The Pier Hotel, George Town TAS

We had great meals in the restaurant. Service was quick, even though the place was packed.

We have been going to the pier for well over 5 years I reckon. And we have never in that time had a bad meal. Meals are big, they come out fast the staff are always friendly and smiling. We was just sitting there tonight and I said to my partner that we have never had a bad meal. People always winge about bad experiences and rarely the good. So we reckon you should give this place a go. It's definitely our go to. From the parmis to the pizzas. Devine! Thanks guys. Bec & Ben.

I used to get their pizzas all the time, then I started ordering extras and got ripped off. For example, when I'd order extra chicken ($4), they'd give me the same amount of chicken, just in bigger pieces. So my husband and I decided to try their schnitzel as I won't be getting their pizzas any more. It was so thin and hard, tasted like it had been deep fried and forgotten about. $60 and we both only had a couple bites before throwing it out because it was completely inedible. Same with the chips, they were old, hard and cold tasted like they had been left in a bain marie all day. The only good part of the meal was the salad and the gravy was okay. You've lost me as a customer for good.

Had a very delicious lunch consisting of Garlic & Cheese Pizza, Scotch Steak Schnitzel with Mushroom Gravy & Golden Syrup Dumplings.

A request for gluten free mushroom gravy was accommodated. Very happy about this.

All the food was outstanding.

However... looking after front of house was Bree. What a delightful and professional young lady she is. A definite big plus for this establishment.

hello, I wasn't going to say anything because I thought it was just my experience however others at my table also didnt enjoy their food. My sister made us all a booking for her birthday lunch, Upon arrival everything seemed okay, There was nothing in the little play area for the little ones to play with. Kids meals came out very quickly, The Pluto pup batter was very watery so I took some of it off to give my toddler some of the hot dog which was rubbery. My sister had no garlic in her garlic kieve.Also other members at lunch were unimpressed with the oysters as they were milky. The children became board and started running around they were told to play in the "play area" there's again nothing in there so the kids started yelling loudly (Granted annoying but we were getting our things together to leave) us leaving was delayed a moment as my toddler fell over and cut her lip. Upon that a staff member told us if the toddlers went back that they would have to be quiet (Again we were leaving so this is no issue but a bit hypocritical of the same staff member who joked about pretending they weren't ours having a giggle amongst ourselves). What was meant to be a nice fun outing was honestly not that nice.
