We visited the Tarana Hotel with a car club what an incredible hidden gem it is
• Food was delicious
• Views were amazing
• And the trip in and the surrounding countryside was endless views
• Definitely well worth the drive
• Plenty of parking

5 stars for the great location and outdoor seating. Could had given an extra start if they would be better craft beers on tap. Lots of local breweries to showcase: Mountain Beer Culture, Reckless, Badlands

Been coming to this pub for years. Always been good but have to say lately they've re really lifted their game especially in the food area.
11 of us booked for dinner. Ordered everything from the barramundi through to the steaks. Everything came out together, hot, beautifully cooked and nicely presented.
Outstanding food, great service and excellent menu.

Stopped in today while on a ride. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We had steak sandwich, amazing. Pulled pork burger... Sensational. Pork ends and spring rolls. Maybe a cheeky beer. Great location.. Highly recommend.

Dropped in tonight for dinner. Ordered two steaks, nuggets for the kids and a couple of drinks. Spent over $100.

Kids nuggets came out about 15 minutes before the steaks.
Steaks were ordered well done and were absolutely not. They looked like they had been cooked in the microwave and thrown on the grill for a second. Very little searing on the outside of the steak, one steak was red inside the other pink the whole way. They were also cold.
When we told the waitress the steaks weren't very good and were definitely not well done she said 'that's OK' and took our plates.
I wouldn't normally write a review but her response to our $100 meal not being up to standard was unhelpful and rude.

An absolute hidden gem. This place sums up "Australia". Friendly, great food beautiful views and very kid friendly Live music most Sundays. The cabins attached are not perfect, but have everything you need. I highly recommend Tarana hotel.

Ate the most delicious chicken wings here. The service is outstanding and the hospitality isn't like anything i've seen before. If you get the chance to drink or eat something, do. It is a lovely place to just unwind and enjoy the valley or to have a nice poolgame with your friends. Tarana hotel really is the place to be and while your at it make sure to check out momma snow's too

Best pub in Tarana??, got pool, warm wood fire, plenty of space for a group of 15+ people. Out the back onsite and more room outside! The train stops here occasionally, check for times.

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch . Generous meal size Surf n surf and the burger. Nice sitting in the sun on a cool day. The food is your normal pub grub with the bar and outdoor space inviting. There is a pool table. Nice motorbike ride and daytrip from Orange.

Avoid eating here. My wife was served sausages that were raw in the middle. She asked for a refund and was told she could not have one as she had cut into them. She explained she cut into to them to try and find one that was cooked. They offered to put them back on the grill.

I ordered a steak rare and was served a steak that was blue but more alarmingly was grey and not correctly seared on the exterior. The steak also had a cold crunch texture which suggests it had been frozen and not correctly defrosted.

When we were there on the Sunday there was a band playing.

Food has gone dooooown hill since the new owners. Frozen, tasteless, watery garbage. Hopefully the owners find some good chefs and keep the menu simple and locally sourced. Beautiful garden to relax in.

I've eaten here several times. Good points: it's a great community pub, staff always friendly and welcoming, worth dropping in for a drink.

Food? I have some issues. Quality is lower than it should be. My scotch fillet steak was gristly and small, overcooked on the outside, pink strip inside (order was for medium-rare). Tough. Probably quickly defrosted in the microwave before cooking. But, $38 for that steak and chips? Astonishing. I pay less in Sydney pubs. I've checked with a few people, this is not an isolated issue. Pub has recently changed hands, they are advertising for a chef. Improvements are expected. I'll report back.

Lovely pub to eat at. Great atmosphere and has one clever and entertaining doggie.

Difficult to get to via a shocking road, had high hopes for a nice country pub experience. First up don't bother with online bookings. We tried as did others and none were registered, so call in person if you want a table booking. Bees were so a big problem outside, so be prepared. Food was weirdly small in portion size for a country pub, and pretty average. Staff were friendly. Parking is a challenge and may required a short walk. Glad we went but will explore elsewhere in the area.

Great country hotel. Over looking the railway lines. Well worth a trip. Cabins and caravan parking for over night stays, Staff very friendly, large selection of beer and wine, food is priced well and very tasty. Highly recommend trying the home made pizza. Thanks for your hospitality and look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful little place. Good ambience. We stopped over for food on a snowy day. The food was served quickly and it was really tasty. Not too many vegetarian choices though. Friendly staff!

Great place to stop when you are on motorcycle ride or country drive. The beers was good but i can nit comment on food because the kitchen was under renovation.

Me and a mate decided on our ride Sunday to detour and check this pub out.
Although we hadn't booked we were welcomed in and given a seat.
The staff were amazing, food was great and the scenery beautiful.
I will definitely be back to experience this wonderful place again.
