My review is unusual as I was not a guest. My partner was a guest there and was boarding a cruise on 12/02.Being so close to Valentine's Day I wanted to surprise him with a gift on shore. I wrote to the hotel and was amazed at their optimistic response, there was no hesitation. Their excellence, effort & positivity from incredible Maxine & her team helped achieve the impossible within 24hrs.They are a busy hotel but yet they pulled out all the stops to make this happen. Also, kindly giving me the website of a local florist to contact, so useful, being that I live in spain. A delighted partner received his surprise hand delivered to his hotel room. It restored all my faith that such quality service still exists. Thank you Maxine so very much.

I have travelled the world and stayed in all types of accommodation. This was the dearest by far. No lifts. 2 floors up. To have a drink was 1 floor below. Breakfast was odd. No bacon. The staff were helpful and accommodating, but it really was not worth the money, especially when you factor another $50.00 for parking, in the most inaccessible parking venue I have ever used. I could have better spent the $700.00 for one night elsewhere.

We arrived early from New Zealand (8:00 am) and our room was not ready. Of course, we didn't expect it to be. Josh and his team let us leave our 5 bags and 4 backpacks securely in the hotel while we ventured around Sydney for the day. They said they would call when the rooms were ready but nobody did, which was fine as we were busy exploring. We got back to the hotel around 3:00 p.m. and both rooms were ready; a double twin for our sons, which was very spacious, and to our surprise, the penthouse suite for my wife and I. This was an upgrade! We never expected such treatment and certainly didn't do anything to deserve it. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful and kind, from Josh (manager I assume) to Wendy (maid services) and everyone else I wish I could remember the name of, they all did remarkably well at making us feel very special. My wife really didn't want to leave. But alas we had to the next day. They kindly arranged a van for our transport to the airport, which was a nice change from a cramped Uber.
Only issue would be there is no elevator for people. There is a lift for luggage for the second and third floors which is not a problem. They will also porter your bags to your room.
Thanks so much Harbour Rocks. We will be back...maybe for New Years Eve next time, and definitely in the penthouse!

Lovely quaint hotel. Perfectly positioned to experience the Rocks area and Circular Quay. Service was so welcoming as soon as you stepped foot into the establishment. Feels as though you are entering a library without the feeling of having to be quiet. Rooms are clean and comfortable with an old day feel. Can be quite noisy with the unique alleyways presented behind, but I liked the vibe indeed. It was quite expensive for a standard room, $575/night, but the location makes it worthwhile. Plenty of eateries surrounding and morning coffee only footsteps away. 24-hour convenience store across road, which is also handy. I'd be back for sure.

Harbour Rocks is a lovely hotel with an enjoyable atmosphere. Services provided were excellent, with very friendly, helpful staff. The location is perfect, with many shops , a street market, and restaurants close by. Access is close and easy for The Big Bus Hop-on-hop-off, harbor tours, and cruise ship port. Great views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are just a block away. We could see the top of the Opera House from our room! A walk down George Street provides all the shopping anyone could ever want. Our stay in Sydney was highly enhanced by the location of Harbour Rocks Hotel.

Excellent location but I struggle to see how this is a 5 star hotel. The service is a hit and miss, the rooms are old and falling apart. Having a high status with Accor also mean nothing to them.

We had an overnight stay in August.

The location was absolutely fabulous, emptying out onto the markets, the harbour and a myriad of places to eat and play.

The hotel had an air of history and the industrial flavour was evident in many places. It was cool, chic and cozy.

The room was comfortable and well appointed. Eh cotton bathrobes were very much appreciated.

The restaurant downstairs was exceptional, offering Middle Eastern options and a great range of beverages. The historic atmosphere continued there too.

The staff were abundantly helpful - nothing was a problem.

This was a boutique hotel in its very finest incarnation.

I would highly recommend staying here. The service is wonderful and staff go above and beyond. The room was cosy and had all I needed and more. Breakfast was scrumptiousdiddlyumptous plus Joshua, the manager was a real gem. I'll definitely be back in the near future ???'?

Tripadeal package. Excellent location. Easy walk to Circular Quay and Rocks markets within 100 meters. We were in a king superior room as a twin set up. Everything provided at a 5 star level. Tayim Restaurant attached as breakfast package, best thing about this hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel. After catching a train from the airport to Circular Quay, it was a short walk to the hotel. The location makes it easy to walk to many iconic Sydney landmarks and it is close to restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff were friendly and helpful. A brief but very enjoyable stay.

