If you've never been here before, make a date next time you're in town. Atmosphere in this 'old timer' is great. The beer garden is small, but inviting and the front bar, with dimly lit lighting and candle lights on the tables really do set a chilled out mood, making you want to stay just that little bit longer. Intimate dining areas are beautifully set out and you can 'choose your own adventure,' be it Intimate dining, font bar, beer garden, etc.
The staff here are wonderful and keen mixologists ready to help you with your next libation or recommend food from their unpretentious, but not too 'pub' menu.
A recent app upgrade gives some fantastic discounts and it's really worth downloading - do it now before you forget.
Meals are great quality and we settled for a few plates from the share and sides menu; chicken sausage rolls, duck fat and rosemary potatoes, baked camembert, and sauteed bacon and cabbage.
The chicken sausage rolls were an absolute standout, and went surprisingly well with our cocktails.

The Crown and Sceptre - a culinary sanctuary fit for the discerning palate! Picture this: amidst the company of three companions, we indulged in an array of appetizers, four sumptuous meals, and several libations, each dish a testament to culinary excellence. Not a single morsel failed to impress, leaving us thoroughly enchanted.

The staff, akin to courteous muses guiding our gastronomic journey, were not only friendly but extraordinarily helpful, ensuring our experience was nothing short of sublime. It is with great anticipation that I eagerly await my next visit to Adelaide, where I shall undoubtedly return to this delightful establishment.

And oh, the steak! A magnificent plate, larger than both my hands combined, a true marvel of culinary proportions. Though the photo may not capture its grandeur, its presence on the table spoke volumes of the Crown and Sceptre's commitment to culinary mastery. A venue truly deserving of recommendation to all who appreciate refined dining in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The food was not as expected.
Steak was undercooked (asked for medium well) however it was very pink and chewy.
The mixgrilled was quite bland.

Booked on a Saturday night not realising Saturdays in Adelaide CBD are dead and walk ins are fine. The food was perfect. Great range of gluten free foods and the service was fast. Fire place in the dining area kept it warm and the bar staff are hilarious. Stuck around a little longer because the DJ had a great eclectic selection of tunes playing. Worth the pop in if you're in the area.

It's absolutely amazing. Between the four of us, we had 3 appetisers, 4 meals, and several drinks and not one thing disappointed. Would recommend Crown and Sceptre to everyone!
The staff are friendly and super helpful, an amazing experience. Will come again next time in Adelaide.
