The Duck Inn Pub and Kitchen for us was a hidden gem. We were scouring google one rainy Friday night in search of a steak and also somewhere dog friendly and stumbled across this.
In the back streets of Chippendale, this place looks like your typical heritage pub and inside reminds us of an English one, compete with high benches and leather couches. There's also outdoor section at the rear of the pub that can certainly host a crowd. It felt warm inside with its atmosphere and a good crowd of an older demographic. We also love that the pub is dog friendly, in fact a well behaved dog even sat on a couch. It would be great to be able to purchase doggie snacks.
Their seasonal menu has great food.
We had a nicely cooked steak with veggies as well as one of their poke salads. We did find the food was quite slow to come out, however.
As we saw other food passing by, we were impressed by some of the other options like their Prawn linguine, crispy pork and pan fried salmon and keen to try those.
It is a pub so it's hardly surprising that there is a great selection of craft beers and beers on tap including tasting paddles which makes for a great way to try a range of varieties. Plenty of wine one and spirits too.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience here.
