The Kilburn

I've been to The Kilburn a few times now, and it never disappoints! The atmosphere is always buzzing, especially on Tuesday nights when they host their weekly trivia in Hawthorn. It's a fantastic way to spend a Tuesday evening, with a fun and engaging trivia format that keeps you on your toes. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.

And let's talk about the cocktails - they are absolutely delicious! The bartenders really know their stuff and have some unique and tasty concoctions on the menu. If you're a cocktail enthusiast, you'll love the creative options here.

Hosted an event about 100ppl, Everyone was happy with the venue, got a lot good feedback on food, drinks and services. Definitely recommend this place! Great event place to hire.

The Kilburn is a must for all whisky lovers. Their collection of whiskys will absolutely blow you away. Awesome place for your palate to expand your whisky repertoire. In addition, they also do killer cocktails.

Service was very helpful and friendly.

I had a custom flight of whiskys (4 X 15mls) from my own selection. They were very flexible - I didn't have to stick to what was on the menu. What topped it off for me was that they even had droppers (to add water) for the whisky enthusiasts.

We recently had our wedding reception at the Kilburn and could not be happier. The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff (shoutout to Molly) so attentive to all our requirements. Honestly one of the best venue's out there and their flexibility to accept outside catering made our event that much more special and on theme. Thank you again to all the staff at the Kilburn on site and behind the scenes.

We had made a reservation though when we walked in, it clearly wasn't needed. There were 3 cosy booths and another area which could be used for a private event which were all occupied, so if you want those, I'd highly recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. The floors and tables were clean, nothing sticky. There was some melted wax stuck on my seat but otherwise seats were all clean too. While we were there, several individuals stopped and chatted for quite a while with the friendly bartender. There appears to be several regulars too.

Note that The Kilburn does not have its own kitchen but a partnership with the restaurants next door for the pizza and burgers.

The food was delicious though everything, and I do mean everything, was just a little bit over salted. This, of course, is not a bad thing for the bar. They were a little on the pricey side and I would personally rather my pizza be pre-cut. I was awkward cutting it on the plate and required running the cutter back and forth several times. Even then, the slices did not separate cleanly. I assume it was because the pizza base had gotten a little soggy by the time it got to us. The onion rings that came with the burger were probably the best we've ever had.

I'd say it's a nice place to catch up with friends you haven't seen for a long time... for an occasion that's a little bit special but feels a little more casual than a "fancy" place. Too expensive to be a regular haunt for me.
