The Palace Hotel, Southern Cross WA

The hotel itself is beautifully restored. The owners give the most personalized service and were so welcoming. Stoked to also find happy hour was happening when we arrived. The food we ordered was also a great portion size and well priced.

After 4 nights of bush camping & cooking, the palace was like an oasis to a thirsty camel. I obtained a chicken parmigiana with salad & chips plus a fifty lashes beer filled to the brim, which also came with a smile from a very pleasant lady who seemed to be everywhere at once. The meal was delicious, the beer was cold & the lady who took the order even cleared the tables & had time to chat to the customers. The atmosphere in the bar was quiet & there was a very pleasant ambience about it unlike some other places which are so noisy it is hard to concentrate. Thank you to the Palace & the staff who looked after me.

The Palace Hotel is nothing short of a national treasure! 🇦🇺 Having traveled extensively through four of Australia's states during our vacation, the meal at The Palace Hotel was the BEST food we have eaten!

Liz (the owner), welcomed our family (including our two young children) with great warmth even though it was late on a Sunday. We had the steak with pepper gravy, salad, and mashed potatoes, calamari, pasta bolognese, and topped it all off with the sticky date dessert. Each dish was exceptional!

The ambiance parallels the delicious food. Liz has beautifully restored and preserved this historic early 1900's property. While we dined, we enjoyed the ornate stained glass and architectural beauty. Liz even brought out games for our children to play! She has truly considered and addressed every bit of the guest experience.

We stayed the night at the hotel and the room was well-furnished, immaculately clean, and had an attention-to-detail with the amenities. Without a doubt, our visit at The Palace Hotel was a shining moment in our journey and we highly recommend it to every traveler! 🧳

Stopped in on my way to Adelaide.
Got in at 5pm (halfway through happy hour) which meant $8 pints (actually pints) of Lashes. $7 pints of the beer of the month all day.

I ordered the calamari and it was top-tier!

The service was professional and friendly. The other guests were respectful.

We decided to walk to the pub from the caravan park we were staying in, on recommendation from them. We were not disappointed. We had a couple of beers and headed back. Then we both decided that a meal there might be a good idea. So we about turned and went back. So glad we did. The meals were delicious, and big!!!!
The staff were lovely and the hotel itself is gorgeous.
