The Surveyor General Inn, Berrima NSW

I had the special snapper and it did contain bones. Apart from that it was like eating soft rubber! Tasteless and totally unlike how snapper should taste. Most enjoyable of that dish was everything that came with the fish! I noticed another snapper being taken to a table and it looked just as bad as mine!Other meals at our table were mediocre and I wouldn't recommend your food. The staff however were excellent. No we didn't complain about the food. When you're eating in a group you don't want to be the person eating a replacement meal after everyone else has finished! Perhaps the chef and staff need to try the food and critique it!
Ambiance isn't bad but for the hearing impaired it's very difficult to hear and participate in conversation.

The venue had super friendly pub and bar staff that really made the visit. I love all the history stuff on the walls, the trip from my bathroom back to my table felt like a mini museum tour. It is all a little bit overpriced for what you get (3 steak sandwiches and some garlic bread was 110 with the 10% surcharge), however I could understand maintaining the quality and standards of a place that big and that well manicured couldn't be cheap.

Had the best time NY day. Live music, great atmosphere and, as always, fabulous food. Two people had steaks and they were cooked perfectly as were the chicken wings. Never had a bad meal at the SG. The staff are consistently lovely and cannot do enough to help. This is my favourite Highlands pub and it's where l take my visitors when we want an exceptional, casual meal.

As always outstanding service from Corey and the team. Meal was to die for, compliments to the chef. Cannot recommend this pub highly enough for service and atmosphere!

Went for lunch at the bistro and it was really good. We were all very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. We got a very warm welcome and all the staff were smiling and friendly. We tried the ham hock terrine, calamari, chicken wings (hot), sirloin steak, fish and chips and all were excellent. The portions were generous and the taste was very good. We will certainly be back in a hurry to try other dishes. Recommended. It was very busy so do book your table in advance to avoid disappointment.
