Wonderful helpful and friendly staff. The only drawback to the place is lack of an elevator, but the staff insisted on carrying our bags when we arrived and left, so no problem. Perfect location and comfy room. Can recommend.

Great rooms, that may be compact in size but are very well set out with what feels like heaps of space still for you to put your stuff. Brekky was a great set up, bunch of pastries and yoghurt pots that we took back to our room and had Brekky in bed! Roof top bar was a great treat shortly after we arrived aswell!

I had a lovely stay at this pub/hotel. I was unexpectedly upgraded to a deluxe room which was an added bonus. My heavy suitcase was taken up 3 flights of stairs while I was waiting for check-in which I was very grateful for. My room was lovely and a bathrobe was even provided. There was a nice welcoming note as well. I had dinner in the pub bistro. I had a hankering for proper pub food after a holiday in India and I was not disappointed. My steak and mushroom pie with mashed potato was excellent. Then to top it off I had a cocktail in the rooftop bar which was nice and I was made to feel welcome on my own. A great stay.

The Strand has undergone a few changes recently, and while a fresh vibe and new energy are always exciting, what truly defines a great venue is its staff. This is the second time I've been served by Tom, and I felt compelled to share a positive review.

Tom consistently delivers exceptional customer service, which makes every visit memorable. As a late-night spot, The Strand inevitably deals with its share of intoxicated patrons, and Tom handles these situations with remarkable grace and professionalism.

He's not only skilled at what he does but also comes across as a genuine and approachable person. It's clear that The Strand is fortunate to have a bartender like Tom on their team. He truly elevates the experience and ensures customers feel welcome and well taken care of. Well done Tom!

Impeccable Service!
I called the day before Melbourne Cup to see if The Strand could fit us in for a casual work lunch and drinks. Jason, who took my call, was incredibly accommodating, arranging a table and a view of the race at short notice.

When we arrived, we had the best seats in the house. Jason's service throughout the day was outstanding - he handled our large food and drink orders seamlessly and made sure everything was spot-on. The Public Bar food was exceptional, a step above standard pub fare, with high-quality produce and the kitchen delivered our meals in unison (seven mains and four sides, all at a perfect temperature!).

I'll definitely be back and can't wait to check out the rooftop bar as well. Cheers!
