Mercure Sydney

The hotel was perfectly placed for walking into the city and down to Darling Harbour. The room was clean and sufficient for our needs. We had breakfast one morning, which was excellent.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

My only gripe would be that the lifts take a long time to arrive when you call them.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Sydney to celebrate Lunar New Year. Location wise was close and walkable to Chinatown.

From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The staff member who assisted me was professional, friendly, and made me feel welcome, which set a positive tone for the stay. The room was exactly as pictured - clean, modern, and felt quite new. I was impressed by the overall standard of the room, and it met all of my expectations.

I had asked for two extra pillows and if they had firm ones available. I was pleased with how quickly they were delivered, and the pillows were firm and supportive, which made for a great night's sleep. The bathroom was also well-maintained, and the bed was very comfortable. One small thing I found unusual was the LED light in the room, as it didn't seem to match the overall vibe of the room, but that's a minor observation.

During my stay, I also had the opportunity to use the pool and sauna. The pool area, while a good size, could benefit from some refurbishment. The indoor, elevated setting is a unique feature, but the overall condition of the space seemed a bit dated, which affected the experience. I believe an update to this area could really enhance the guest experience.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would definitely consider staying again in the future. Thank you again for your attention and for the enjoyable experience. I look forward to hearing from you regarding my request and hope to visit again soon.

The room was clean, large and comfortable. The glass door on the toilet was an issue as I rise early and needed the light on to shave which woke my wife.
Blackout blinds on the room window were great.
The tea /coffee station in the room was adequate. Strangely, no decaf tea in the hotel and little in the way of decaf coffee or hot chocolate either.
The staff were all very nice and went the extra mile. The Scottish trainee on the desk in the morning was especially good dealing with our enquiries.
Location wise, this hotel seems to be in an Asian quarter which was lovely. Walking distance to Central Station and bus and tram routes outside the door.
All in all this was a good hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

All staff were very nice and helpful. Location was quite good. Right on multiple bus lines, short walk to Central Station and light rail. The room seemed quite small with the decent amount of luggage we had, but you get that. Beds were very comfortable. The lifts were very busy at checkout time and sometimes we waited 15-20 minutes and one or two came, but they were already full. Also breakfast got very busy later in the morning, but it did say this pretty clearly at the reception desks. And we always were able to get a table no problems. Overall a nice place to stay. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Great service upon arrival. Spacious room. Very clean and tidy. Pool and Gym area was amazing (with extra towels supplied at the pool). Housekeeping were exceptional. Only thing i would have liked the bottled water (stated but not in the room) and the bar fridge needs upgrading (old yellow looking and freezer was very frozen over). The pull out sofa was very comfortable for the grand daughter. Restaurant was great, fast and very affordable. Would definitely recommend.

The best thing about this hotel would be its location. The rooms were decent and clean the view from the room is amazing as well. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. Your travel as a tourist is sorted as you are centrally located and taking the bus or train or tram wont be an issue at all everything is in a 1min walking radius.

I stayed for 3 nights. On arrival my impression of the lobby was that it looked a bit aesthetically shabby due to the tiles and the extremely bright white lights. The room was satisfactory in its size and window view, the bed was comfortable and I enjoyed the available toiletries. I was extremely dissatisfied with the noise level from the hallway. My room was across from the service door and there was a constant slam or crash noise as the door opened and closed multiple times in the evenings and mornings. I could also very clearly hear other guests in the hallway talking and taking their luggage out. This disrupted my peaceful enjoyment of the room as well as my sleep. I had to request ear plugs three times before I finally was provided some. I also would've preferred some toothpaste without needing to open a fresh toothbrush each time (as I had no check in luggage I could not buy a full tube of toothpaste). Apart from that I did enjoy the customer service provided, the location, the comfort of the room and the hotel breakfast.

Rooms were clean and modern, staff were helpful and nice. Some areas in the hotel were looking a little tired, but the room itself was up to scratch. I could hear other guests at all hours. I guess the walls are thin? Room service was fast and friendly. Skip the buffet breakfast though. The hot food was lukewarm and even the baked goods (muffins, pastries etc) were dry and mealy.

I stayed one night with my daughter while partner was in hospital. Instantly impressed with highly adjustable rainbow lighting and luxurious bathroom and sheets. When we went back to extend the second night there were unlocked extras including late checkout. Pool and sauna were great! Wish the windows weren't so foggy, the view from top floor pool would've been great at night. The price was reasonable for what was on offer. Also wish they could make parking slightly less expensive. Location nearly perfect with iconic train station and Broadway shops nearby. Great stay.
