Ate here a couple of times and the food has been great. For a reasonable price it shows the chef takes care of the meals. We have had the special Guinness pie. Egg plant Moussaka. And everything else has been good.

Entered the premises at 8:30pm today (Thu). Ordered lamb gyros with a small Greek salad and a Peroni beer (pictured). Total cost $51.

15 mins into my order, the girl who took my order comes to the table to "apologize" and advise that my meal will take 15-20 longer than usual because it was busy.... (no word of a delay before I put in the order).

A further 20 mins later the meal arrives (35 mins wait time). Another female staff delivered the meal and provided a quick throw-away apology for the delay (second apology).

The gyros was nothing special (just okay). Not big, not small, and so-so with respect to taste and freshness. There was a pungent smell as is typically the case with lamb not cooked to perfection... but I'll let that go as only the Greeks know how to cook lamb!

My final thoughts are that Sydney isn't really experiencing a tightening of the belt because it was a full house. Also, because the staff didn't seem willing to work for and keep my business.

Words are cheap... if you are genuinely sorry for being dishonest with me in not telling me about the wait, then offer me a complimentary beer!

I will not be coming here again. I don't appreciate being served two hollow apologies on top of a sub standard meal (not cheap either).

I don't often frequent pub restaurants so was quietly hesitant when asked to meet at the Belvedere for lunch. After entering the bar on the ground floor, a quick elevator ride to the second floor brought us to a cosy restaurant with a balcony drinks area. The menu is distinctively Greek inspired, with popular dishes like souvlaki, moussaka and lamb gyros, as well as a selection of more typical western dishes. My fish of the day was a tasty, well seasoned crispy salmon fillet with roasted sweet potato and side salad, prepared to perfection and highly recommended if you are a fan of fish. The atmosphere was casual and warm, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Belvedere restaurant on Kent St in the city is a pleasant lunch time retreat, away from the plethora of fast food and take away places in the vicinity of Town Hall station. However, expect to pay premium prices for the privilege.

Frequenting this pub has become a cherished tradition for me, as I am particularly fond of the Greek-influenced cuisine it offers. The lamb gyros and pies are absolute delights, showcasing the rich flavors and culinary expertise of Greece in every bite. Amidst the scorching heat of the day, I find solace in the fact that the second level of the pub is equipped with air conditioning, providing a welcome respite from the sweltering temperatures.

On the downside, I must admit that the beer selection leaves something to be desired, with limited options available. However, despite this minor drawback, my overall experience at this pub remains overwhelmingly positive. The delicious food, comfortable ambiance, and cooling atmosphere on the upper level all contribute to my continued satisfaction with each visit.

24th January - dinner here was fantastic. We were aware we heading to a pub for dinner but did not realise the cuisine was Greek based. Extremely happy as that is one of the wife's favourite cuisines. We went upstairs to the Terrace and enjoyed a delicious meal and bottle of wine. In particular the Ouzo infused Watermelon Salad - WOW. The staff were very helpful and polite and when made aware we had tickets to a show, they made sure the food was served in good time. Many layers of this location and interesting to check out the decor and the revealing of the history of this place. Thoroughly enjoyed.