Wonderful little boutique hotel, ticks all the boxes, location ,charm of the building etc..The staff are wonderful ambassadors for the hotel, nothing was ever a problem, and if there was, staff handled everything with aplomb.
...One thing..note to the owners of the property... Though the room we had was a great space...however it was let down by the badly stained light coloured carpet, suggest replace or at least shampoo the carpet...Thankyou for an enjoyable stay we stayed 7 nights and would do so again.

The staff and location make this work.
Joshua at reception is simply fantastic!
His attention to detail of our needs and his suggestion to solve any issue and or request makes the place. It meant I can be confident of being looked after and I would be thinking of this reason to come back again.
Here's one of many examples of Joshua's extraordinary customer service. In haste, we'd left behind a large dragon fruit in the fridge, we'd called back a bit too late and housekeeping had disposed of the perishable goods as per hotel policy. Joshua on his own accord, got one from the kitchen and dropped it off at our next hotel at Four Seasons. This is the kind of customer service one would only find in Japan, but we have that here because of Joshua.
Joshua, you rock at Harbour Rock.
Thank you.

Would honestly give higher than 5 out of 5!

We went to another bar in the rocks, where we felt rushed and decided to leave after 1 drink! We wandered through some of the lanes to this absolute gem outside the back of Tayim - there was a couple fires, big pillows & chairs set up with the most talented Spanish singer!

We sat and sipped on some drinks in front of the fire whilst we were serenaded by Maxi, who sang beautifully. We had two wraps, some drinks, dips & chippies. All I recommend. I found them reasonably priced, a little spicy though so buyer beware ;) will absolutely be back as I think this is the perfect spot to spend winter night after work

Absolutely first rate. I always stay in Sofitel or MGallery hotels all over the world and this one is really special. I stayed in a suite and it is so cozy, the cute little library area with comfy sofas and a little bar. Such friendly people and the restaurant is just lovely, great Middle Eastern food and a fantastic breakfast. No buffet here, everything for breakfast is cooked from a menu, and your cappuccino and latte are made fresh and fresh pressed juices. How the building is styled and shows the beauty of such a historic building too, I just am totally in love, from the amazing welcome, the great food, the cutest little bar and library and I cannot forget the gorgeous terrace to have a drink and listen to live music. I cannot wait to go back again, I am definitely going to be a regular fixture there.

The location, aesthetic and staff of the hotel are very impressive. There was however absolutely nothing to justify the $600 for a one night stay in a dismal brown room with stained carpet, no minibar and a sad offering of instant coffee and tea. It has all the character of a cheap coastal motel circa early 1980s. Disappointed to have wasted our anniversary night here when there were so many better options in the vicinity.

The location of this beautiful hotel is very convenient. Just a stone throw from Sydney harbour bridge and the iconic Opera House. The rooms are lovely and management is outstanding. Moss the Boss was first to greet us on our 9 day stay and was so hospitable and accommodating. He really made our visit warm and welcoming. I thourougly look forward to coming back. On top of that the tea and skin care products on offer are to die for.
We stayed here for 3 nights in this 5-star heritage building hotel over NYE. It was a great place to stay. Central location, walking distance to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and close to restaurants and cafes. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and tidy, quiet location, friendly helpful staff, daily room service, and there's nice Australian brand hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser supplied and it smells divine. The downside is no lift, although it's only a 2 story hotel, and there is a dumbwaiter for luggage, and staff are helpful with your bags as well. Parking is quite expensive and you'll need to pull up on the street outside the hotel to load your bags into the car, otherwise you'll have to cross the street with your bags to get to the hotel/public parking. Also, there is no balcony. Recommended if you want a convenient location in The Rocks.

What a beautiful friendly hotel. My brother had a room here and we walked over from the cruise terminal after our cruise and met him for breakfast. Most impressive hotel, small boutique, romantic, and a great location in the Rocks.

Great location close to Sydney Harbour, trains, ferries and a wonderful array of bars and restaurants (including Tayim Restaurant and Bar).
Well-presented, friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast is fantastic.
Super comfortable bed.

