The Austral, Adelaide SA

NEVER AGAIN! Food was disappointing in every way possible. The sirloin steak was hard and chewy, the burger was soggy and even came out with a bug on top and the bun was burnt on the inside. Chips tasted like stale chips that were re-fried. Even the lemon lime bitter was flat! Lights are so dim in here that it seems like they're intentionally doing it to make sure you don't see what's wrong with the food. Staff aren't helpful and clearly shouldn't be working in customer service when they walk around giving people dirty looks because we asked for a refund before anything was made due to the unpleasant customer service. I mean, it's great if you don't have any food or hygiene standards.

Went here during the fringe festival and the atmosphere was superb, the bar staff were quick to serve even though they were super busy.

Really enjoyable couple of hours spent here watching the world go by.

Mate who used to live here -well not AT the Austral, only most weekends and Thursday and Friday nights- she used to live and work in Adelaide... She said I have to come here for her sake and my own sake. She's a got chick, funny and sagacious, so here I am. Enjoying the wide range of Coopers in the heart of Adelaide. It's not chockers at the mo even tho its Friday 830pm 24.11.2023 but its good. Staff are good folk.

Visiting Adelaide for 24hrs.
Dropped in here for a drink. Sat outside on the main street which was nice; wine, people watching and good weather. Bar staff were friendly. There is a pool table and we were there on quiz night. The guy running it pulled us in along with three others. We all formed a table, just strangers having fun it was a good night. Found the hotel had a friendly nice vibe.

Great lunch catch up in the city.
Quick service and cold beer.
