Went for dinner.

Arrived at 7:10pm for dinner, place was pumping. I'd eaten there during the week, cheeseburger was great so thought we'd go for "date night"

What a disappointment. Ordered some starters straight up with drinks because it was so busy and we were hungry. Specifically said "we'll start with that while we decide on the mains"

Ordered mains 15-20 minutes later.... 20 minutes after that everything arrives. 5 dishes for a table of 2. My partner went in to say we need a minute before the mains and was told by the redhead that it was our fault because we didn't "specify" mains were for mains? despite the fact we had. My partner came back to the table upset so I went in... apparently better results when you're a man complaining. The red head continued to visibly roll her eyes as I said it wasn't good enough at $80-100 per head to either rush us or make us eat cold mains.... honestly be a professional and slag me off in the back of house rather than let me see it.

Waited another 36 minutes from finishing the entre and main being served... and I'll honestly say it was lifeless under seasoned garbage. The pork was average needed salt... the schnitzel was like a kids meal at a normal place with a salad on the side.

Left at 905pm and stopped at iga to get food...

Comparing it to the other times I've eaten there it really felt like they gave us a garbage serve because we complained...

It's a real shame too because the beer selection is decent. Bartender has been great but I get one day off a week for a night out and the whole experience was tainted.

To be fair plenty of places to drink and eat in North Melbourne I won't be in a hurry to go back.

We dined at The Courthouse on a Saturday evening and were thoroughly impressed. The service was prompt and the staff were well-informed about the menu, which added to the experience. Both the fish of the day and the chicken schnitzel were absolutely delicious, showcasing a high standard of fare.

The decor was cosy and intimate, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It felt like a very refined pub experience, blending the charm of a traditional pub with a touch of sophistication. Definitely a spot we'd recommend for a relaxed yet elevated dining experience in North Melbourne.

The food here is amazing, I've eaten here many times and the food is always consistently good. The coffee and beer is also super good as well with the service and everything about the place. It is a bit pricy but that's alright so is everywhere nowadays

So good to see this space post renovations.

Love the upstairs dining area. The menu has some great gluten free options, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Barramundi.

Great wine options, and their Claret was a surprise pick!

I have to stay a HUGE thank you to Lauren, who looked after our table on a busy Saturday night. She was super kind, intuitive, and played a vital role in our 5/5 experience.

Sensational food and atmosphere in a beautiful wide street with middle grass strip where people were sun baking and reading. It is all set amongst the historic North Melbourne architecture, no high rises and relaxed in an old-fashioned Aussie way. The pub is warm and the renovation sympathetic to its era. The stuffed zucchini flowers are to die for and the chicken Parma was the best we've ever had. Shout out to Dave, the chef on Saturday night. Service is impeccable - on a different day I dropped in for a wine and my dog was welcomed with a bowl of water and some cuddles. A go to.