This is the Sydney experience you want.
After COVID this was the first chance West Australians have had to indulge in science and learning in nearly three long years. Rather than choose a BIG hotel, I picked this one nestled amongst the bars of the historic "Rocks" district.
Beautifully restored warehouse (with a temporary salubrious past) exposed bricks and beams meld with contemporary finishes and historical art work to make you feel part of Sydney history.
Step outside and you're in the heart of Sydney past, but at night in the beat of Sydney present. A créperie downstairs for delicious morning goodies that will deliver to your room.
At the end of the day, Moss the night manager will ensure your safety and comfort.
A truly lovely stay. Next time in Sydney I will definitely be staying here.

I stayed her for the second time this month (August 2022) The location of this hotel is perfect. Just steps away from great food and the markets. The service was amazing. Everyone on staff was very friendly and did their best to ensure that our stay was enjoyed.
The catch is that the rooms are old and need a major overhaul. The images on the hotels website are not accurate. Our room was a small grey box with minimal furniture, awful closet space and a loud aircon. The bathroom is dingy, not what you expect for $300 a night. Honestly, the bathroom grossed me out. I laid a bunch of towels on the floor because it just felt dirty (even though it was cleaned). The cracked tiles, mouldy grout, lack of shelf space and disgusting old toilet were really disappointing. My husband is not a germaphobe, but even he went out to the reception area and used the bathroom there (which was modern and updated like the website shows) I stayed here 10 years ago and had a totally different room that was similar to the images online and it was great. But if you get any of the rooms on level one along the front of the building, they seem like they are the bare minimum and dated. I was planning on booking here again with my family this coming November for my Mums 70th but have decided against it due to the poor bathroom conditions. These rooms shouldn't be more than $200 a night, yet they are advertising them as $300-$400 or more. I feel a little cheated to be honest. Like they falsely advertised the standards of the rooms on the first floor.
It really is a shame because, like I said, the staff are lovely. Looks like I need to find a new place to stay in Sydney.
Harbour rocks hotel indeed a luxury hotel and a hidden gem at the rocks. Had a wonderful stay for four nights. Rooms are comfy and tastefully decorated with a view of harbour. Love heritage building in the heart of rocks. Tayim is an exquisite place to have middle eastern cuisine at the centre of the rocks. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food with a pair of wine. Prices are affordable.

We had a lovely time. Room was large enough for the 4 of us. Nice staff. Very small gym for 4 people. Beautiful outdoor lounge. Attractive reception area with good lighting. Cute crepe shop adjoining hotel.

My husband and I chose Harbour Rocks Hotel for its location. We weren't disappointed and would definitely stay here again. A lovely cosy and friendly hotel right in the middle of the rocks. I can't write a review about this little gem without mentioning Moss the night manager from Calcutta who made us feel very welcome and at home during our stay. Thank you Moss and all of the team at Harbour rocks, you made our stay a comfortable and happy one, Jane & Jeremy

Magnificent place to stay in the heart of The Rocks district. Short walk to Circular Quay. Fabulous choice of places to eat and catch some live music. Markets galore and a host of bars to have a drink. Great service on this historic hotel. Highly recommend

Nice little boutique Hotel, cosy rooms easy check-in, has bar and little cafes as well.

- fantastic location (near the harbour, 24/7 convenience store out the front etc)
- the building's exterior is so beautiful and well maintained
- staff are very welcoming
- goodies provided!

- the interior (awkward room positioning, small bathroom, old furniture and very dusty - not the best for someone with dustmite allergy)
- outdated entertainment system/electronics

This was an amazing place to stay in. The staff were super friendly and genuinely cared. They also did charge the earth to care. They made our anniversary/birthday stay very warm, welcoming and enjoyable. It's a smaller hotel central to everywhere. Has a terrace area over looking the lane but the roof is not accessible unless you stay in the Penthouse. It's a short walk from Circular Que. surrounded by great restaurants and over the road is an Ezy Mart just across the road. Definitely worth staying at if you're looking for a great place in The Rocks.

Harbour rocks hotel is very nice. having a good time to stay and rest in the middle of the city.
1. check in @ the hotel - hotel staff was ver good to assist in your checking in with easy procedure.
2. stay in the hotel with the complimentary drinks and enjoy Shiraz red wine for my birthday.
3. as a healthworker, it feels good that Night Manager Moss was able to appreciate the hardwork for all healthcare workers in rendering care to their patients. I never expect that a former patient like Moss was able to recognize the hardwork of healthcare workers.
4. definitely will recommend this hotel especially staff like Moss the night manager will make your stay a memorable one!
