We recently held a family function at the Clayton Hotel. The function room was a beautiful space on the second floor of the complex with a full bar, AV equipment and a balcony overlooking the shopping strip.

Michaela, the Clayton Hotel's events planning manager made organising the function a breeze and even coordinated a special food order for us. Special traditional event requirements were no problem.

The service our guests received from waiting and bar staff was professional and efficient. The event was a total success.

Could not recommend The Clayton Hotel more to host your next event ! Everything from the coordinators / staff / venue / food / service was absolutely perfect & exceeded expectations. The staff were beyond accommodating and addressed every need to ensure my event was seamless and stress free ! My guests still can't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how incredible the food tasted ! $20 steak night on Wednesdays - great price so decided to give it a go.

The steak was a bit too chewy for medium rare and the portions of chips/salad were quite small. The price was still okay for the value, but I would've rather paid a few extra dollars and had better steak/more sides.

The customer service was a bit out of the ordinary, we couldn't order from our table and we had to get up and go to the counter and pay before we received our food. Didn't expect it as most other bistros/pubs let you eat then pay.

Came here with my group of friends to watch the footy. We normally go to Forest Hill, decide to give this place a go because it's next to my work.

Customer service from Leanne was amazing.
Atmosphere was great for Friday night , no long wait time for food to arrive compared to other places.

I recently had my husbands 30th in the function room upstairs and the event was fantastic. Food is amazing, service is great and the venue was set up perfectly. They even organised this set up for us?

Not much to shout about. Reasonable food to sort your cravings.

APPETISER
1. Calamari is tender and was good. Extra slice of lemon would had been perfect. Overall a 4.3/5.0

2. Roast Pork. Crispy skin and balanced flavour. Paired with the sauce and grapefruit was a good combination. Overall 4.0/5.0

MAINS
1. Beef Steak was a little over done and was little dry. Vegetables was just blanched therefore not much flavour and no condiments to pair with. Overall a 3.0/5.0

2. Barramundi with Truffle Sauce. Love the Truffle sauce. it wasn't overpowering. The sauce is compatible with the fish also the mash. Overall a 3.8/5.0

It was a wedding dinner, not sure about the price. Do not quote me on that.

Love coming to the Clayton Hotel. The staff are amazing especially Leanne. She remembers you even if it's a year between visiting! Nothing is too much for the staff, the customer service is next level, they are friendly and you can tell they all like working there. The food is delicious and the owners wife and mum make delicious cakes. It has a really great atmosphere like you are visiting family. Highly recommend! Leave time for parking as for any location in a built up area.

Two of us came to The Clayton Hotel in Clayton for dinner on a Friday night. We both ordered Chicken Parma's and they were very delicious. A big shoutout to the Clayton Hotel worker, Leanne, who was absolutely brilliant. She was hustling and working hard to make sure every single patron in the restaurant was comfortable, fed, watered, and happy. She was so smiley and positive and made us feel so welcome. 5/5 stars for her amazing service. Thank you!

Stood waiting to be seated while waiter was wondering around looking for something to do. Eventually seated by someone else. Order at the bar or with QR code. Service at table was awkward almost clumsy by the male waiter. Food was delicious. Would recommend the fish and chips or the burger. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. The atmosphere is very bistro, the pokies are just there in the next room and there were a number of noisy children running around. Overall the food got them over the line and I would recommend if you want a good reasonably price pub feed. Parking is a little difficult may have to walk a bit.

A little gem in the heart of Clayton. First time going there today for a meeting. Delightful surprise with the ambiance, food and service. I had the angus beef burger with chips. Food came promptly. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I recently hired the function room for a surprise 60th birthday lunch for my mum. Dinushi was wonderful to work with and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day.
Food was good and staff were very attentive.

The restaurant's happy hour from 4-6pm offers cheap beer and incredibly delicious onion rings. Highly recommended for those seeking affordable drinks and appetizing snacks.

I remember when this place was called L'Unico and it was underwhelming in all aspects. Fast forward several years and it's successor has made big improvements. We had a large group and everyone was happy with the meals and attention from the wait staff. The decor is brighter and the vibe is way more upbeat. On a road where some excellent dumpling restaurants could distract you, this is worth your while for pub food.

