Not like any other pub, food is amazing every time we eat here we are never dissatisfied. Staff are awesome and the atmosphere is always great.

The Greendale is all about atmosphere. If you wanna feel like you're sharing a drink with other humans who've also had a week, this is the place to be. Lots of good food, warmth and cheer. Not brilliant beers in tap, although the option of Melbourne Bitter is a saving grace. I go for the cans of Guinness from the fridge, so no complaints. Pizza is great. So is everything else from what I've seen. Cosy fires etc. Love it.

My wife set out for an afternoon drive on a Friday afternoon and arrived at this delightful pub. We both enjoyed our light meals with wines that were on offer. We chose from the light meal menu and I selected the steak. So tasty with a great choice of sauces and sides. But the standout for me was the dessert I had. The dumplings are soooo delicious. I am so keen to return here again to have them again. Nice place to visit, very clean and staff are friendly and approachable.

Food was fantastic. Atmosphere was authentic Australian bush pub.

Booked for lunch yesterday. Clearly the place was overbooked as seemed the kitchen could not cope. Meals were coming out to tables one meal at a time. We waited an hour and when the food finally arrived it was substandard with cold overcooked chips and salad that did not resemble greek salad as ordered and steak was sinewy. My scalloped potato was lukewarm and oily. We have been to the Greendale a few times before and it was good but this visit was very disappointing. People were packed in like sardines so the noise level was deafening. Service? There was none. Maybe they have changed chefs but it was not good. Never again on a Sunday

Great prices. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. I ordered lasagne with scallop potatoes and Greek salads and it was really REALLY good. The place was really busy (a good sign!) and there were cars everywhere.

I really appreciated that the staff were able to warn us on a delay to meals due to how busy they were. We were also able to relax infront of the fire and enjoy live music.

Overall a great atmosphere coupled with exceptional food. Looking forward to going back and trying other menu items. If you want a fabulous Sunday session. This is the place to go!

Had dinner there last night the pizza and chicken tenders were burnt and the other pizza overcooked so disappointed ? Also I had to squeeze between men sitting and standing all around the bar area staring not moving to allow you to order a drinks Would be nice if they had a section where you could purchase drinks without having to ask someone to move .The atmosphere was good and a lovely pub but sadly I wont go back .

We absolutely love this place. The people and the feel of the place are amazing. We will be making this a regular place to visit and enjoy.

Lovely little pub for lunch. Plenty of outside and inside space. Beautiful setting. Staff very friendly. Can be quite busy especially for dinner time. Food was good.

Great old school pub where you can enjoy generous meals, a drink at the bar or even sit outside and soak up the sun whilst doing both. I miss these pubs that are now extinct in many suburbs.

Sensational scotch fillet, perfectly cooked and presented. Salad not dripping with dressing, chips crisp and delicious. Will be back.

Lovely space, open fires, responsive service, inedible pizza. I went here after walking with a friend and it was the only place serving hot food after 2pm lunch hour. They only serve pizza at that time, which is understandable. I don't know about the rest of the menu, however the pizzas were the worst that I've had, one was covered in a syrupy sweet balsamic, with salty tzatziki sauce and feta and fatty tasting lamb - an unexpected combination and one which was inedible for us.

The other pizza had fatty tasting ham and waaaay too much of it, and cheese with no flavour other than 'salt'. It would be so much better with higher quality ingredients in smaller quantity; the amount of topping is not value, particularly if it tastes so bad you don't want to eat it. Outside usual pub meal times, we'd have been much more satisfied with hot chips, which would be easier and tastier. Maybe other more traditional pub fare on their menu at regular meal times is better? What I do know is that I definitely do not recommend any pizza here.

Awesome Aussie pub with normal country people.
Meals were exceptional and great value! Lady vocalist with guitar was also pleasant.
Will be back next time we are cruising through.

Food was brilliant. Staff are friendly. What wasn't great was waiting for about 70 minutes for our food to arrive (where tables who ordered after were served first) and while three young girls (4-6 y/o) cleaned tables around us.

It appears the new owners need to learn their craft. Would eat there again, but if forgotten again it'll be the last.

For perspective. Arrived at 6.30pm. Ordered at 6.45pm. Food arrived haphazardly from 7.55pm.

Food was excellent, and good sized servings. Very nice atmosphere in the dining area. Quite a rustic pub!

Great friendly warm atmosphere. Open fireplace was a treat. Delicious dinner. Kid friendly space (in the bistro area) and great kids menu catering even to the super young food mashers.

A lovely little country pub with great food and prompt service.

My wife and I ordered the Chicken and Beef Parmas with veg/ chips and veg/scalloped potatoes.

The parmas were delicious with a super crispy crumb, the veg well cooked and lovely thick chips.

The scalloped potatoes were yummy and *ultra* cheesy, I'd recommend pairing it with a schnitzel instead of parma, there's enough cheese on the potatoes to cover it all!

We will definitely be coming back!

Nice atmosphere, very calm though could have some background music. No table service - have to go up and order but based on the price point I think this is reasonable. The Parma was beautiful and great size for the cost.

A little out of the way country pub. Great atmosphere and OMG the Potato pizza with chicken and bacon is to die for. Best pizza I have ever had since moving to Melbourne 4 years ago. Was starting to think I was never going to find a good pizza here, let alone a great one.
Busy pub on a Sunday night filled with family's. A must visit if your driving by, you won't regret it.

Robin and Peter. I was impressed with the friendly hospitality., service and loved the food I ordered, prawns, garlic sauce and rice. I complemented the chef as did Paddy and Colin.

Nice lil spot to stop for a beer. Good food , the parmy selection is incredible and tastes great. They lose a star for waiting an hour for my parmy and another for taking our garlic bread away from the table with two full pieces left without asking. Would i go back ? Yes i would go there planning to have a few while i wait for food and likely not with hungry toddlers.

Came for lunch, and had the southern fried burger special. Yummo!! Fabulous country pub off the beaten track, with a cute beer garden and live music set up. Can just picture it when in full swing. Beautiful country drive/ride to get here especially coming from Trentham. Will definitely be back again and really looking forward to it

Friendly, unassuming country pub. Huge portion sizes on a parma and some of the best chips I've ever had. Add in a cold beer and what more could you possibly need?

I REALLY enjoy coming here, good food, good people and great atmosphere.

A charming country pub with a very welcoming feel. We were treated very kindly by the owner who took the time to show us around, explaining the pub's history as we went. We enjoyed a refreshing cold beer, while taking in the mouth watering aromas of wood fired pizzas cooking in the kitchen. A lovely ambience, with many cheerful locals sharing grand old yarns. Will certainly be back.

Such a chilled out pub... if you are visiting Greendale, do stop by for a beer or some food. You won't be disappointed with the rustic good vibes!! And it's a pretty big space with indoor and outdoor seating. If you're lucky you will spot a fleet of vintage cars and some mean machine bikes

Congratulations to the team at the Greendale Pub. Second week in a row for a Saturday night meal for us. First week, 5 of us enjoyed fantastic food with a comprehensive yummy menu. Second week booked in a group of 27 people which grew to 32 people. The pub was so accommodating to our needs.
Order taking quick with our meals arriving in a timely manner.

Great little pub. Only ever had a beer there. Finally stopped in for a meal on the way home from camping. Took a while but it was a busy Sunday afternoon. Meals were great ??'?
