The Montague Hotel, South Melbourne VIC

Good local pub, we had the fish and chips which while not exceptional were very good for a pub. The chips were super crispy and the fish (Rockling) was fresh and flaked nicely. Prices are reasonable for the area.

Delicious food, a great selection of wine, and a great team looking after you. It's got a lively atmosphere on a Friday night and pumping out some old bangers. Always lovely evening at The Montague. Gorgeous sticky date pud to finish!

Local pub was super busy on a Sunday but we managed to get a table straight away. Food came out quickly. We ordered a chicken parma (with a ginger beer) and a rockling burger (with a pale ale). Very generous portions - the whole plate was filled with chips and salad! The chicken was well cooked so it wasn't dry and chewy.

A little gem and one of a few real local pubs left in the area. Friendly and down to earth staff, quality and well executed menu with a good drink selection of beers on tap. Cozy dining room and bar for those cool Melbourne evenings.

Nice casual pub for a Sunday lunch. Great friendly service. Food came out pretty quick, piping hot and nice portions.

I got the Sunday roast which was beef. It was decent but would have liked a bigger portion but I am a big eater. The Yorkshire pudding was quite dense compared to others I have had (I'm from the UK), the sides were cooked perfectly, it was delicious.

The desserts were all very well made. Between our table we got the full menu choice. Sticky date pudding, apple crumble, crème brûlée, chocolate pudding. Very generous portions and the hot desserts came out piping hot. Very yummy. All would be a good choice.
