Sorry for the 1 star review, Went last night to wing night, servers were very nice, food came relatively fast and the music was on point. Unfortunately, although they were delicious, everyone in my party had bad food poisoning after eating the wings. Resulted in an unpleasant end to an otherwise lovely night

Edit - Yes, for all of my party only a few hours after dining in those who ate the wings all were sick in the stomach, no, none of my party went to the doctors for food poisoning.

Cool bar and friendly staff. They have good happy hour deals and the chicken from Sonnys next door is great which you can order to the bar.

The bouncers were nice, the bar staff were polite, attentive and chill. The fried chicken was the best I've ever had in Melbourne and the music and atmosphere is great. I think I'm in love

If you wanna feel like you're at a classic Australian pub, more recently catering towards students than workers, this is it. Plenty of seating, excellent vibe, friendly staff, toilets are always clean and burgers are GREAT. Upstairs is a band room that hosts smaller gigs - great place to find the next up and comer! Great weeknight specials too. Monday night $15 schnittys!

Unique rustic old school pub feels. Don't mind the smell of dried beer. Ate at sonny's, had the avo burger, cauliflower chips and beer on tap. Worth a try.

Rustic indie rock bar with full live bands. It should be twinned with the Black Heart in Camden and The Fighting Cocks in Kingston for decor and atmosphere. I was lucky enough to get the happy hour two pint special which saved me a bomb.

Renamed 50 years ago after the 1940s Prime Minister; this 160yo pub is a working class icon and a welcoming Lygon St sanctuary on a lazy Saturday afternoon 🍻ðŸ'Ε’ ... The only downside is the relatively basic deep fried chicken food options - I reckon it needs to have a creative (Cornish-Arms-like) rethink of it's food menu
THE CURTIN (John Curtin Hotel) is open Monday and Tuesday from noon to 11:30 PM. They are also open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to midnight. On Friday they're open from noon until 2 AM the following morning. On Saturday they operate from 1 PM until 2 AM the following morning. On Sunday they operate from 1 PM to 11 PM.
