Good value pub food, classic inner Melbourne pub.

I've been here many times over the years and it's always good. The fitout if instantly how you would an inner Melbourne to be, lots ok spaces, heaps of memorabilia on the walls and a healthy mix of students and locals.

The food is ok, noting spectacular but for the price a good deal. They have food promos most night, we happened to be there for the burger night. I had the beef burger and would get it again.

Would I recommend this place, yes. Give it a look in next time you're in the area.

The place looks a bit dated and has a typical old pub look and feel. Good for quick work lunches or after work beers. The food and service was great. The place has good vegetarian options. Tried the pan fried Gnocchi. It was delicious and the portion size was good.

I ordered the standard chicken parmigiana and a pot of goat cider for $26.70 on a Tuesday. The venue runs offers for chicken parmigiana according to a Good Food guide on The Age. The parmigiana was super crispy with a moist, juicy chicken. The chips were thick, not like the skinny ones you get at McDonald's. Overall, the food was delicious and I will certainly come back.

? Normalise pubs/restaurants having half parmas on the menu!!! ?

Clyde Hotel is a great spot that's kinda shaped in a rectangle with dining/sitting spaces all around a centred bar. There is an outdoor area and another space that's undercover. Plenty of seating to enjoy a drink and their delicious menu. I really appreciated the half parma option as it helps reduce food wastage when you're not that hungry. Food comes out quick and the jalapeños on the nachos were nice and spicy ??'??

Would go back again!

Great place I come to on Sundays for a drink and bowl of wedges. The games always on and it's a great place to past some time or have a meal

Steak lunch special on a Wednesday. Steak was just ok. Asked for medium rare (though more medium when it came out). Was dry and very bland, even with the pepper sauce over it. Chips were ok. Would have been nice if the dressing was tossed through the salad as well, rather than just poured on top

I have been to this pub a few times and always have had great service. I don't remember his name but the tall pale bartender with greasy hair always takes good care of me and all other patrons. Lots of Great memories at this pub

I like the Clyde as an unpretentious good Australian pub. But, please consider not selling food that involves killing babies! Baby anything! Yes even "lamb". Moreover, the more we learn of octopus the more we are impressed by their intelligence and sentience... babies included. A fair go for other species. Thank you!

The Clyde is next to my work and I sometimes have my lunch here. I enjoy the atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful, they're also discreet, they don't bother you, which I appreciate as I like to read or use my tablet whilst I'm eating. I recommend The Clyde if you're in Carlton, the food is very good, too.

The place was nice and cozy. Some old-fashioned decorations on the walls. Drinks & food were good as well. We got pan fried fish and beer battered fish fillet. Both were tasty. We had Guinness and that one was also pleasant

I ordered a mushroom burger and a garlic bread. The garlic bread was spot on but the burger needed a bit of dressing, not just beetroot spread

the clyde used to be my favourite pub and so close to everything with reasonable atmosphere no wonder. however lately there have been staff or management changes that have really made it go downhill. Went there for a regular wednesday night steak and ordered extra sauce which didn't come with the order. The wait staff were nice about it and brought extra when came with i thought was as a result of the mix up. then a guy comes to the table and charges us for both lots of sauce because "it's $1.5". When it is the wait staff's error usually it's a good idea to comp the 3 dollars and not charge for stuff they didn't order and didn't get on time. The Clyde, i would reconsider your staff and attitude.

Highly recommend this wonderful pub just off Lygon Street in the heart of Carlton. Nina & crew were so lovely & friendly. It's a large but very welcoming & clean venue with lots of space inside, beer gardens & also a roof top garden. Lots of food choices on the menu & drinks are very reasonably priced. A really great place to meet friends & enjoy the return of normal life.

The Clyde is a great local pub. It has something for everyone. From the front bar or dining room to the rooftop or beer garden. Highly recommend checking it out when nearby. The food is always great, especially the parma. The staff are also always super friendly and up for a chat.

An incredible pub just seconds away from the University of Melbourne. I've been to the Clyde on a number of occasions and have always felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They do a great job at accommodating for a number of different crowds, from college students to Carlton locals. Very reasonable prices and there are often deals on some very good quality pub food. I've only ever had minimal issues here, and it is a venue that really respects your patronage. The rooftop also has a wonderful ambience if you go at the right time.

First time i've seen a place where it's cheaper to buy pints than a Jug, but overall a decent place to come to for drinks. Recommend the rooftop, very spacious. With covid your ordering on an app, so the staff will deliver anything to your table and save you a trip down the stairs.

The chicken parm is ok, a good option for a meal with your drinks, but i wouldn't come here specifically for it.

Some of the crew that accompanied us to The Clyde told of tales of their time at Uni coming here and having memorable nights. Tonight ours was no exception. As a group of work colleagues, we came here for a post-training dinner and frankly, it was the ideal spot.
Firstly, our table has this clever sign on it - where although table was reserved for 6.30pm, patrons are invited to use it until then. Clever.
Menu was extensive and there is something for everyone including anyone with special dietary requirements. Vegetarians particularly have a good range to choose from.
We ordered our meals and most people chose the variations of parmigiana. I had two entrees of Gyoza and a large serve of zucchini and eggplant chips. Everyone raved about their food and certainly the portion sizes were generous.
But what really stood out for us was Matt, an employee who went above and beyond to accommodate one of us who had allergies and the meal she ordered was mixed up. His apologies, preparing a new meal, shouted her a beer for the inconvenience and overall attentiveness is rare these days but certainly didn't go unnoticed by 14 of us. Everyone looked to me as a professional reviewer and nodded their approval.
The Clyde has a few spaces where you can meet up that are separate from each other - whether it's the main bar, the cute beer garden where we'd sat the night before for a quick coldie, the dining areas or even the roof top garden. The walls are covered in memorabilia, there are a few tv screens televising sport or other events.
Staff are exceptional even when 'under the pump' at peak hour.
Decor is interesting with fun 'day of the dead' artwork on the toilet doors. But it is pre Christmas so lots of decorations.
Notes: wheelchair friendly, disabled accessible, kid friendly, high chairs available, parking is reasonable in and around the area.