The staff here at Clayton Hotel is very helpful and there is always a smile on all staff faces. And they welcome everyone

This place is great! We love coming here for coffee. Meals look fantastic and delicious but never have tried one. The tiramisu in a little glass is amazing. All the staff are very talkative and friendly

Nice place for happy hour, the atmosphere is so nice. Really friendly staff. The food is fantastic, especially the chef's special of the day.

We just went to Clayton Hotel for a casual meal and it did not disappoint! The service was absolutely brilliant. Leanne was super attentive, friendly, and so lovely with our kids. The food portions are great and the price is reasonable. We ordered the kid's cheeseburger, which made my jaw drop when it arrived to the table! For $12 it had a thick wagyu patty, in brioche bun. And the chips....drool. Comes with ice cream and soft drink which is excellent value. Our daughter was thrilled! Leanne and Mel were so kind and offered some ice cream to our son (didn't order a kids meal) so he didn't feel left out. Made his day! The linguine with prawns was delicious as were the calamari main and porterhouse steak. We're leaving with full bellies, and returning again in the future for sure.

?The dinner meal is very wonderful and the service here must be 5-star service, especially Mrs. Leannne?, I strongly suggest this restaurant. Quite nice.

Very friendly and professional service. My flathead fillets were delicious. The barely there crisp batter over succulent tender fillets. Large chips, tartare sauce and tasty salad accompaniment.

The venue was fabulous.. food was excellent and the drinks really good as well..they catered to all our food needs and allergies .. i will definitely recommend this place to anyone and will come dine in as well in the future ..

Was in the area catching up with a mate to pick-up some stuff and he suggested we go to the Clayton Hotel for a Parma. Excellent parma and chips and the salad was good too. Took a little longer than expected for the meal to come out but it was well worth it. Best parma I have had in years. Highly recommended. Cleaned up the entire plate!

They have brought back a couple of important menu items in steak sandwiches and pasta ragu. Which are probably the nicest things on the menu. Is quiet enough to walk in and get a table but busy enough for a good atmosphere. They have a semi outdoor area and a fully enclosed outdoor area for drinks and foods and all these services are kept separately from the gaming/horse gambling areas. The food is surprisingly good for pub grub. Staff are friendly and helpful for all the different kinds of patrons. Only drawback is one waitress who brings a particular kind of nervous energy but otherwise great for quick, good quality feed.

Food was great, but even better was the service. Of particular note was one of the service staff promptly updating me on the status of my food after noting me looking slightly impatient - and I hadn't even asked. This event was a highlight of my evening, and has definitely won my loyalty.

After renovation, the food taste changed! The best food you can find seriously you will be surprised because of food! And all variety of drinks.. this is the best in clayton. Seems like not many people know about this great food place!!!!!

The Team were really lovely.
There wasn't really parking and our table wasn't ready but that didn't really bother us.
The food took a long while but was nice and hot.
The sweet potato fries are absolutely AMAZING and a must have.
Our actual meals weren't very good. We had the beef burger and a parma. They were pretty below average.

Finally stopped in for dinner after having driven past so often.

Nice set up, cosy but not so close to other tables that you feel crowded in.
Food was delicious. The salmon was juicy with a perfectly crispy skin and the southern chicken burger was fantastic, very spicy.
Good sized portions focussing on quality.

I went there on a weekday at 5pm and asked if the happy hour was still on and the lady at the bar said that they weren't doing happy hour even if it's stated outside happy hour was on from 4pm to 6pm every weekday.
Despite that, me and my mate decided to have a couple of beers anyway, the place is nice and beers selection is good. The staff is alright
I might come back to try the kitchen as well since I am living in the area.

At least for Clayton lunch, I always find my way to The Clayton Hotel. Not only do they serve great food, but they also treat you like a VIP. They have the same level of respect and service to frequent visitors like me as well as those who visited them for the first time. That's hospitality at its finest. That makes my lunches at Clayton Hotel even more special and memorable. I highly recommend them!

The best place to eat in Clayton. Have been a regular customer of them since i moved to Melbourne. Best food in town. The staff is friendly and warm and ambience is positive, it feels like home. The food is delicious and the portion is good. No faults at all. Highly recommend this place.
