Lovely place to sit with the family and eat.
Meals were large and presented well.

I ordered lamb wellington and was 100 percent raw and I hate the veggies only.

Lovely friendly staff, very warm and welcoming.
The food was magnificent, we had the ribs, a Parma, salt and pepper calamari and a risotto. All were cooked and presented beautifully.
Pub had a great atmosphere and I'd recommend it as a meeting place for a drink or a great meal. Will definitely come again

Don't know know this place was empty, food was excellent and one of the cheapest meals I've had in Ballarat in a while. We sat outside and dodged the flying acorns....

Not sure how you over cook the steak without rendering the fat. Was pink but so so dry. Like it was baked earlier then microwaved!?! Not sure.m but at $45 it should be better.

Sensational food!! We had the stuffed chicken, gnocchi and chicken parmi and each dish was beyond our expectations. Fabulous staff who offer exceptional recommendations. Exceptionally priced cocktails. Lively atmosphere. Loved visiting this venue.

WOW. What a fantastic experience. Form the moment we walked in the greeting was lovely. Pumpkin Soup was beautiful and filling. Steak was cooked to perfection. Stuffed chicken breast was divine and they made a kids meal with much need vegetables. A 5 star rating is not high enough.

Cute little pub with friendly service and great food! We came with another family (including 3 kids under 10) for an early Sunday night dinner. Kids loved their kids meals and adult meals were all delicious too with really generous serves. Good selection over the bar too. Definitely recommend! ??'??

This is my local when I visit Ballarat. Drop in, say hi to the staff. Have a drink. If you are a Guinness drinker, they have it on tap. The meals are very good, portions as good also. I never leave disappointed.

Lovely little old style pub. Fabulous food and service. Rib eye steak chips and veg $49.50. Battered fish and chip w. Salad $27.00. Got their just before meals went off at 8.30 and it was simply lovely. Thursday night and an Irish band was playing so we sat a little away to have a quieter dinner together and talk. Rare date night and a few nights away from home. Not usually our chosen music but we both found ourselves tapping our feet along regardless lol! Overall lovely food and the staff were fabulous. We would happily eat here again and would recommend it to others. Thanks for a great night xxx June 2023 xxx

What a fantastic atmosphere. Staff very friendly and attentive. 4 piece band playing today was fantastic, they had the whole of the hotel patrons, singing, clapping and some dancing to their music. Stayed for dinner which is very reasonably priced and cooked to perfection.

Best pub meal I've had in a long time! Partner had the stuffed chicken breast which was delicious, she loved it! I had the porterhouse as unfortunately the ribeye was unavailable, however the steak was thick, juicy and cooked just to my liking, the chips were perfect and the steaks accompanying mushroom gravy was the best I've ever tasted!! Even the salad was amazing, fresh, crunchy with both dressing and just enough mayonnaise to add flavour but not drown everything. We finished off our meal with a serve each of the Bailey's irish cream baked cheese cake, which unsurprisingly, was also absolutely delicious!
Service was fast and friendly, the pub nicely decorated with comfortable well spaced tables.
Was a really nice night out in a lovely old style pub. We'll definitely be coming back!

Edit* .. And we did go back, this time I had the ribeye steak with sweet potato fries. Absolutely sensational! So glad we found this hidden gem in Ballarat ðŸ'Œ

Very special treat. Enjoyed generous servings of a hearty Irish Stew with crusty bread and an excellent Risotto - accommodating gluten free. Cheesecake was awesome. Again, generous serving. Service was prompt, staff were friendly and helpful. Will be back.

It was really tender, not just big cut. It was thick slice so they use calamari not squid ?

For the main, we had porthouse steak ?4: medium rare, mushroom sauce with chips and salad.

Each dish had generous thickness of meat. Stew was tender, rich red wine stew with warm veg and porthouse was just a slightly chewy. May be because of good thickness?

The local red wine Templanillo from Armstrong VIC?was great and smooth to my liking??'?

They had the fantastic live music. It was so good that I thought they played CD until I hear the ??'?clapping.

I think my dad would love this place?

What can I say? Other than... absolutely amazing! Went here about a week ago with my partner and the food, service, atmosphere were just incredible. Highly recommend. Will be back there soon!

Staff is friendly, service is great, food is fantastic. This will be my local each time I am in Ballarat. Give it a visit if you are there, you won't be disappointed.

Awesome food, great staff and service. A special mention to Erin, what a lovely young lady. She really went above and beyond to make our night special.

Dedicated vegan dishes, I was impressed. Beers on tap were a global selection. Wine chooses were perfect. There was a live jazz band and that made the venue kinda special. All the dishes we had were quite impressive.
