The accommodation has been newly renovated. The bedrooms were perfect. I don't know why we were charged different rates for 2 people in each room. On the first day, we could not get the showers to run hot water. The taps on the hand basins are a misfit. One shower was leaking badly! Belinda was superb at the pub reception. The meals had varied reviews. Chicken schitnzel was the best at $20. The kitchen kitchen was good with ample milk and cereals. Overall, an enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Called in right on 2 pm most pubs I been to would have already closed their kitchen. Wasn't a problem here. Good food friendly staff. Thanks for a great time.

We had the best pub meal we've had in ages. Great value. Two of us had rump steak - awesome steaks, perfectly cooked. Two had chicken schnitzels that were also great. Heaps of side (mash and veg/chips and salad). We will definitely be stopping in again!

I stayed here on a bikepacking trip from Mittagong. The pub was warm and friendly with good beers on tap. The food was good honestly pub food, nothing fancy, but good for when you're famished. The rooms are fine, a little bare, but the bed was comfortable and the room clean. The common shower would be better with some hooks for your stuff when you're showering. All in all a good experience

Had lunch only. Was plain but well cooked and fresh . A good atmosphere in a very beautiful old town

Good old country pub . Meet some good people over the dinner . Staff were helpful . Overall very satisfied with a short stay .

One star for the relatively friendly service. Advised of 30 - 40 Min wait on two Burgers due to large crowd. We didn't see any large crowd and average Burgers came 1hr 20 later. Not pubs fault however two feralsl with dogs off-leash ignored their animals jumping on chairs and front legs up on tables chasing scraps. The old building is beautiful but dine elsewhere.

Beautiful old pub. Stopped for lunch and hung out in the sun. Gorgeous gardens at the back and plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy. Staff were friendly and fairly attentive. Accommodation looked neat and clean. Was let down slightly by the meal unfortunately. The lamb skewers were juicy and perfect, however the sides were stingy, about 5-6 chips on the plate and a tiny amount of Greek salad, so not good value for the price. If they'd added a decent amount of sides it would have been amazing. Lovely village to walk through as well.

A beautiful tiny tidy town. The hotel is a stand out to locals and visitors.
A great atmosphere where soft music plays in all the relaxing places to have a drink. Be it on the footpath, in one of the bars, dining room, or outback in the warmth of the sun while being stroked by a cool breeze.
Plenty of food choices, and they are delicious.
The staff are friendly and ready to assist.
The rooms are clean and tidy, with a shared, clean, bathroom.
The shared kitchen is well stocked and is clean and fresh ready for breakfast when you are.
A very enjoyable experience.

Stopped here overnight on a motorcycle trip. The down side is the accom is fairly rundown and minor trash under & around beds for the price ($130per room with share bath).. and as some have mentioned, one of the showers looks permanently closed (no tap handles)... lounge TV didnt seem to work... we'd expect to pay little over half that for such rooms ... on the up flip side, there is a self-serve continental breakfast room, quiet overnight (midweek) and the friendly helpful staff make up for the shortcomings ... pub grub was excellent too... and undercover motorcycle parking .... loved the extra squeaky corridor floorboards, no chance of cat burglars
The food for dinner was excellent, esp the smoked beef ribs, again the staff were great, lighting the open fire

Stopped over for lunch. Great local pub with a good selection of food and beers (including their local Taralga brew). Staff were very friendly and atmosphere good. Chips were great but the burger only average. Patty was a bit overcooked and dry.

Stopped off for lunch , good selection of burgers, very tasty. Met some locals, great old country pub.

As you would expect from a small country town, great hospitality and cold beer if you are lucky you might win in the Friday raffle.

