.
The menu was extensive and it was really hard to choose something so we will definitely be back to try something else.