Stopped here for lunch during a road trip to Taralga with two friends. The member of staff who took our order was very friendly, she graciously took the time to tell us about the various meals we were considering buying, and offered a few suggestions. We ended up getting :
Two Flat White coffees
One Cheeky Cheesey burger, with chips
One serving of Quinoa & Kidney Bean Nachos
One Chicken Parmy
One serving of Nutella Cheesecake
Two servings of Apple Crumble Slice

After paying for our meals, we were invited to wait in the dining room, which was surprisingly luxurious for country pub. Soon the coffees arrived, these were well made, tasted great, and were nice and hot on this winter's day. Not long after this, the main meals started to arrive. I had the Cheeky Cheesey burger, this really was a premium burger, nice seeded bun, well cooked patty, nice cheese, and just a slight tang to give it a little kick. The accompanying chips were very well cooked, crispy, and very lightly seasoned. My friends' meals were of generous portion size, both friends remarked on how much they enjoyed them.

Before the desserts were served, the chef dropped by to ask us how we enjoyed our meals, and to speak a little about the ingredients and how the meals were prepared. The desserts then arrived, I had the Nutella Cheesecake, mmmm. My friends enjoyed their Apple Crumble Slices. An enjoyable and satisfying meal.

The three of us thouroughly enjoyed our visit to the Taralga Hotel, the staff were friendly and engaging, the atmosphere was very relaxing, all of the food was delicious and very well prepared. I'd very much like to visit again, to sample other meals. Recommended.

Ordered lunch for my husband and myself, pizza arrived within 5 minutes of sitting down. Burger took another 25 minutes! The plan was to have lunch out together. ?

Had a lovely dinner here. Great atmosphere, matched only by the delicious food and friendly staff.

Yummy burger, awesome sticky date pudding. Can't ask more from pub food.

We had the schnitzel with mash and veg. Was really nice. Veges were so fresh. A simple meal but delicious. Staff were really friendly too.

Stopped for lunch when passing through. Delicious fresh burger just how I like it, nice crisp toasted seeded bun and just the right balance of fresh fillings.
Coffee was good and venue was nice old style. Women on staff was easy going and welcoming, overall a very good place.

Nice cozy place, wood fire, good service , bit funny though, didn't have the ingredients for a drink I chose from the menu,, so I got the old mate beer instead, nothing like a nice cold one though, cheers!

Travelled to Taralga with the intention of stopping in for refreshments and lunch. The hotel is located in the centre of town and oddest a fantastic outdoor area to eat and drink while watching passing motorists or motorcycles. The selection of beers is adequate and the menu offers a good range of food. The group I was with enjoyed their meals, although I chose not to eat on the day. Great service and location, highly recommended.

Stopped in for lunch after a job.. AMAZING food !! and such friendly service. Can't wait to go back.

5.very friendly service (worth a mention second time, as we arrived outside of kitchen ope hours, but guys at the bar offered to make us wood fire pizza because they had the fire stoked up ready, also ordered a couple hot chocolates for the kids to go, when they realised we where putting in in the kid thermo they made extra and filled it up, staff smiling and engaged, can't speak highly enough of the friendly and helpful staff)

Really good rooms and amenities for the price . Located close to the towns two awesome cafes. Bar had a good amount of local beer and craft on tap that kept us happy

We had lunch there two days ago. Owner/staff made us feel like home, we picked a table at the back right next to the fire place. Owner/staff came few times checked the fire place was working well and make sure we were warm enough. The food was outstanding. Love this hotel !

Waited an hour for our food! Which is sad, pub has heaps of potential to be one of the best! Beers good! But if your stopping fo lunch be prepared to wait!

Great food, cosy rooms and a couple of comfortable sitting areas downstairs with fireplaces, great stay!

Nice little pub, paid over 35 dollars for a takeaway six pack though so be careful!

Very dissapointing. Called in for lunch, place was reasonably busy, but we didn't expect to wait over an hour for 2 pot pies. Not informed of any delay, no apology, the beef pot pie was good, the pork tasted like the cook spilled the salt shaker into it. Will not be going back.

Bed was comfy, owner/staff welcoming and food in the restaurant was really nice. Showers hot. As a solo traveller, though, the many noisy uncontrolled kids in the restaurant area were hard to take. Music on the speakers very 70's/80's Aussie. Bewdy! NRL blaring in the front bar. No quiet spot. Escaped to bed at 9pm! Definitely a pub for local families with lots of young kids. Clearly not my crowd. But, for all that, a nice place to rest a night. ;-)
